The place is what counts”
It is amazing in the middle of the national park. Totally worth it. If it would be in the middle of Taipei it would be an average hotel. But the location. The views. The nature around. This is what counts and is worth it. The food is good. They also put on some shows. But most of all it is the nature here around.

recommend ”
For those who are used to camping, this is highly recommended. They offer after dinner native tribal dances as entertainment. It was good but don't expect to see authentic native dances though.

Good place for self isolation in Taroko”
The staff are extremely helpful and nice. We love the food they cook for us. The bathroom smells a bit weird and the shower is dated. Very comfortable beds

Overpriced despite great location”
One of the most amazing site in Taiwan, but cheap food, noisy shows and tasteless arrangements. For this price we were expecting a wonderful stay but it was not. The staff is good and polite but the management should seriously review their offering and pricing policy.

Low CP Value”
Great location, but definitely NOT worth the cost! The rooms are so so, and the food is not up to standards. But the price is just way too high!

Best hotel in Taroko!”
We stayed at the Leader Village Taroko for 3 nights and spent our Christmas at the Village. We reached Hualien by TRA pretty late and only made transport booking couple of hours prior to our arrival. The Village staff was very accomodating and arranged a pick up for us immediately. Once we reached the Village, we were greeted by the beautiful view of Taroko. Villages (rooms) are surrounded by mountains and the view outside the room is breathtaking! The village (room) is very spacious and well maintained-clean and bright. They also provided breakfast and dinner. The food is a mixture of Taiwanese and Western style. For dinner, they always have BBQ wild boar which we loved to eat so much. After dinner, there were musical and dance performaces conducted by the Village's staff and owner which emphasizes the Taroko tribe's culture with some fun (modern dance) added to it. Though the performances are conducted in Mandarin (and i dont understand Mandarin), we still found it interesting and watched it everynight. One thing which we remembered the most is the attitude of the staff and their service. The staffs were very friendly and thoughtful. For example, we needed to leave very early on our last day, they helped to arrange a pick up and also packed breakfast for us! And because we stayed for 3 nights, on our last night, they gave us complimentary food (we chose beef steak)! Overall we had an enjoyable and lovely stay at the Village. We will definitely stay again at Leader Village Taroko.

Wonderful Experience”
This is an amazing hotel with an even better backstory. The hotel staff are all Taroko people, the aboriginal people for which the gorge is named. I met the owner and saw his passion for providing economic opportunity to this underprivileged group. Dinner and Breakfast are provided and the food uses as much local ingredients as possible. Pork is a staple of the diet. It is one of only two hotels located within the national park and is the closest thing I have seen to a National Park lodge outside the United States. The rooms are cabin like duplexes with porches and screened windows allowing the breeze to blow in. The hotel is at 4500 feet so it is a bit cool. The evening show features youth Taroko people sharing their music, dancing, and singing talents. The show and the entire facility feature the Taroko People and their culture. This is an excellent place to learn about throw culture and immerse yourself in nature. Chinese is the primary language.

Experience the culture in this beautiful spot.”
the wooden cabins are situated amongst the most beautiful scenery and were very clean and comfortable with fridge, coffee, tea provided. beds are very low-set on a wooden platform which could be a problem if you have mobility problems. staff were most helpful and friendly and participated in the evening cultural performances which were a delight. english ability is sometimes limited but there was always someone on roster with good english skill. meals were delicious and effort was made to provide variety. leader village taroko hotel is perfectly situated to access the many beautiful walks within taroko gorge. organised tours are also offered.

Breathtaking view and superb air !”
The Leader Village is a unique one as it resides in the centre of the Taroko National Park. Usually tourists have to book a cab or a guided tour to pay a visit to the park. But as the hotel is located inside it you can access it via a variety of trails available in and around the Hotel. It would take hours if you really want to see most of the park and the rich history that comes with it. The hotel is managed by local aborigines families and even though they aren't trained in hotel skills, they serve with their heart and that is more than you can ask for. Even though it is a little pricey, the cabin is clean and managed well by the staff, there is little or no insects that would pester you and you can thoroughly enjoy the fresh and and surreal environment in this place. If you are looking to relax and breathe in some mountain air, this is the place. As I was there in Novemeber, it was cooling enough not to switch on the air conditioner for me for the two nights that I was there. Foodwise it is a little on the asian side, but they did have spaghetti for breakfast on my 2nd morning. And anyway, you are on a holiday of another country, definitely you would want to try some local delicacies?

Delightful and Unique”
the hotel is beautifully situated right in bulowan, taroko national park, and is definitely meant for those that appreciate being in natural surroundings. from the moment you drive up the hill to the hotel entrance, you are awed by the gorgeous views all around. it's not your typical hotel experience, more like upscale camping, since the rooms are in cabins arranged around a couple of large lawn areas. however the rooms have everything needed - bathroom with sink, blow dryer, toiletries, toilet and shower, comfy beds, tv, free wi-fi, hot pot w/ coffee/tea. the highlight of one night was the aboriginal meal and show that was held under the stars featuring atayal children. we didn't understand much since it was all in mandarin, but i enjoyed it anyway. the second night there was a different show with new performers and a bilingual guest helped translate in english. the food was a variety of aboriginal, asian and western selections buffet style. unfortunately the first night there was a large tour group that wiped out the dessert choices before we could sample any, but who needs the extra calories? we highly recommend taking the full day gorge tour with li, arranged by the hotel. she spoke minimal english but was still able to explain the sites and make sure we experienced all the stops to the fullest.

Memorable stay”
Leader Village Taroko Hotel is a great hotel with enough guests, not too many and not too few. The view and atmosphere is great. Internet is only fast and good in the lobby but extremely poor in our room. Food cannot be called the best but offer enough satisfactions. generally, highly recommended hotel in this wonderful national park.

Natural pristine setting. ”
Stayed three nights at the hotel. Enjoyed the hospitality of the staffers. Room was clean with heated blankets & natural spring water for shower. Delicious and ample food with breakfast & dinner provided. Buffet dinner was particularly good. Beef steak (to cater to my dietary constraints) was delicious! Start your dinner not later than 6:30 pm... Eat at a leisurely pace and proceed to watch the nightly performances at 8:00 pm. Very interesting & unlimited beverages like plum vinegar & fragrant long life chrysanthemum herb tea. The hotel is manned by Taroko natives who also double-up as performers! Hotel location is good, about 5 mins to Swallow Grotto & other interesting sights. Try out all the walking trails - Bamboo Grove, Meander Core & Swallow Grotto. It is worthwhile to spend a whole day at Swallow Grotto. Take a leisurely drive along the Suhua Highway, 118 km long, and take in the stunning seascapes!

A touch of Truku hospitality”
The hotel is located in the beautiful Taroko Gorge. It is a treat to wake in the morning and savour the view. The buffet breakfast and dinner were quite delicious, unique (include some Truku dishes) and substantial although the room is quite basic and eco-friendly (no pesticides used although both doors and windows had insect screens). The warm and enthusiastic performance by the manager, staff and children is absolutely heartwarming and a highlight. My kid especially enjoyed the 4 tone Taroko xylophone performance and he absolutely loves the Taroko souvenir he got for completing the quiz, carrying it in his pocket for the rest of the trip. One night here seems too short. We would stay here again.
