Cagayan Province hotels & places to stay

Location: Good. Days Hotel is less than 20-30 minutes away from SM City. It is located on 4F and 5F of The Atrium Mall at the Capitol, Cor Gen. Luna-Bonifacio Drive. Easily accessible by jeepney and cab. Check-in Experience: Not the Best. Strict to its check-in at 1 pm, and while waiting for it sleeping at the lobby is prohibited (they will really wake you up). Room: Very Good. Feels like I’m not in the province, of course given above average for its cost, I must expect something better and it is indeed. Cozy feeling, clean white and soft bed, well lighted, ample mirrors, television with cable channels, and free newspaper every morning. They also offer free coffee and tea, good thing that the drinking water thermostat is working. Housekeeping: Good. The room and bathroom are kept clean. Toiletries and towels are also provided. I chose this hotel because of its rain shower. Culinary Experience: Good They have a bit expensive buffet. But don’t worry since it is just above the mall, there is food court in the 2F. Also, ground floor is a Supermarket, there are a lot of food stalls and pasalubongs where you can buy from. Issues and Suggestions: Please check the wifi provider, since it did not work for the past 3d2n that we stayed there.

Excellent food and great facilities (pool was clean even though it is surrounded by large trees), and the room was also of a very large size (Matrimonial - best room type to get if you like larger rooms, others are a bit too 'cozy' for me). However, the resort is a 10 - 15 minute tricycle ride (there are NO taxis in Tuguegarao) away from the 'major' locations and even though they do offer a 'drop off' service, you have to abide by their schedule and depending where you want to go, may incur a small fee. Finding a tricycle may also be somewhat of an adventure due to locale. Room had been 'prepped' for our arrival and even though we did get there 1 hour early, the room's air-con was running and it was a nice relief to get out of the humidity. As stated in opening remark, food was excellent and also very, very reasonably priced, and for those 'Kano's' missing home, they do have 'bacon and eggs' (using REAL bacon). TL;DR - Excellent location, excellent food, excellent price.

Have been coming to Tuguegarao every 2 months for 2 years now and this is still the best option of a place to stay. Facilities and rooms are of a very good quality and the inhouse restaurant has also stepped up and is now of a very good quality (change of staff maybe?). If you need somewhere to stay that has friendly staff, good facilities and is central to everything, then you can't go past Mango Suites. It's rated as 2.5 stars, but that I believe is wrong as the other hotels (5 so far - the others looked to dingy/dirty so I didn't bother) I have stayed in (from 4 star down) are not anywhere as good as this establishment. I believe it deserves a 4 (3.5 at the least) star rating as it 'outclasses' the others that are available in this city.

This Hotel is good, clean, and all the workers are very nice! They have an excellent Customer Service. If I am back to Tuguegarao, I will book there again for sure. I am not sure about the name of one of the workers I think his name is Jeff this guy have an extra PLUS as a Customer Service. Also, the hotel has KTV, restaurant, convenience store 24 hours... BTW! They have a free Shuttle to the Airport !!!!!

We booked a deluxe room, & 3 standards to accommodate 11 of us. We were able to use the kitchen facility to cook the family's favorite dishes; then use the dining facilities, complete with dishes & utensils. Convenient to buy fresh seafoods & vegetables; market is only a five minute walk. Staff was very responsive and very friendly! Wish weather was warmer and less windy. Otherwise enjoyed our stay at Eden's.

They have two branches in Tuguegarao. One is along Maharlika Highway which is near the airport, though a bit far from the city center but near Feli-Cita's and the other is situated in the heart of Tuguegarao City, just in the middle of most establishments. The remarkable experience that satisfies our stay is that the owner is very friendly and kind. We arrived at the wrong branch due to misunderstanding (they have the wrong address stated in Agoda, and I missed to confirm my reservation when we arrived in Tuguegarao), but the owner is kind and humble enough to offer us the free transfer to the other branch. I was a bit frustrated at first because I felt that I have wasted my time going to that branch when she courteously offered me a more personal service, she'd be the one to drive us to the other branch (Thank you and apologies for the misunderstanding). She never argue with me, neither raise her voice nor sounded defensive of what happened and I appreciate that. They also provide free shuttle service to and from the airport so it is very convenient (This is good to avoid costly fee you might incur on tricycle trips from the airport). They also offer tricycle service to Callao cave for a fee. The locations of both branches are good depending on your priorities. So far, I have enjoyed my stay there and would definitely stay with them in case I visit the city again.

What I liked about Lugano is that it has well-designed, newly-built and clean facilities. The room we booked for 3 people was spacious and well-maintained. They had nice bedroom furniture and good quality of linens. I was also pleased that they had Ilog Maria toiletries (shampoo, face soap and body soap). I'm really a fan of this brand as they are made of organic ingredients, handmade and really smell nice. Services was also great. They easily provided our request for additional towel (they initially provided just two) and they extended our stay to up to 2:00PM the next day given our island hopping sched so we can still take shower. Luckily, we were the only guests that time plus we checked-in a bit late so they gave us this consideration. Chef Christopher who prepared our delicious dinner (Spicy Garlic Lobster and Baked Lapu-lapu in parmessan cheese) and breakfast (Longanisa Tuguegarao with fried rice and Spanish Omelette plus brewed coffee) graciously entertained us as we dined. They had separate dining hall and coffee shop (unfortunately close - I would've had cake and coffee if it was open). My only suggestion is that they offer complimentary drinks (an ice-cold water will do!) to guests as they usually arrive heat exhausted and thirsty. An easily accessible hot and cold water dispenser would also be very nice since they don't provide electric kettle in the rooms. Overall, our stay was very pleasant and comfortable. We were well-rested the next day because the area was quiet and felt secure. The whole place was equipped with CCTV cameras. It made sense why their windows have too bright lighting at night, they were for security purposes. I will definitely recommend to friends who are travelling to this part of Cagayan. Bonus: It was just a 5 minutes away by tricy from San Vicente Port where you can ride a boat for the tour to Palaui Island and nearby tourist spots.

one of the most important to feel comfortable of my stay is usually by staffs. In this hotel, I can give best rate for this because all of them are kind and supportive with good smiles. And clean rooms with good amenities provided room made me so enjoyable stay here. Very near to the all tourist spot in the city centre is also good point. Free shuttle to airport was appreciated too. Thank you all of you at Hotel Lorita. I had wonderful stay because of you all.

I was pleasantly surprised that a small city like Tuguegarao was able to offer a quality hotel like Pulsar. After a minor hiccup of being checked into the wrong room, my stay was enjoyable and staff were friendly and professional, rooms were nice, food was decent, everything you'd expect from a decent hotel. The rooms are big and spacious for the price. Noise insulation in the rooms could be better (where the noise travels through the door), and this is where I saw a slight shortcoming, but the large size of the room makes up for it, and it is better insulated than a typical budget hotel. Overall I'd stay here again and would recommend it to others.

Upon check in the hotel had different dates for our check-in. I had to provide Agoda print out to prove actual dates. Family helped carry our luggage to the room and were we tried to quickly freshen up after traveling for 20 hours. It wasn't but about two minutes, and we were told that only checked in guests were allowed and that the family would have to wait for us outside. Location was good for our needs, however location for public transportation was horrible. It would at times take 20 - 30 minutes to get a tricycle willing to give us a ride to Carig Sur without overcharging. The included breakfast was mediocre at best. Rice was hard, food was cold, and several rocks were found in rice. As for the swimming pool, family is not allowed, only paid guests. Lastly, upon checkout, staff tried to charge us for an extra day saying we were leaving a day early and also for juices we had at the included breakfast buffet. Again, I had to show the Agoda printout to rectify the checkout date. We took the free shuttle to the airport. The van was nice and also air conditioned. We have stayed at many hotels in the Tuguegarao area and can say without a doubt that there are better hotels.

Went to Aparri days after typhoon Lawin passed through and to our surprise they had both power and internet at the hotel. Great staff and the food in the attached restaurant was reasonably priced and delicious. There is a nice area at the back of the property that has a large pool and cabanas. The owner is into motorcycles and music and has a few pristine motor bikes and mountain bicycles on display along with a grand piano , drum set and guitar. The rooms were clean and the ac worked great. Would recommend this hotel.

Went to Aparri for a conference and riverview royale was one of the closest hotels to the conference venue. The room was clean and comfortable enough to stay in, though the place did not offer much amenities. Breakfast was not part of my room package, but they do serve morning meals. And ironically, you can't really view the Cagayan river from your room or from the top floor. It is, after all, better to go and see the 0 km marker of the CVR and see the point where the river meets the sea. But all in all, it was a well enough stay during my visit to Aparri.

Had to climb two long flights of stairs to get to the rooms. Definitely not for the elderly or the physically handicapped. No one even helped us lug our suitcases to the rooms. No help with the luggage upon check-out either. The rooms (I had two for our party) have bare walls and cheap inadequate furnishings. The towels looked like they were used to mop the floor. There is no sheet under the blanket and is inadequate against the airconditioning. There are no shower curtains so water splashes and floods the toilet floor making it dangerous, especially for the elderly, to get to the commode or the sink. As for its location, it is about four kilometers from the city center making it difficult to buy food and supplies. We moved to another hotel the following day but did not check-out early (we were booked for two nights) because they would not give a refund. This hotel is not worth the money even on a tight budget.

The location was perfect. Being in the centre of town, you could easily walk or get transport to anywhere in the Cagayan province. Tito Oscar (the owner) was a star! He was so cheerful and welcoming when we arrived, gave us advice on the traysi fare from the airport to Balai so we wouldn't get duped, and gave us advice on the things to see and how to get around. His staff and his relatives who passed by were all so friendly. We had an amazing time in Cagayan and felt so at home. Definitely staying here again when we come back!

Office staff could not find our booking upon arrival. Proprietor got involved and found the booking, but initially said they were fully booked and did not have a room available. Proprietor then said one room is available, but it is not the type of room booked, and does not have hot water or TV (there is an old TV in the room, but it wasn't working at the time of out stay). I asked if full price applied, and the proprietor said 'well, you've already paid for it, so that's the price". The establishment did not seem too concerned that the room we have booked and paid for through Agoda was not actually available. Having no option but to proceed, we checked into the room. The room is very basic. It had a simple double bed with foam mattress. The bathroom, likewise, is of the most basic standard. It had not been cleaned thoroughly, for example, there was black sand from the beach all over the bathroom floor. There are no towels or other basic items, such as toilet tissue. There is also no seat on the toilet, just the bare ceramic rim. We asked about the restaurant, but we were advised that it had been closed since the tsunami some months beforehand. We were also told that the hotel did not presently have a cook or chef. In summary, this establishment is not for anyone who requires normal hotel accommodation. It's only saving grace is its position. Best suited to back-packer style travellers who are happy with the most basic style of accommodation, and an operator that appears to be completely disengaged from the general standards of the hospitality business.

Jury’s still out. First night on a five-night stay and already having minor issues. TV did not work because someone unplugged it from the hidden outlet. The water heater for the shower needed to be reset (quite an elaborate process for the uninitiated) so I ended up taking a cold shower. Breakfast service was uncoordinated and I had to beg their attention for about 30 minutes just to bring me coffee and my plate got cold during the wait. There are four floors and no elevator. Staff at desk and door are courteous and very helpful. The room and furnishings are aesthetically appealing, and it also smells good. House keeping did an excellent job. I think I’m beginning to enjoy my stay.
