As the hotel staff speaks very limited English, it took us a lot of time to get the free shuttle bus timetable between Yongpyong resort and Hoenggye bus station (close to AM hotel). The bus departs from Yongpyong resort (Blisshill, 1st Floor, bus parking lot) at 9, 10, 11, 13, 15, 16, 17, 18.20, 19.30, 20.30, 21.40, 22.40, 0.30, 0.50. The bus departs from Hoenggye (a post office, abt 10 min walking from AM hotel) at 5.20, 6.20, 7.20, 8, 8.30, 9.40, 10.20, 12, 14, 15.30, 16.20, 17.40, 18.50, 20, 21, 23.30.

We had the best stay at the Green and Blue hotel. The staff are fantastic and speak perfect English. They went above and beyond to help us numerous occasions. The hotel is located about a ten minute drive from the ski resort and there are numerous shuttles/taxis to take you up there. The hotel was great and the breakfast was also very nice. The owners also have a rental shop which is much cheaper than renting up at the resort. They also provide discounted tickets for the ski lifts. Overall this was a fantastic experience and I am looking forward to our next visit.

Ones views would depend on your type of travel and when.. I as a solo traveler purely to ski did not have transport, relied on publlc transport (free shuttle bus to the ski resort 6km) which is excellent. Hoenggye is just a town and the pension is a rather brisk 10 minute walk to town. This is fine but if having to walk after dark in early February, it is pretty cold and not really something I wanted to do. So, if you take most of what you can prepare and eat, the facilities are fine. Microwave, rice cooker, kettle, one stove plate.(the host, Kim, asks that one does not cook fish or meat) The standard room I had alone would be perfect even for a couple. It is quite big, with a good shower room. The tv has some English channels, movies, news and sport. The room was spotlessly clean. Kim the host speaks no English but she uses a mobile translator so it is possible to communicate. She is a pleasant woman and will help with about anything that you ask. I will return and stay again.

The hotel is so new that there wasn't a website available when we booked it. Its a wonderful option if you are skiing in Alpensia. Their free shuttle is wonderful (the shuttle was full and the hotel kindly cars to send us to Alpensia anyways). The loft is a great for more bedspace but it would be better if they don't charge us for the extra bedding (33,000KRW per night). The convenience store right on site also makes is very convenient. Breakfast is also nice. Beds and pillows can be better though. We had dinner there after skiing on both nights and food was excellent. One thing I would recommend is to offer a more frequently shuttle schedule to Alpensia and YongPyong during the day (perhaps every hour on request?) so that it would make it much more convenient for the guests to commute back and forth. Overall, I really love this hotel and would definitely stay here again when I come to Pyeongchang next time.

The best time to visit would be during winter for a skiing trip. This resort is about 3 hrs drive from Seoul. You start to get an impression of how wonderful the place would be about 45 minutes before you actually arrive at the ski resort. It gets more mountainous and the great white plain of snow clearly tells you that you are entering a wonderful part of the country. The hotel is situated right at the foothills of the ski resort and right at the heart of it too. Impressive!! The hotel staff greeted us warmly and the hospitality they afforded us show why they are voted one of the best hotels in Korea. One of our room overlooks the ski hills and its is awe inspiring. Makes you want to change and get to the ski hills right away. The view was just magnificent. We highly recommend getting a room with this beautiful view. The next morning it snowed and it is just delightful. We wish we could stay one more night!! It is easy to see why this city has won the right to host the Winter Olympics 2018. We cannot wait to visit it again.

best location, I take the KTX to Jinbu station and take shuttle bus to YongPyeong Resort, the shuttle bus was stopped at the car park which beside YongPyeong Resort Tower Condo, it's very convenience., just 1 mins walking distance. It's take 3mins walking distance from resort to ski entrance. A supermarket and few restaurant in the tower. Room is clean with stable heater.

We had a great great stay, then extended our stay... then at Christmas they were fully booked and we had no option but to move. We ended up booking again to return to the hotel for the rest of our trip when they had room again. Mr. Oh and family/staff were so so nice and helpful. Took time to show us some local areas that we would not have seen without their help. Mr. Oh spoke the best English of anyone we met on our 24 day trip in Korea. Hotel is close to stores and shops. Close to Yong Pyong Ski Resort bus stop. Hotel internet worked better/faster than my internet at home. Our 2 sons (age 10 and 12) were unhappy when we had to move to another hotel. The 10 year old turned 11 on the trip and Mr. Oh and family/staff helped us give him a birthday party. If we ever make it back to the area, we will hope to stay there again.

1. I booked double room for 3 people. First, our room is really large and comfortable for 3 people. The facilities in the room is amazing. You'll find that you can stay there for a week because you have all kitchenware for cooking, free toiletries and towel. We're very pleasant with our cleanliness, cozy, beautiful room. We had good breakfast with reasonable price. The surrounding scenery is exceptional and the hill behind this pension is a place for sledding in winter. 2. This place is close to Hoenggye intercity bus terminal that you can take taxi from there for around 10 minutes. From Hoenggye terminal, we took free bus to Daegwallyeong sheep farm and Yongpyong ski resort. 3. Mr. Kim, who is the most impressive service provider. I feel appreciate with every helpful, kind, and his beyond expectation service. We arrived there at night, he sent us his address that it's easy for us to talk with the taxi driver. After we got there, he cooked us free Korean noodle and ordered chicken for us. It's delicious. I went to Pyeongchang by intercity bus and left my bag on that bus. Because of him, I got my bag back with nothing lost. In the morning, he drove us Hoenggye bus terminal for free again. I couldn't thank you enough.

We didn't rent a car in Korea this time (which I think we should do next time...) hence we took the shuttle bus directly from the Gimpo airport and only manage to arrive Daegwalnyeong at around 7pm (better check the shuttle bus schedule first, we spent 3 hours waiting for the shutttle...The shuttle bus stopped at the Alpensia Resort, and the staff at Holiday Inn helped us to contact the Pension host and the owner just drove over pick us up very quickly! (that was a bloody cold and windy night, and we were carrying 2 full sets of snowboarding gear and 2 luggages...gosh!). The pension is located on a small hill, but just 10mins walk to the downtown where you can find nice Korean food, grocery shops and gear rental shops. The next morning the host also drove us to the YongPyong Resort for snowboarding (around 15mins drive away from the pension), the next few days we went with the resort's shuttle bus where the bus stop also very close to the pension). The host also came pick us up from the bus stop after our last day of snowboarding (he just waited there without letting us know in advance, so sweet). and send us to the intercity bus station on the day we left. Never been staying at a pension with such a nice host before! If they could offer breakfast at a cost the pension is perfect for budget stay.

It was our 2nd year anniversary and we had a great stay at the ski resort with amenities just round the corner. There is a Cheesemaking session below the resort (Cheese story) which I would strongly recommend to family and couples. :) The room was large and spacious. We are lucky to get a mountain view. Room service speed and quality is excellent. We couldn't ask for more for the quality of the room and its location. The only thing is that counter staff could only understand simple english sometimes we have communication hiccup when comes to booking for shuttle bus to Seoul or Airport. The hotel should provide a better communication and help us take bookings for the shuttle bus transport instead of booking through the bus company directly (who has problem communicating in English).

Room was large, with sofa and bed was absolutely comfortable. Hotel even had the option to opt for the type of pillow you'd like, foc. Hotel staff was helpful and prompt in replying emails prior to trip departure. They constantly smiled and greeted us in the hotel. We borrowed 2 international adaptors without any trouble. Hotel wifi wasn't free- 7,000won for 24 hrs but the speed connection was very fast. Hotel is walking distance to all the restaurants and ski house (which are all located in the premise of Holiday Inn actually). Ski house offered 30% discount off the ski gear, clothing, ski pass as long as you are a hotel guest. Hotel does not have a swimming pool but there's a water theme park just nearby. Best part of the hotel stay was definitely the bed!

My boyfriend and I spent 4 nights here over Christmas and really enjoyed our stay. The room was really comfortable and warm (-15C weather outside) with a small kitchenette ideal for making breakfast. The hotel is a little out of the way but run by an extremely friendly and helpful couple who happily called taxis for us and even drove us to Yongpyong on a few occasions. They dont speak any English but we easily got past this. I recommend this hotel to anyone on a budget wanting to stay near YongPyong.

I had the best experience staying at Pungcha & Herb Pension the night of the Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony. My room was beautiful and had an amazing view. On top of that, the owner drove me from the house to the Olympic stadium then to a bus stop the next day because transportation was so hard to get due to the event. I had a wonderful experience and I hope to stay there again someday soon.

I was traveling alone and chose this hotel to stay close to the ski areas. It turned out that the hotel will drive you to either of the ski areas, Alpensia or YongPyong and pick you up. They shuttle people around 8:30-9, 5:00-5:30, and 9:00pm on request. The room was so cute and even had a fridge, cooking range, rice cooker, bowls, plates, etc.., as well as toiletries. The room was a little hot with the floor heating, but when I cracked open the balcony window, it was okay. The entire hotel is decorated like a Swiss Chalet. It is a 15 minute walk from the Alpensia town and ski slopes. Taxi's in the area cost around 10,000, but the hotel shuttle service was perfect. The breakfast was really good with eggs, toast, soup, scones, cereal, coleslaw and fresh fruit. There was also juice and coffee. The hotel will sell you lift tickets for both ski resorts at a discounted price for any of the ski times offered for the regular tickets. I didn't know this when I skied before checking in. They also have a dinner menu or several restaurants are 15 minutes walking in the Alpensia town. They didn't make up the room every day, but it wasn't a problem. They provided a large towel on request. They were really attentive to my needs and did their best to accommodate. The place is sort of a cozy guest house, with a fireplace, piano, cute sitting area, and trinkets neatly placed all around. The owner's wife went out of her way to buy my lift tickets and even help me carry my bags inside the ski resort to a locker when she saw I was alone and carrying many things. I recommend this place for solo travelers, families, couples, or anybody. It was a great experience. I would stay again.

We checked in the resort on the 5th Dec for 2 nights. We really appreciate the build up of the resort. Very detailed and it scores in many aspects: the bathroom, the water supply, the heater, the attic, the room deco. Everyone was amazed by this beautiful resort upon arrival, after entering the rooms, and going up into the attics. Especially the kids. The walk way next to the stream is scenic too. You can tell the owner is very detailed and thoughtful. And indeed they are. AJ the son can speak good English and he is more than happy to guide us. Although transportation was provided to the ski resort, we drove ourselves since we used rental cars and we did not find difficulty traveling around the area. We can use the washing machine at the resort too. And detergent was provided. Luckiest of all, it snowed the night we arrived and the kids were so happy to experience the snow for the first time. The resort was really beautiful the next day morning after snowing. A big thank you to AJ and his parents for this beautiful resort!

The property is new and very clean. We get the whole 2 level terrace house with a private garage. This is ideal for those who drive or can make arrangements for pickup. Everything would have been perfect if they have a washing machine as we had a long stay of 6 days. The town is about 10 minutes drive for restaurants and supermarket. The staff speaks English which is a plus.

Our stay here was great. We are a family of 4 avid snowsports people who experienced Korean skiing/snowboarding for the first time. We rented a car and upon pulling up in front of the property Mrs. Won (the awesome little Korean landlady) came running out to greet us by name and introduced us to the pension. She also hopped in the car and we followed her to the rental place the next morning. This was the only downside to the stay as we previously skied in Phoenix Park and the rental place (Snow Valley) had a much greater range of gear and the staff were much more friendly. It was close enough to the ski fields to allow for a reasonably early morning wake-up and breakfast!

FACILITY: This is a brand new property that feels about 70 percent completed. There is still some construction on parts of the property that need to be competed. ROOM: The unit we rented (Three bedroom Spa Suite) was amazing. Clean, brand new, fast wifi, all appliances you could need (except laundry, not installed yet). Huge TV. The staff are very responsive and attentive. When we had concerns, they sent someone to the room within 5 minutes to fix the issue. I would 100% recommend this to a friend. Also, the Italian restaurant on the property was excellent, as was the Korean Restaurant. Ten minute walk to Olympic Stadium.
