Everything was great, except they don't clean rooms daily. We stayed 2 night, and location was good to rent motorcycle at the shop right after the hotel, and travel to Taroko national park. We arrived to the hotel before check in time and they allowed us to drop luggage at the reception.

I was traveling with family, the hotel is old but cleanness is considered fine for me, but the room soundproofing is not good, so we have to lower our tone when talking to each other not to disturb. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Solid bet if visiting Hualien”
Close to the train station so convenient if you’re arriving/departing by train but downside is location is farther from most points of interest in Hualien. However, the hotel does provide free bike rentals as well as breakfast (however it’s very Taiwanese style so might not be to everyone’s liking). Hotel and room were both good and clean. Only issue was half of the days I was staying there no one ever came to clean my room. I found this to be a disappoint.

No Housekeeping Service”
I spent only 2 nights at this hotel on the weekend, and there was no housekeeping service to tidy up my hotel room after the first night I was there. The breakfast was not so good because I am a vegetarian, and they didn't have much options for vegetarian eaters. Also the window in the standard room I got was very small that I could barely breathe, and the bathroom smelled moly, and the room had a stench smell. The walking distance to the railroad station is pretty short.

This is most budget hotel I ever stayed. The lobby and the toilet are clean but very old. The surrounding are very quiet.

I stayed for 2 nights at Herhuan hotel during my visit to Toroko Gorge (not very worth going unless you really appreciate rock formation) and Qixitan beach (one of the most beautiful beach I have been to), before my departure next day to Cingjing farm via Taipei (I came from Taipei anyway and had to go back ;). The room was spacious and had very good facilities. The traditional Taiwanese breakfast of rice and dishes is sumptuous and delicious, a good meal to start the travel of the day. The location of the hotel is very convenient, just next to the railway station; simply walk straight after exiting, turn right after seeing the first seven-eleven shop. And the main bus station to take the city bus and the one day tourist bus to Taroko Gorge and Qixitan is just next to the train station.

herhuan hotel is close to the train station and handy for transportation, which was why we chose it. the staff is very friendly and offered coffee when we arrived. the room is good in size and clean though the decoration looks a bit of dated and there is a damp smell. the breakfast is good in choices.

Hotel is located near railway stn and lots of eateries. It is a bit old and need some refurbishment, but it is a good hotel. Room are big, breakfast good and occupancy was not good (maybe because of not so good review) but we find it a good value for money. Nearby hotel was more expensive but we think it may not be much better, just look newer.

Easy walking distance from train station, and from Tokoro Gorge bus tour station. Town centre perhaps a little too far for an evening stroll, but if you are in Hualien, it's all about Tokoro anyway. Had a few niggles about the room; no coat pegs or anywhere to put clothes except in wardrobe where hangers were fixed to the rails, raised metal bar between room and bathroom just waiting for you to stub your toe. Spare plug sockets in random places, but not near the desk area. Things that bug me, but you may go your whole stay without even noticing them! No reason for an actual complaint, but how I wish all hotel rooms around the wrold could be as well laid out as in a typical Japanese business hotel!

I will recommend this hotel as train station and many restaurants are at walkable distance. Also hotel staff is very supportive and can provide all necessary information required for travel around city. Though they don't speak English very well.. Rooms are small but good enough to have comfortable stay..Brekfast doesn't have many vegetarian choices..
