Local people tend to be nice and relaxing. The city is well-planned--wide roads, pedestrian area, public spaces, parks. Attractions around the city are not the best so it's not very touristic for now. Da Nang is obviously the city that you can take a short break from the whole Vietnam, or even settle down here.

Danang is split up mostly into 2 parts, the beach and then the city where you need to take a taxi or scooter to travel between. It's rather spread out and actually I didn't really enjoy the city so much.

Although the main attraction for tourists seems to be the Cham Museum (which I liked), I thought that the Da Nang Museum (rather new) was better; it deals with the natural and cultural history of the city and the surrounding area, and (as I understood it) there will be more exhibits in the future. The Buddhist temples, the Cau Dai temple, and the Christian church were impressive, as was the riverfront and the bridges. One of my Vietnamese colleagues recommended a 5 a.m. swim in the sea; I was staying too far to take him up on that offer, but it is something to recommend to other travellers because of the good quality of the water there. It was also enjoyable to walk around the city as the streets are not crowded and the people are quite friendly to strangers - smiles and/or small greetings (and nobody trying to rip them off!). The local food is tasty and enjoyable, and there are many coffee shops selling first-class drinks. I even enjoyed a hot-stone massage on two occasions, and they were the best experiences of that type of massage that I have had in Viet Nam over the years. A final note - Da Nang does seem to be interested in cultivating tourism further, and there are promising possibilities if they tap into the local heritage and don't overinvest in such things as casinos, golf courses, and activities that would attract the lower end of the tourist spectrum.

For golfers, there are three beautiful golf courses nearby offering enjoyable golfing experience. The Marble Mountain, Hoi An ancient town and Ba Na Hills would ofer an option for those travelers interested in nature, history and heritage. Alternatively, Da Nang is just simply a destination for a short relaxing vacation.

In addition it is close to the beach for relaxation. It has many eating options both local and international.

Motors stopped, generally, at red traffic lights and it was miderately easy to cross the road at appropriate places. It's a relatively clean city, by Vietnamese standards, but many pavements etc are uneven, partly due to mis-use by motorcycles. There's a good range of shops both for local and international visitors. The city combines history and culture with modern amenities and the beaches, with a satisfying result. The city had a feeling of space and relatively good air to breathe. Well worth a shirt visit, or longer if you want to enjoy the sun and sand.

Terrible food, a few local people in hotels were friendly other than them the most unfriendly people of any country I have ever been to not a good place for Westerners would never go back I would have never gone knowing this. Terrible dirt beach and fake tourist attractions.

.. We rented a motorbike for around $7 a day, we went to the city, to Asia Park and to the Marble Mountains with no problem.

The river hosts a bueatiful boardwalk to stroll along the waterfront, evening displays of lights are fantastic, the bridges are works of art. It feels very safe and no body haggles you to buy a fan or pop up card. there are many other people about but it is not at all crowded. This was my second visit to DaNang and we specifically stayed overnight to see the night lights of the bridges. If you visit on a Friday or Saturday the dragon bridge has a big spray of water from its nostrals. Check with local tourist info I think it happens around 9pm. Lovely atmosphere to stroll along the river and over the Dragon bridge for coffee on the other side.

You cannot walk on the pavements , as there are bikes everywhere .Its little wonder Vietnam has so many accidents and fatalities on the roads . Absolutely crazy and I was terrified ,every time I stepped outside the hotel .

There's spot for people watching and quiet spot. Love the beach. One can also rent amoped and ride thru the Danang town passing several beautiful bridges. Plenty of seafood joints along the beach road. Overall it is nice place for holiday. Still not pack of tourist or travelers yet. looking forward to participate in the coming year Danang Int Marathon again.

It's pretty straight forward to travel around Da Nang, either on a rented motorbike or via the taxis. Some things to do, if possible is to either drive or ride up to Bãi Bắc or Núi Sơn Trà. Aside from road trips, Da Nang is pretty close to Hoi An too, so a trip down to Hoi An is possible too! The Dragon bridge (Cầu Rồng) is also a spectacular sight too; with fire and water performances on weekends at 9pm.

Both locations have many restaurants to choose from. We mainly walked the streets for around 4 hours each day exploring different streets/areas but couldn't find anything worth looking at. The river at night was lovely with all the different bridges lit up.

Stay here and enjoy some trips to Hoi An.

Great beaches if you stay in a resort on the water.

There are some real beautiful parks around the city and many attraction. The Bridges at night all have their own lighting shows and look great. The walking the streets and along the beach walkways at night is great so many great resteruants, and some real fun places to look at and some great shops

There are some attractions and good food and drink vendors. The river is attractive and the bridges give a light show at night.
