Rooms are huge and I appreciated the upgrade to my beds. Fixtures all worked and there were enough outlets around the room. There ample space in the closet and drawers to allow mid to long term stay. Navigating to the room from the lobby is a bit unusual. One takes a lift or escalator to the second floor, walks down a hallway that leads to another elevator lobby. Takes a bit longer than usual to leave the room to get to the lobby. Location is about 15 min. brisk walk to MOA but devoid of any shade so on a hot day, the pavement exacerbates the heat. It's a bit far to walk on a hot day but too close to grab a ride. Of the 4 convenience stores around the hotel, 2 are exclusively selling China products. The hotel restaurant serves decent food. Pizza, some pasta and sandwiches but limited with other dishes. There's a noodle shop that serves lunch and dinner and a hot pot that is only open at night. But are frequented by mainland Chinese so there's lots of smoking inside. No other business establishments can be found nearby.

The room was surprisingly spacious and the view was alright. We can see MOA from the hotel. The bed was neatly prepared, and there were even two televisions with cable, which was kind of nostalgic because we don't watch cable anymore. I also like the outlets, there was a lot that we can use for charging phones etc. The hotel itself is near Mall of Asia. If you like walking after a hearty meal from a restaurant, this is an ideal location. The area is pretty safe as much as we are concerned. We walked at night at around 9-10 pm. We were able to see a lot of stores near the hotel too while walking. There is a convenience store too near the hotel so you can buy your toiletries, slippers or snacks there. Their staff was nice and knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast - not too bad. Simple Filipinos style buffet breakfast Here are some issues: Swimming pool - Needs to be cleaned. We were hesitant to swim because it looked so dirty and murky. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned for a month. The pool was a bit itchy after we swam in it which was a major red flag. Bathroom - I wished there was a separator between the toilet and the shower. The bathroom mirror's table is also a bit small. If you need to do your make up, you had to put the things on the sink because there was less room. Suggestion: The hotel should hire or rent a vehicle. While we liked walking, we also needed transport going to the mall because we had heavy luggage.

Needs Improvement: - Advance notice regarding the 3K deposit requirement would have been appreciated. - The gym lacked sufficient equipment, with only one treadmill operational during the stay. - Lack of cups and towels in the gym. - Absence of music in the gym contributed to a lackluster atmosphere. - Unpleasant bathroom odor necessitating the consistent closure of the door. - Disappointing bangus ala carte breakfast portion for the price, accompanied by slow service. Found the small bangus portion to be underwhelming for the price, totaling 470 with coffee included, coupled with slow service. - The pool area's aesthetic appeal was lacking and could benefit from improvements. Overall, if traveling to the area again, I would consider revisiting this hotel for its positive aspects and addressable areas for improvement.

Disappointing”
Really took the time to write this honest review as this wasn’t the 1st time I stayed in Golden Phoenix but this time is the worst just yet. We check in here because of the value for money and the awesome location but this time was honestly not great. 1st checking in not a problem , it was really quick maybe waited in line for less than 10 minutes. However during check in we were only given 1 keycard and was confused for a moment bec i Checked in for 3 adults. Their explanation at the desk was that the hotel was fully booked so they can’t give us more than 1 and was told to maybe try to get another 1 at around 9pm. At 9pm????? What for right?? Both my parents are senior citizens so we would probably just be in the room at that time won’t bother to get another keycard. Tbh didn’t believe that reasoning for just 1 sec i hope they just said we will give you 1 keycard so you’ll be forced to remove it when you leave the room and that way they save money for electricity. Would have appreciated the honestly but rather It was very inconvenient to say the least. Second, the hallways are too hot. Was thinking why was it like that? They might be really saving every penny despite being fully booked. And lastly the thing that really just put me off was that our aircondition was dripping. Had to call housekeeping and front desk several times to follow up before it even get fixed. There was a pool of water near the bed and was honestly concerning because the aircon was so close to the electicity outlet too so I had to call so many time. Also the room didn’t really get as cold as I remember compared from the last time we stayed. The guy finally came to fix and then he said he’s gonna get someone to just clean or wipe that pool of water near the bed but no one came. I didn’t make a fuss anymore at the desk as i think it was not worth stressing too much about it as we were just staying for 1 night. Just didn’t want my dad to drive too early in the morning from the province to go fetch my brother at the airport so we booked a night here but honestly was not a good experience. I hope with this review things gets changed or service gets better.
