Antique Province hotels & places to stay

Super clean. Super safe. Super friendly staff. Excellent healthy food. Always fresh bukos available. WHITE SAND BEACH! THE BEST COOLED BEER EVER! CLEAN WATER TO BATH! Very calm (no cocks singing can be heard in the morning in the rooms). No moskitos. SUPER WIFI SPEED! No brownouts. Great choice of tv channels. Even a good library in the Beach View resto. Ask for Bernie who assists you perfect to make tours or diving. Go to bus terminal Pandan/Antique, ride a tricycle for 150 pesos "special ride" with your heavy baggage and enjoy the paradise there. MUCH BETTER THAN BORACAY where you find crowds of noisy Chinese and Korean tourists and get bothered all the time by vendors. Only a small number of rooms, please book upfront there! Recommended for couples, single tourists and families with not so little children.

We arrived at the facility quite late after driving for 3 hours from Iloilo City. We were both tired and hungry but the very warm reception from the staff immediately made the long drive worth it. Thank you Jonalyn, Dennis, zsa-zsa and the rest of the staff. The pool immediately became the favorite of our little one. Food at the restaurant were delicious. We loved the tropical pizza and at php 315 for a 14" pizza, , I thought it was a steal. The filipino breakfast of pork tocino or longganisa was very good too. The coffee was 3-in-1 though, which was a bit of a let down. I would imagine brewed coffee would not be more expensive. But really it's no big deal. What made our vacation more fun and enjoyable were the super friendly, attentive and hardworking staff. Here's big cheers and thanks to all of them. We will be back when our schedule permits if only to feel once again the very warm hospitality of the people from Antique.

When we arrived the road to the resort was blocked by bridge works. We were told it had been that way for a week but no one has bothered to contact us. The only way across the river was by two planks of wood. Of the two rooms we were given one had no key to lock the door and the other leaked. After much to and fro they agreed to move people from the room with no key. When we told them of the leaking room their answer was "we know". We negotiated free breakfast for our trouble, which was only 2 pieces of toast and a coffee or juice. On our arrival we learned they had a birthday party booked under the rotunda right outside our rooms. The music and DJ were so loud our children couldn't sleep after our long journey. The facilities are run down and need updating.

I traveled with a couple from France, we arrived and were disappointed as soon as we pulled up on the tricycle, just inside the gate they were building new accommodation so it looked much like a building site, over to the pool full of leaves and a bit dirty. Shown to our rooms and were very pleased with them, we had been upgraded free of charge to beach front rooms and the patio doors oped straight on to the beach with a stunning view over the ocean. Asked about wi fi to be told it had been off sinse yesterday due to the weather, a little disappointed, the people running the place said they had sent for the owner. the owner turned up and immediately put us at ease, the pool was due to the high winds and if we wanted he would take us free of charge to a waterfall for a swim, gave us a free beer and explained he was trying but not with much luck to sort the wi fi and sent one of his staff in to town to ask when it would be fixed. He also took us on a sun set cruise (free) sadly it poured down but the jester was appreciated. He sat chatting with us all night and asked if we would like to stay another night and we agreed on a very good price, he also sorted is out with a dive the next day which we got again at a very good price. The food was very good though a little pricey. Turned up for the dive on time but things weren't ready so set off 2 hours late, the dive wasn't the best bad visibility but the dive instructor was very good and said if we didnt want to do the second dive it wasn't a problem. I didn't but 2 did. One of the divers could defend as her ears were hurting, when we went to pay for the dive he said hers was free of charge, great customer service. There was a lot of new equipment and the school is just starting, I wish him luck and hope he gets things running smoothly soon. A great place to stay and would stay again, if staying here opt for the beach front rooms.

It's an okay place to stay .. Other than that it was a clean hotel. We mentioned it to them and they promptly place a large rubber or plastic mat over the floor surface, although it made the floor of the shower quite slippery. I personally would rather travel some each day and have more of the comforts I'm accustomed to. Hope this helps anyone looking for a place in Antique.

Kayak Inn is a basic place to stay. It has bamboo huts and very basic bathroom/toilet with a bucket for a shower. In the garden there are a number of recycled metal hot tubs which Look good. I was there only one night. The mama who manages it was welcoming but didn't ask my name. Her daughters saw me to my room and brought me a mosquito net and set it up too. This should really be a permanent fixture in the rooms not a special request as its near the river. I didn't go kayaking as there isn't a guide. There's a man who runs along the river bank Instead. I did however decide to go to the waterfall. The mama said her 15 yr daughter would go with me. I didn't need anyone to go with me but she looked keen and I thought she wanted to practice her English so I said ok. In Tuno village I had to pay P50. Not a large amount but a surprise I wasn't told about. Then I was told that I would have to pay another 150 for a guide from the village. I offered to pay for the guide if he would only leave me alone and let me follow the easy and well worn track but he insisted on coming. So now I had to walk through lovely landscape looking at a man in a bright orange t shirt and a 15 yr old girl neither of whom I actually wanted or needed. The waterfall was unremarkable and on the way back I persuaded the man to leave me and go back to the village but I couldn't shake the girl off. She kept waiting for me around every corner and wouldn't go home. That Spoilt the whole for me. The mama cooked me nice dinner and when it came to pay the price was very reasonable. However as I was leaving she asked me whether I had tipped her daughter for taking me to the waterfall. That left a nasty taste and it seems they are pleasant to you only if its financially beneficial to them. It's a family who manages this place and at time there can be anything up to 12 kids hanging around. Probably wouldnt

My partner and I chanced upon the Bugang Riverside Inn after searching through Agoda and it far surpassed any of our expectations! Rooms are spacious, very clean with comfortable bed, hot shower, cable tv and mosquito nets. It's in a very relaxed location and is beautifully built using quality wood. The resort features a large sheltered restaurant/social area. The food available was simply delicious, with a large variety of options to choose from on the menu. Every meal we ate during our stay was excuisitely cooked and presented and very reasonably priced. Service was exceptional, we were never left waiting longer than a minute to receive a menu or a drink and the food arrived promptly after ordering. Very classy service. What made this resort stand out from any other we've stayed at throughout the Philippines was the owners. David and Liane are such awesome hosts and really made our stay special. David took us on a hike through the forest to an awesome swimming spot at no cost, purely to allow us to enjoy some time exploring the area. They really went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable and we were very sad to have to be leaving! If you're planning to visit Antique province then I could not recommend this place more !

The location is good since it is very near to transport terminals. Kuya Arvin (the owner) was very accomodating and was more than willing to help us enjoy our stay in Antique that time. He even insisted on trying all the possible attractions in Antique to make our stay worthwhile. The room was decent, not as good as regular hotels and resorts but it's enough for us that time. Internet connection was actually unbelievably fast though you'll only get the connection until second floor. All is well except for the low water pressure in the CR which made bathing a little uneasy.
