Pros: Good location, easy parking for driving plenty of parking outside hotel. There's coin operate washer & dryer which is very helpful! Cons: Hotel has this weird unpleasant smell. Check in process too quite long.

Standard hotel in an ok location- room was good but breakfast was terrible. Cold food and coffee that tasted like mud. Not sure why most hotels in Taiwan can’t provide a decent breakfast..? Better food at all breakfast shops and 711 to be honest.

Fairly good hotel”
The room was small but comfortable. There was only one coin-operated dryer but 2 washers in the hotel meaning you may have to wait a whole cycle for your turn to use the dryer after your clothes have finished washing. The staff was highly helpful though.

No room cleaning and quite far out of town”
The room is fine, the beds good, but they wont clean the room, so for 3 days no room cleaned, the breakfast was just OK, but our problem was a good 30min walk to the centre, and very few buses. If you have a car then its no problem, but not good if u dont.

Clean and Comfortable”
Checked-in at 7pm into the top floor room. When we returned from dinner close to 10pm Hualien was hit with a heavy downpour causing the roof top water to leak at the lift landing area. Told to change to the 9th floor for all rooms guests on the 10th at 11pm. Was quite a hazzle as the lobby staff was left with 2 guys and we have to move ecerything ourself including pillows, slipper and bottled water as there are 4 of us and the room on the 9th seemed to be for 2. As hotel has no self service washing machine we were doing our laundry at a nearby 24hr washing shop. Was an eventful night. Overall still acceptable. The check-out staff apologised and given us some gift and hotel discount voucher. Basement carpark not for big car. Self-washing machine available in hotel will be ideal. Will still come back for the cleaniness and comfortable beds.

Comfortable, Friendly & Efficient!”
The beds are very comfortable. The room is spacious, clean and quiet. The lighting is good and the room is bright. The staff are helpful and efficient. The breakfast is good with nice spread of chinese and western fare. I especially like the salad which featured local vegetables which was unique and tasty. On the downside, the hotel was not near to the town centre and one have to take a cab to get there. However, I still rate the hotel as excellent choice for a stay in Hualien.

we had a great time during our trip around Taiwan. Our time at the Lishiuan Hotel was remarkable. The staff was very friendly and helpful at every turn. They arranged visits to local attractions and made sure we were taken care of during our entire stay.

I was in Hualien when the earthquake struck! The staff were calm and organized。 They handed out towels to keep people warm, water bottles as the time went on. The manager arrived with food for us。 Could not ask for a better response in this scary situation.

Clean and Nice room, bad location. 3 stars Hotel”
Over rated 4.5 stars. Is a top quality 3 stars hotel. the restaurant is not open for lunch and dinner in the hotel. Outside restaurant close at 2pm and open at 6pm. convenient store opposite the hotel. is not convenient travelling to city centre. You need to hired a cab. The hotel staffs and the Hualien people are very friendly and helpful. it make our stay in Hualien very comfortable

Decent hotel close to city center ”
Went to Hualien on holiday. Hotel is about 5 minutes drive from the city center. Staff were friendly, breakfast was a little better than average- a little strange that they had forks but no knives, rooms were new and clean but there were no hooks/ bars to hang our towels, linens were a little rough but acceptable.

Not bad stay”
Really everything was i would say slightly above average in that all expectations were met but did not go beyond those expectations. rooms were smallish but functional and with ok views of the mountains or if your lucky a little bit of the ocean. Internet seemed to work well enough for our basic needs. I think the most demanding task was Skype. Breakfast had a not a wide ranging selection but 5-6 types of western dishes including cereals.With of course the more Chinese styled food. Stay here if fine but nothing so impressive but then again Hualien is not a big city.

Far away from the happening things...”
The hotel is very far from the happening area of Hualien as well as the train station. I arrange for pick up at the hotel but it did not turn up. We need to arrange for ourselves the cab to bring us to the right place. There is also no bus around to bring you, getting a cab can be difficult as well. However, the hotel has good view. Mountain at the back and sea view in the front. If you want a quiet hotel with good view, this could be a good choice.

Lovely roof garden”
Although not close to main sites in Hualien there are many good restaurants within 10 minutes walk and a very nice gift shop opposite with a selection of resonable priced Taiwan Rainbow Jade. This was out second stay and found it to be very good value for money.
