Misamis Oriental hotels & places to stay

We we planning to stay in a different hotel but when we passed by the gold building, we were hypnotized and stayed there instead. We were at the end of our 3-day backpacking adventure in Misamis Oriental. Despite our dusty shoes and crumpled clothes, the staff treated us like kings and queens when we stepped inside the hotel. The place is pricey but it's all worth it. Here are some noteworthy information about the place: 1. Quality of service. Security, concierge, restaurant, room service, pool guys, etc... Kudos to all of you! 2. Room with a great view. We're on the 8th floor and the view was awesome. 3. Food. There's lots to choose from, though we only got to eat breakfast there. You can have your eggs cooked in any way you want. It tastes great too! 4. Infinity pool. Take a dip in the saline pool up on the third floor. It has a great view of the city. 5. Modern equipment. The rooms are so modern that we had a hard time finding the switch; what can we say, we have never seen that kind of switch. 6. Soft beds and fluffy pillows. The bed was so perfect, we decided to cancel our Iligan trip to stay in bed. That is how we loved the bed. 7. Location, location, location. The hotel is at the heart of the city and it's very near malls and restaurants. Located beside Lim Ket Kai Mall; a block or two away from Centrio Mall and Gaisano Mall. Transportation is not a problem, taxis and jeepneys are everywhere. 8. Free wifi. What more can I say? 9. Art and stuff. Corridors are lined with art work of local artists. It showcases how diverse and rich Kagayanon culture is... Or maybe to scare the life our of you! One sculpture just did that to us. 10. It's gold. Like moths to the flame, we were enchanted by building's facade. A day of staying in the hotel made us realize that we got to stay in the gold building in the city of golden friendship.

Excellent stay. This hotel is owned by the Ayala corporation and is run to international standards by an Ilalian Manager and Rey his Associate who has worked in Makati's finest hotels. The hotel is new, modern and is connected to the large, upscale Ayala Centrio Mall. Staff are service oriented. Breakfast choices for Western guests should be expanded - perhaps an egg station, hash browns, and pancakes. The Internet was free and the signal was excellent.

Good comfy beds. Strong water pressure on rainshowers with hot water. Room was small but adequate. Centrally located adjacent on both sides by the ongoing construction of new SM. Staff very friendly. Recommended that you download their Red Planet App so you can enjoy various discounts and can contact the front desk through chat. Free Wifi in the rooms and lobby. No ref but have LED TV with good number of channels' With split type AC. It also sells hotel souvenirs like shirts and caps. There are computer units at the lobby for guest use and also Free Newspapers at the lobby. Adjacent to the hotel is a good restaurant called Circa.Good breakfast here and good Hot Chocolate served. Would recommend for value oriented travellers.

One of the most affordable hotel in the city that I can walk to the nearest restaurants and shop that I need to visit for business purpose. Room is big and clean except for the fact that the care kit is subject for request. they have free hair dryer as well. the staff are excellent with good customer service. The aircon is okay. you just need 2 hours before you feel it is cold enough. but overall my experience is great except for one thing. I can still hear inside my room all the noises in the resto and bar at the ground floor including the performing band till midnight. So this is not the best place for those who have issue with noise at night. In spite of that, I still want to visit this hotel again.

When I think of a hotel with the word Pension in the name this not quite what I had in mind . This was more than I expected. The staff and service was very professional. The only reason I gave 3 stars for the location was that I thought I had booked near the beach. Its in the middle of the city. My mistake. Upon arriving when I told the staff this a very nice woman who may have been thr manager was so very helpful. I told her I wanted to transfer to a hotel near the beach. She was happy to suggest contacting Agoda about a refund but wrote out very specific directions on how to get to the beaches which required a 10 minute jeepney ride for 7pesos and a 1 hour bus ride for 100p. Check in was prompt and smooth. They have an exercise room which is available upon request . The room

Location—along the street. Walking distance to sm,ayala and gaisano. (If travelling going to airport, you can use magnum bus in kitkai or oddysey in SM downtown just a few walk from the hotel) Room- was spacious with simple nice design, toiletries provided, fast internet speed. Comfy bed. The pillow was a little odd (maybe its because of the protector). Its quiet and homey. Staff- they were courteous and professional. (From receptionist,resto attendant(dining area) and housekeeper. Food-the breakfast buffet were yummy and filling. Remember its free! Cleanliness- from towel to bedsheets, smell fresh and clean. Value for money- definitely! ***i have stayed in 10 different hotels (budget or not) this month. I must say that 1A is at par with other best luxury hotel. It may not have the amenities like pool or gym,but its pretty decent and for me its just enough if you’re travelling and just want a place to rest. I really highly recommend this place. Hope the staff will continue their professionalism, they maybe interns or regulars. Thanks for the exellent service and for the genuine warm smile.

What a fantastic hotel, I always enjoy service with a smile and this hotel did not disappoint me. The staff were fantastic, restaurant doors were always opened for us with a "hello sir, hello mam". When we required a taxi to town they would walk to the road and hail a taxi and when the taxi pulled up the rear door was opened for us. When we returned in the taxi, again the door was open for us, on a side note we never had to ask a taxi driver to turn the meter on, the meter was always turned on. We booked a deluxe room and it was big and clean , the bed was very comfortable and the cable tv had lots of channels. The hotel had a lovely pool with big open gardens. This hotel to me just a lovely feel.I would recommend this hotel to everyone. I would also like to say a very special hello and thank-you to all the ladies at reception, i extended my stay and they gave me a very good rate.

The place is good cos they have the cheaper option for single travelers with a standard single bed for the bedroom. Location is excellent in city centre and it's near public transport, eateries, malls and the Universitiee. Breakfast is great pinoy food and they serve you in bed (that's why it's call ("Bed & Breakfast")! The staffs are generally helpful and friendly and initially I wanted to stay for 1 night only, but decided to extend my entire stay for another 4 nights in Cagayan De Oro city, before flying back to Cebu. Highly recommended!

The hotel just recently opened (Aug 2017) according to one of the staff so there's a few more bugs they need to work out. one of the room that i got had an AC problem and it nearly flooded the room overnight (halfway) but the staff quickly remedied the problem and gave me another room. You have to ask the hotel staff for the basic amenities in the room like bottled water and coffee which suppose to be in the room. they need to replace their towels; it looks old and used. other than that, our stay was pleasant and the staff were very nice :)...the best part was free breakfast and it's next door at KUYA J's restaurant! i would definitely stay at the this hotel again:)

When in Cagayan de Oro N hotel is the hotel place to be😍. We booked multiple hotels here and no regrets. The hotel room are nice and cozy and there is enough space in the room. They have recreational pool. Breakfast included too. This is a perfect place from the city buzz and you can go outside the hotel there are fastfoods available outside. Everything is jist fine and just about right what you pay for we loved our stay.

Newly opened. Great location to airport, approx 5 mins. Provides pick up and drop off to airport for 200php. Has restaurant on site. Has mini mart onsite. Provides an ample amount of tours. Newly opened pool which is great to beat the heat. Had a miscommunication with beddings in room, however within minutes the staff rectified tthe issue and provided us ou keys. Staff is very friendly and customer oriented. Lobby is manned 24 hours a day. I would recommend this hotel for short stays, overnight arrivals and departures. This hotel as well as the airport I approx 1hr 30 mins from city.

This is a very nice hotel good value for money and in a good location. Do not pay the walk-in price as it is far more expensive than booking online, about 20% to 25% difference, And as l stayed there for about a week this would have a few thousand dollars , also the superior rooms have a refrigerator which is very nice, the only negative is the fact that many of the guests are very noisy and the hotel management dont seem to care about the noise , After twonights l had to move from the 3rd floor to the 2nd floor because of the noise

Property is well managed. All the staff including the housekeepers have college degrees, most in hotel management. All the staff are exceptionally friendly. Air conditioning is quite capable once the remote control with 5 fan speeds is understood. House keeping is very responsive, usually with in 10 minutes. Never waited for more than 1 minute for a taxi. Hotel room service food is provided by chain Filipino food outlet in hotel. Respectable and consistent meals. P200 home made pizza is available at the bar until 1am. No less than 5 rotisserie chicken stands directly across the street (includes 2 sundry stores). 3 very nice restaurants within a block. 7-11 and 2 pharmacies within 2 blocks. Only those hypersensitive to noise will have a noise problem with the street side rooms with a/c on, doors closed and tv on. If it is still a problem for a few dollars more get a backside room. Internet is highest speed available at the location. Massage Salon in lobby offers excellent array of styles with certified masseuse. Extra plus is full backup electric generator for periods of blackout.

I am travelling for business purposes in cagayan,I have tried many different hotel to stay every time I visit there but the Primavera is exceptional. Why I can say it is the best first I didn't expect that they will literal and respectfully grant all of my special request when I booked on their residence. Second the staff are very accommodating. Third they don't do over charge unlike other hotels in cagayan because our check out is 11AM then I decided to go out and ask them if I can still stay for another hour because I need to go and eat outside and they politely say not a problem without charging me additional fee. Fourth the place is really quite not much noise aside from the kids who enjoy their day but not really disturbing. Fifth There is a room service everyday they clean the apartment and you can cook they have all of the kitchen stuff inside the apartment. About the room it was very clean and you have your own wifi modem inside the room so no need to connect to their office wifi unlike other hotels. Also primavera is near SM so there is no problem at all. I will surely booked a room in primavera.

THIS HOTEL WHICH IS GOING THROUGH AN UP-GRADE IS REALLY NICE TO STAY AT, WHAT WITH ATTENTIVE STAFF THAT TRY SO HARD TO PLEASE AND A WELL RUN CLEAN SAFE PLACE FOR BOTH CHILDREN AND ADULTS TOO. ITS LOCATION RIGHT ON TOP OF THE CLEAN BEACH IS GREAT AND SECURITY IS VERY WELCOME THERE TOO. WE LOVED THE FACT THAT THEY ARRANGED A JET SKI FOR US TO USE FOR AN HOUR OR SO DISPITE THE FACT THAT THEIR OWN JET SKI'S WERE UNDER REPAIR. SERVICE AND CIVILITY IS AT THE BEST LEVEL THAT I HAVE EVER FOUND IN ANY HOTEL AROUND THE PLANET, AND AS A PILOT I SEE MANY HOTELS EACH YEAR IN MY WORK DUTIES. FROM THE FRONT DESK AND MANAGEMENT DOWN WARDS IT'S A HAPPY NICE CLEAN WELL RUN HOTEL TO STAY AT IN CAGAYAN DE ORO.

I booked this only a day before my check-in. Booked a single standard room for only P350!! Saw the regular rate at St. Nicholas Inn and it is at P600/night. The staff here are very friendly. I was at room no. 8 at first but wifi can't reach that room so I asked to be transferred to room no. 1 instead where wifi is strong. They agreed and the staff is still smiling. They greet or smile at you whenever they see you. Since it is just P350, I thought the room is not ok but it is actually ok. Airconditioning is good, cr is good too and the entire room is ok and clean. Towel and toiletries like soap, shampoo, and tissue are available. There's hot shower too! Good location. Busy street but it is still in the city center. It is in front of the market. Close to Gaisano and Ororama. A little busier than Divisoria though. Me, my sister and my mom were checked in at the Grand City hotel at Divisoria prior to my stay here.

We enjoyed our 5 day stay. The hotel is new, with dining room on the first floor, and rooftop bar. Include breakfast was good. The rooms are nice and fresh, with good wifi. The beds are very comfortable. Nice, professional staff. We liked to take an exercise walk 1km to Ayala Mall. The Museum of Three Cultures within Capitol University in downtown CDO was great.

One of the best assets of this resort is its 25m lap swimming pool. Not only does it have a fantastic view of the city but it has the best lap pool I've ever been to. It's more like an 8 lane 25 meter (5 feet) Lap pool. It was very clean and they are strict with their rules. I was so excited to do a morning laps that I went there at 5:30 am before the sun rises, but the pool opened at 8:30 am due to intensive cleaning. They use alkaline (spring) water. For some reasons, it makes me feel more light and buoyant than a regular pool. We really enjoyed swimming. The down side is, despite the location and rough roads, the pool gets very very crowded. Yes, even on a Tuesday. The rooms were clean and quiet. I requested a quiet area, so they booked us on the lower ground. The hot shower was limited, I didn't get one but my mom did. Our Dinner was great! Breakfast was expensive (250 each) and not worth it. Only the egg and rice were unlimited. Rice wasn't even cooked well.

I have stayed at The Kingston Lodge for at least 8 days on different trips and I can state that no other hotel ANYWHERE offers more for the $! Location is ideal because it is “up on the hill” which is the clean part of CDO, it’s off the main road about 100 meters so you hear nothing and it’s only a few minutes walk to many shops and the new SM mall but when your on the property your in your own quiet world! Rooms are clean, one thing I appreciate (being American) is they have the most amount of television channels I have encountered in PH and it’s nice to find something to watch you can understand. The 2 pools right in the center of the hotel are excellent and provide a great escape from the heat. The restaurant/bar here are 10/10 stars, the menu is HUGE, the portions are HUGE & the variety of liquors is HUGE! As per typical PH the staff are friendly and helpful BUT at Kingston Lodge they step this up, they will always remember your name even if you stayed a night or two a year prior, if you need a taxi they have a gentleman whom walks down the long driveway to personally hail one for you, their is also a full service laundry at the end of the driveway that will wash your things (same day) for a dollar or two. The hotel is owned by an Australian and as a non Filipino you can see the attention to detail geared for the English speaking guest. Twice I have arrived after 11 pm and had the manager happily waiting for my arrival with beverage in hand and smile on his face, Kingston Lodge is a “no stress” property!

Stayed here for 3 nights. The staffs are well trained, very professional and approachable. I like the location since it just near from two major malls. The room is clean, but I would recommend installing a curtain for the shower area to avoid the water to splash on the toilet seats. Their free breakfast is good, even they only have limited range. Their dining area is very cozy and you would really enjoy your meal. Overall, I really enjoy my stay.

Everything about this hotel says style and class. It is clean from the ground up, conveniently located, beautifully appointed, and there is a complimentary breakfast to match anything you will get at the best hotels in the Philippines - and at a nice dining room. Their service is unparalleled, the receptionist spoke perfect English, and was very warm; actually EVERYONE spoke excellent English! They look at you when speaking to you, and the check-in (booked thru Agoda) was fast and seamless. Room service at 10:00 p.m. is unbelievable when you arrive late and tired, and the food was excellent, though higher-priced than I expected. The value we received is among the best in the industry.

This government-owned resort with professional staff was very pleased place to stay for about two weeks for the following reasons: 1. Nice view to the bay and city from cottage 2. Have small zoo there you can see and feed monkeys, eagles, snakes etc 3. Resort is itself as a botanic garden but also it is an entry point to The National park their you can make half-day trip at canyon with jumps to waterfalls (supervised by professional team of the park) or ride horses on the mountain. 4. Some of employees belong to different Tribes so they can tell you about their customs and believes. 5. All day attended by lifeguard nice small swimming pool, which is good for small kids. 6. From 6 am to 9 pm restaurant with reasonable price and very delicious food opens for service. 7. From CDO easily get there by taxi (300 pesos), or can ride Jeepney (10 pesos) and take motorcycle (50 pesos) after. I believe that this is a best place in CDO to spent time of vacation.

Pros: Price is reasonable for a 3 star hotel. Accessible to other establishments Room is spacious, at least the superior room we rented. Bar at the lobby has good entertainment and cheap food and drinks. No need to go out. Mango shake is only P60 in the hotel, in a nearby restaurant, it’s P95. Alcohol is also cheap compared to the food park nearby. Staff is friendly. There’s a security check in front. Cons: The room has no window Issues with water supply and water heater. Corned beef and sausage longganisa that was served for breakfast were cold and already has lard :-(. We couldn’t it eat.

Stayed 3 nights in the hotel. Dec 29- Jan 1, 2018. Location is superb and room is so big can fit a whole family. The staffs were kind an respectful but endorsing was not well. One F.O told me they the need payment to extend my stay. But i have paid cash the night before. But overall 9/10 thank you for the good service. Definitely will come Back to stay in your hotel and recommend to my friends.

This hotel is one of the most value for money places I've ever stayed in. The room is relativity spacious, cable TV, warm shower, air condition and complimentary breakfast. The complimentary breakfast isn't bad either. The location of the hotel is good, not the best because its not in the central area where all the hotels and restaurants are but it still on the way from the airport. A few hundred meters is the jeepney terminal if you like to travel using a jeepney and not a cab. Helpful staff, whey can give you directions if your a bit lost. Only con I can think of is there aren't any restaurants near by the heater of the shower isn't very hot. But for the price who can compain.
