If you haven't visited much in Asia then Taipei is your choice. Taipei is like a mix of Japan (Osaka for specific) and Singapore and Thailand.
Many attractions, shopping & dining. Usual 4-5 days is good enough to cover Taipei alone, but definitely requires 7-10 days to cover the other cities like Taichung/ Kaoshiung.
Travel to Taipei can be by the way of purchasing package. It is important to go to the night market (Shilim)at week day to have a walk, there will be many people at weekend.
People are friendly if you approach them and ask for a direction altough English language is an issue very often, but they still want to help you.

We tried the Modern Toilet in Ximending, its kinda weird to eat in toilet bowls, urinal bottles but it was fun and the food was also good
It's a city with super convenient MRT(subway) system, you can just go every where by yourself and safety, oh, cap is every where as well, no worries!
Very convenient and friendly city where it helps you to travel around no matter with MRT or Taxi. You can easily get a taxi just in 5 minutes.

the buidlings are old but people are friendly, and very customer focused. places are clean and spotless.

Fun city, most, if not all, places are accessible through public transport, which is extremely reliable, making touring the city a breeze.
There's a lot to do in Taipei, and in Taiwan. It is one of my favourite places on earth. You can easily get into Taipei and go to other provinces / states using their metro / bullet train.
