"We stayed at Hostel Cattleya for 2 nights and it was great. Jonathan was very helpful and provided loads of suggestions of things to do and a very detailed map of the area. He helped us book our tours and onward transport too. The room was basic but clean and comfortable. The kitchen has recently been renovated and it is amazing! I would definitely recommend that you stay here!"

"We spent 4 nights at OutBox Inn and had a great time! The dorm beds are huge & comfy with fleecy blankets and two pillows , a first in our CA trip! You can access towels for a small deposit. Each bed has sockets, there are lockers in the room and 2 hot showers for the 6 beds. Uriel came to greet us once we had checked in, he has a wealth of knowledge about the local area and how to get the most out of your stay, anything he was unsure of he went out of his way to find out for us. The restaurant is over the car park offering breakfast through to dinner- a menu of worldly foods. We had some early starts for tours in the area & the bakery is next door, open from 5.30am for coffee & breakfast. The local buses to the reserves leave from outside also and, although in the main town of Santa Elena, the location is peaceful with a lovely garden, they were also building a deck overlooking the garden. Definitely recommend staying here, also contacting Uriel directly to book +506 8659 2054."

"Just on the edge of town, short walk to supermarket, restaurants erc. Rooms are basic but functional, breakfast on the terrace is a plus, lovely views! Use of the kitchen is great. Good budget option. PS theres a great pizza restaraunt 200mtr away, turn left as yiu leave the hostel up the hill, its on the right, huge pizzas, goo price! "
