As the owner of Topos Treehouse might want to re-locate Google Maps pin for Topos Treehouse. Shuttle couldn’t find us for pickup. But they did and all is well.

“Memorable stay in a unique property”
Things I like
Unique property. Topo is a wonderful host who greeted us and gave recommendations for places to eat and visit. Thoughtful touches included a welcome fruit selection and drinks. The treehouse is spacious and was spotlessly clean. We loved the hammocks. The treehouse is 5 minutes walk to the black sand beach. The Cahuita National Park with monkeys, sloths and a beautiful white sand beach is definitely worth visiting.
Things I don’t like
The twin room is quite compact. However, my daughters didn’t seem to mind.

“Unforgettably amazing!”
Things I like
If you are the adventurous type or you just want a new experience for your trip to Costa Rica this is the treehouse for you! It is a unique accommodation that totally wowed my daughter and granddaughter, my husband, and I! From the sloths literally hanging out on the trees in our garden to the howling monkeys, all the various birds feeding in the beautiful pond to lazing on the hammocks…..it was a dream come true especially for our girls. The literal huge ficus tree towers through the main living areas with open decks all around for viewing and listening for the wildlife. The 2 beautiful bedrooms were perfect for the 4 of us…completely enclosed, I truly never even saw an ant… this is the rainforest after all complete with all forms of wildlife…a big reason we come here over and over. The town of Cahuita is a favorite town especially because of the snorkeling on the coral reef. Luis is the guy to ask for at the dock. Book a combo snorkel and tour through the national park for the full experience. We’ve done it twice and it won’t be our last. To top all this off Topo is a most amazing host who went out of his way to meet us when I realized I’d left something precious to me after we’d left for our next adventure. Thanks Topo again and again! You were kind from the moment you met us at the reggae bar with all our tons of luggage…surprise! 2 young women and my husband and I staying in Costa Rica for a month do not travel light😂 Pura Vida Jack, Monica, Amy and Nicene
Things I don’t like
Nothing at all! Just know this is a REAL treehouse lovingly and skillfully constructed by Topo himself over the years. He commissioned artisans to actually carve in some stunning details so look for them.

“Unique Cahuita adventure stay for beach and nature lovers!”

We loved our stay in Topo’s treehouse! The property is unique and beautiful. It feels safe even though most of the house is open to nature. The neighborhood feels safe (safest we felt in Costa Rica) and the property is large and has plant-covered fences with a locked gate for added privacy. The bedrooms can be closed up and have excellent air-conditioning if it gets warm. You never know what kind of wildlife you will see, so remember to look around . During our 2-night stay, we saw a juvenile 3-toed sloth, howler monkeys, bats (cute - not scary), geckos, our clever raccoon (who is the reason we kept the trash in the refrigerator at night), agoutis, many species of frogs and birds and probably more that I am forgetting. The warm-water beach was a quick walk away and the sand was amazing and no rocks in the water! There is a great Reggae bar/restaurant right there too which we ate at twice - very good food! While eating at the restaurant, we saw a kinkajou and sloth in the trees on our first night there. So cool! On the quick walk to the beach, you will see Bridgette’s tours advertised - drop in if you want to reserve any of them. We did the horseback riding and throughly enjoyed it - bring pants :) Topo was a great host and we highly recommend this adventurous/unique place to stay in Cahuita. Also recommend snorkeling/park tour - we just drove into town and found someone to take us out - saw sea turtle, stingrays, puffer fish, flounder, lobsters, and 3 lion fish with our guide. Thanks, Topo!!!

Things I like
The views and the animals were amazing. The house is well constructed and woodwork is beautiful. The treehouse is well located and walking distance to the beach and 3 restaurants. It is about a 15 minute walk to Cahuita proper with more restaurants and shops.
Things I don’t like
The property is rustic and certainly priorities the beauty of nature over comfort. This was a great choice for us for two nights. If we had stayed longer we would have been wishing for improved bedding and a more comfortable bathroom/showering experience.
