Very nice lay back kind of city. Away from a normal big hectic city. Relexing drive through with many interesting historical building and places to visit.

not so develop town. still lack of development. Bujang Valley is must visit place in Alor Star. but this place name not in Kedah attaraction list.

Many place we can visit here because so many historical building here, also many lovely place to eat.

The Pekan Rabu Mall, the nasi kandar Royal,Mee Abu the muzium etc.There is a lot of good food here in Alor Star.

Alor Setar is growing town with lots of history. The birth place of our famous ex Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed.

The city is surrounded by padi fields. They provide great scenery when they turn yellow, ready for harvesting.

Nice city,but not much to look around, 2 days is enough, however if you like country site, it will be wounderful.

Alor Setar normally we will shop at Pekan Rabu famous with local food and local hand craft goods. Place to visit - Alor Setae Tower.

Close to Langkawi or can be considered a gateway from Kuala Kedah or Kuala Perlis. Can also consider making a trip to the southern towns of Thailand, Wang Lelian, Padang Besar, Danok or Hadyai.

A transit town if you want to go to Langkawi Island,the food and don't forget to stop by the Pekan Rabu.

Alor Star is relatively dull compare to other cities like Taiping,Ipoh,Kuching and others. Very few attractions that are advisable to visit.

Nice place to visit and out from busy life as in the city. Not rushing because road move smoothly without jam.

Forget the high rise buildings, Alor Setar is overwhelmed with paddy fields & greenery. It's a place for relaxation, away from city life.

Quiet place, relax and relief. Food is nice over here. Pay a visit to alor setar if u are so sick with busy city life.

Alor Setar is a quiet country town that is very family oriented, but unfortunately doesn't offer much to the tourist.

Good food but you need a car to travel for each location that food available. there are several museum available for visit.

There is a lot of food stall which offers quite a nice and unique food, Alor Star is also the birth place of former Malaysia Prime Minister Dr.

Alor Setar has a lot of attractions. You may find a village style city here. It's peaceful, less congested city.

Capital city of Kedah. I like old market call Pekan Rabu. Variety of things are sold there inckuding food.

There is very close to Pekan Rabu where you can get variety of local delicasies and fruits.. You can also have the chance to ride the local trishaw aroind town.

Its a place where you could find peacefulness and relaxing environment... things and food are pretty cheap.

Typical city with large green field and classic building, great for photographer and history seekers.

I am from alor setar. The foods here are superb and you won't forget once you try, but try the famous ones only yeahh

When traveling around the city center, be reminded about parking issues. Traffics aren't like what they used to be.

the city centre is very good but i was well away with only taxi transport no public bus from leverage hotel

A very laid back city. It is very relaxing to walk around the city. Things seemed to beless hurried here compared to other cities in Malaysia.

For the Muslims, a visit to Al Bulkhari mosque. There's also Alor Setar tower where one can see almost all of Kedah.
