Sorsogon Province hotels & places to stay

My family and I spend a week in Vitton Beach Resort and we cannot recomend it enough! First of all everone working there is so friendly and helpful! Especially Annie, the manager, was a great help to us! Not only can she help you with everything when it comes to organizing tours and so on, but she will do everything she can to give you the best vacation. It feels like being in a family who looks after you, which especially is nice if you travel with small children. After checking out of the hotel we found out that we had lost our passports in the airport. We went back to the hotel and Annie made all the calls we needed to do, went with us to the police, had friends looking for the passports at the airport and so on. If she had'nt been such a big help we would never have made our flight home. We are so grateful for the help we got from her and everyone at the hotel! Thank you!! The hotel itself it the most cozy hotel in that area we think. The area around the restaurant and pool is so relaxed and with a lovely atmosphere. It is also very close to the turistcenter where you can book different tours. We recommend not only the whaleshark tours but also doing the Islandhopping to San Miquel. There we saw just as nice corals as in Palawan and a lot of other speicies we had not seen before for example seahorses. Next time we will do the inland tour. The area around Donsol is beautiful with green hills like chocolate hills in Bohol. We went with a tricycle to a village nearby which was a nice trip. We played basketball with local kids at the baskeballcourt, saw nice ricefields, green hills and friendly locals! Annie will also arrange for a tour to the local school if you want that. If you have an idea just ask her and she will help you! The beach is not a white beach but is is nice and not crowded. My two sons spend hours and hours finding the most beautiful shells. Not anywhere else in the Philiphines have we found so many nice shells! Just remember not to take

Absolute paradise, not a thing out of place and Milo the owner and all the staff could not do enough to make your stay perfect. Each morning to the point of having someone sweeping leaves away from the side of the pool. Making sure your glass is topped up at lunch. Pre-buying foods we fancied to eat for lunch and dinner! Archie let us know in the morning what was for our next meal, I requested chicken and was presentes with an amazing dish. Annie's husband the trike driver stayed with us for hours one day and asked we pay him what we thought rather than naming a price. He stayed with us to make sure we were ok in the city, took us to a tattooist when we asked. Apparently the hotel had asked to make sure we were ok so kudos to them again. The pool is immaculate and the rooms are amazing. The most comfortable huge pillows!! The whole building is artwork. When we are back in Luzon we will definitely stay nowhere other than Siama. Missing you all already!

it is a really great place for people who would like to reconnect with nature and relax away from the hustle of city life. the staff were really nice and accommodating. we booked the suite room but they even upgraded us to a villa. the food was delicious and worth the price! the only problem for us was that the hot shower was not working. Overall, we totally enjoyed our stay :)

We travelled as one bunch of family. The rooms were clean and comfortable. It has the basic things you need (like towels and clean bedsheets). Although they are only 2-stars, I think they did great in keeping the hotel tidy and comfortable. It's a beachfront resort so you could easily dip in the water anytime you want. They're just n xt door to the tourist office, which is great. The staff were friendly and very helpful in suggesting good things to do /see in the area. Homecooked (Filipino food) meals were also served.

My in laws had their 50TH Golden wedding anniversary reception here at their party room and it was a success! We stayed at the hotel with some other relatives for over 2 weeks and the staff , room, pool, location and other amenities were well worth our stay. We are Filipino Canadians and were quite impressed with the hotel and friendliness of the staff. They go out of their way to help and improve your stay here at Fernando’s Hotel, Sorsogon, Bicol, Philippines. We will be back and highly recommend staying here.

My stay in Elysia Beach Resort is one of the best experiences that I had in Sorsogon. Relaxation is easy since location gives a feel of being away from the city. Staff are genuinely nice but the real highlight is their food. We ordered Sinigang and Grilled Tuna twice 'coz we really loved it. I liked the clean room although there is no kettle and ref inside. Very smart move indeed because some guests will just buy food/coffee in their restaurant. I'm alright with the prices of the main dishes. But I think P50-P70 for a cup of coffee is expensive. They offer trips that are very expensive as well. So if you are planning to have whale shark interaction, just go straight to the Eco Tourism Office to avoid their expensive rates.

There were only very few hotel/resort options at Matnog, Sorsogon online, but I did read many good reviews about Bantigui. We got 1 native room and 1 triplex A. The resort was a little hard to find, no signs on the highway, and signboard at the resort itself was old and almost unreadable. But it's close to the ferry/ RoRo port, and we were wow-ed as we entered the resort... the scenery and the beach looked very beautiful. We rented 1 native room and 1 triplex room. Airconditioning in both rooms were faulty. You cant adjust it manually, they will have to go from 29 deg. celsius, and go cooler on its own. That's why they put electric fans in the rooms. The caretaker said they are still in the process of replacing their appliances as they were also badly affected by typhoon Yolanda. We ordered our dinner and breakfast in advance, and each meal was satisfying. I especially loved their sotanghon guisado. Although the availability of the seafood menu depends on whether there's fresh catch or not. The bathrooms have a nice, native design. Water pressure is low though, so you need to fill the big containers first before bathing.

The rooms are dotted around a large area of gardens. The rooms are very nice, and clean, but not 4 stars. The location is 5 stars, however. Right on the black sand beach, with stunning sunsets, ( better than Boracay in my opinion ). Because the area more or less closes in the off season, the locals are not jaded by over - tourism, and are the nicest, people I have come across in a long time. Food was very good. I'd happily stay here again. Only 1 PowerPoint, which runs the air con, unless you have a doubly adapter.

me and my boyfriend stayed here for a night only. agm is not really a five star hotel but we enjoyed our stay there. location is just 3 to 5 min away from the tourism center for the whaleshark adventure. we also had our dinner and lunch in their restaurant. we ordered some porkchop, bicol express and pininyahang manok ---> (we love their version of chicken pineapple). one order is good for 3 to 4 persons and prices are all good for the servings. we had some porkchop and bicol express leftovers but they are nice enough to keep them in their ref and warm it for us the next day which was what we had for our lunch aside from the buttered prawns that we ordered the next day. staffs are nice and friendly. rooms are clean and rate is okay. too bad we were not able to give some tips for one of their guy staff who was very friendly and who called the trycycle for us when we left the hotel, perhaps next time when we go back as we failed to see any whalesharks during our stay there. we definitely recommend agm.

I've read some reviews that this hotel is more a motel than a hotel. I agree that it has a motel part but they have a separate building for family rooms. The hotel is fairly new and it is clean. The bed did not give me a back pain. The sheets are also clean. Its about 3 - 4 kms from the city center but these was not traffic so it was an easy drive. They have a resto but their cook goes home. So what we did was ordered our breakfast in the afternoon as well as told them what time we want it prepared. Do not expect 5 star reception but for P1,400 a night, this hotel was worth it.

Although I knew it was off season I didn't realise until we turned up that the hotel would usually be closed. Turning up to a closed hotel would usually spell disaster for the start of any trip... However thanks to the owner this was actually one of the best stay so far. We arrived at about 5pm and the owner organised for us to do a firefly tour within the next hour. He organised for us to have dinner and he and his friend waited outside while we ate. Because we only stayed one night we had to get the van back to lagozpi at 12pm... He organised a private rowing boat and snorkel gear for us to go snorkelling that morning and all at discounted prices. Because the kitchen was closed for off season, he and his family provided us with breakfast which was really good. Over all just the most amazing hospitality! Will definitely come back (although perhaps a different month!) to try and see some of the famous whale sharks.

place is worth the price. however, you need to hire a tricycle for you to reach the place, and you have to walk for about 10-15 mins to reach the highway. place is within a subdivision so you can't find a tricycle that easily. the owner is very nice. we had great conversations. we borrowed utensils when we taked out our food. wifi connection is good in the common area. place is clean. there's a shower heater too. we requested hot water in the morning and they gladly provided it. overall, the place is good for travellers who would want to explore sorsogon :)

We enjoyed our stay, even though we have never been in a homestay before. We took a tour to see the whalesharks by the help of Marilyn, the owner. We got lucky and saw 3 of them even though the season was not right. It was a great experience and we got some good video, though it was hard to catch up to them, even with fins. Marilyn was very helpful in everything we needed, she helped us in everything from getting there to doing what we want and even got liquid for my wife's contacts when she was out. They always asked us what we want to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner, so when they cooked for themselves, they also cooked for us. Breakfast was 150, dinner and lunch 250/person so the prices are very reasonable. Now to the cons, nothing major but might be an issue for some: A general feeling of lack of privacy might be an issue especially if you're with your wife or girlfriend. This probably applies to any homestay, but this was our first stay in one. You can hear the people downstairs very clearly at least from the room we were staying in. The prices are not always clearly stated, so remember to ask. They're not especially high or anything of the sort, but it would always be nice to be informed beforehand. We also had a little issue with our bill, which we were asked to settle long after check-out, when we were already in Manila. It wasn't a big deal, just a couple of items forgotten from the bill, but asking to settle bills after checking-out is something we haven't experienced before. All in all though, the owner handled the issue very well and was extremely friendly and apologetic of this. The internet was extremely slow, but it is so everywhere in Donsol. Seems like they only have wireless connections, no landline internet at all. I did my work in one of the internet cafe's nearby, where the connection was a tiny bit faster. All in all, a nice place and very hospitable people who are glad to help you during your stay. They food was also good.

We stayed 3 days in Giddy's and it was great. Clean and spacious room, nice pool, nice place. WIFI not great, but it was the case everywhere in Donsol. It is 5min away from the beach in Tricycle and even if the beach is not very nice in Donsol, it is close enough. The staff was fantastic !!! Always smiling and helping whether you need info, or want to book any trip, tour, dive (I heard they are the only PADI certified dive center in Donsol). We booked our diving + whale sharks snorkeling with them and it was awesome and easy. The only negative point I'd put is the restaurant. It is clean and service is good, but the food is just ok ... not bad, but just ok.

when i booked, i had no idea what to expect which is always a good thing when you book at a place located in a remote area. to my surprise, for the amount i paid, i found the basic accommodation very acceptable. the room was clean, had its own bathroom (though the hot shower was not working which i didn't mind), spacious, well located. the resort is situated right on the beach and is walking distance to the tourist center where you register and board the boat for the whale shark interaction tour. i really enjoyed watching the sunset from the resort. meals cooked in the restaurant are good and inexpensive. overall, i really enjoyed my stay in the resort.

My 2 aunts were the ones who used the reservation - and they were not happy about it at all. Number 1, there was no indication that the room was on the 2nd floor, which is not a big deal IF they have an elevator. One of my aunts has a knee problem and going up and down the stairs is not advisable. Next, the toilet flush got busted and they were told that they will be transferred into a different room. Which at first was not complied with. They spoke to the owner and the owner said that the place is not really a hotel - it is an inn (a misrepresentation on their part). And the owner wanted them to add payment before they are transferred and also the owner told them that since this was bought thru Agoda, they (my aunts) got a cheap price for it. When my aunt argued about this all, that was just the time that they were given the room. It was disappointing. My aunts are senior citizens already and they dont need stress when vacationing.

They are two different resorts owned by the same owner. The one on the picture with pool is not fully developed yet. It means no restaurant, running water from generator, no Wi-Fi, etc. Very friendly caretaker who can bring you food or beer. Videoroke if you like to sing. It is at the end of the road, far from town. Owner was nice to honour my Agoda reservation even I had to come day later. Boats to Subic Beach are expensive unless you are in a larger group. Not so good option for solo traveller.
