Vanuatu hotels & accommodations

We stayed at Nasama Resort for 6 nights in late March. Both having never been to Vanuatu before were unsure what to expect but upon leaving the airport when we landed to flying back to the Gold Coast the Vanuatu people were amazing. Arriving at the hotel via taxi the reception staff were fantastic. We were checked into our beachview studio immediately and were so pleas...

Absolutely loved our stay in Coco Beach. Such a beautiful location, even though it’s 15 mins from PV town. Snorkeling straight off the beach was amazing, especially at the end of the channel! Coral and LOTS of fish, the water is absolutely beautiful! Our beach front fare was simple but very comfortable, with a super comfy bed, fell asleep every night to the sound of wa...

Staff were extremely friendly and were happy to try to facilitate any request. Wi-Fi worked well and the bar is on the beach and next to the pool. Villas are not Air Conditioned but have fans and mosquito nets ( which you need ). Bed was comfy and transport to the CBD of Port VIlla is always at the front of the resort via Bus or Taxi. If you have never been to Vanuat...

Perfect waterfront location, with lovely outdoor dining area, bar and swimming pool to relax , unwind and enjoy the view. The continental breakfast of tropical fruit, cereal, toast + spreads, cakes and pancakes, is included in the price, and is a lovely way to start the day. The hotel rooms are neat, clean and compact, and are ideal for those who are out and about duri...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Havannah. It was our first time to Vanuatu and it won't be the last. The friendly staff and service was excellent. The food was awesome. We enjoyed our romantic dinner & bonfire on the beach for my husbands 50th Birthday, and the boat trip to a remote beach on Moso Island for a picnic lunch We have already recommended this hote...

Great place, good facilities, very comfortable with a good view, but that comes with it being a fairly steep walk up hill from the main part of town. Food is excellent, though not cheap, but that's common in Vanuatu. The staff are really good - helpful, friendly and as I was leaving on a late afternoon flight I didn't need to check out until just before heading to t...

The resort and the grounds were immaculately presented. Our bungalow was very clean and comfortable and having the private pool and balcony was perfect. All the staff were very professional, helpful and friendly. We would like to say Thank You to the staff that we had the pleasure to meet and get to know over our time, Thomas, Karl, Irene and the front desk staff. T...

A compact hotel, with a range of budget rooms set around a lovely tropical garden and pool. The simple continental breakfast in the pretty outdoor, thatched dining shelter is a lovely, relaxed way to start the day - fruit, biscuits, weetbix, toast + jam, milo, juice, tea and coffee, is included in the price. The rooms are neat and tidy with access to limited wifi, but...

Had a lovely stay - but be aware you are 100% paying for the location. The Villa was scrupulously clean, Joy and her staff wonderful, breakfast was generous and delicious. But Vanuatu is a small island and tourism and self-sufficiency are the only two trades. Food is very very expensive, more than Australia, this is no Bali or Phuket! And that is OK, because everythi...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Seachange Lodge. Ian and staff were extremely friendly and helpful, suggesting great places for us to visit and dine. Ian even repaired our hire cars flat tyre, which was a huge help to me traveling alone with my four young children. A terrific place to stay (we loved the swimming pool), which helped make our visit to Vanuatu fabulous....

Vanuatu is not the place for you if you're finicky about things, but if you can just go with the flow, there are some great places to stay at and things to do. Village de Santo was adequate for our needs, not everything was perfect, but when you travel - things rarely go exactly to plan. We had a comfortable stay, food was acceptable, staff were friendly and helpful an...

The location was perfect, only 20 minutes from the airport and we were in the middle of paradise. Crystal blue water all around the Warwick and access to free water activities was a plus. There is a little island opposite you can canoe over to for lunch or afternoon drinks. The visibility is incredible, so many starfish. The pool was lovely and the pool bar offered ...

Very unprofessional. We booked our honeymoon here and received no confirmation. I tried contacting them many many times to confirm the booking with no response. A month out from the honeymoon I was forced to book elsewhere as I didn't want to risk showing up for our honeymoon with no accommodation. A week after our intended stay, we received a bill for a no-show. It to...

The restaurant was very nice and affordable for food and drinks, staff were accomodating. Gaetan was very impressive with customer service skills and friendly demeanour, took the time and effort to remember us by name and always smiled and was friendly and approachable. The air conditioning was a wonderful plus in the hot humidity and rooms were always cleaned to a hi...

My girlfriend and I booked this place last minute (the day of) and got a room with shared facilities for $75 through Agoda. So cheap! 😮 Staying here is cheaper than visiting for the day. STAY HERE! They throw in FREE snorkeling, scuba diving tours, glass floor boat tours, and other stuff. The sunset ☀️ and sunrise 🌅 is utterly breathtaking and it is so quiet. ...

Single best snorkelling spot from out 2 week holiday in Vanuatu. 30meters from the beach front is a great lagoon with heaps of fish, caverns, reef, bombies, coral, etc. We spent the whole time snorkelling and they back up to the bar for beers and cocktails and enjoying the wonderful view.

The food cooked by chef John ,met all our needs , very tasty , well presented. manager Janelle, if Vanuatu was a product ,this lady knows it, sells it so well, but with her local knowledge and bubbly personality as clients, patrons at travellers we are true winners. Ask me would I go there again for sure I will as soon as I can I will. Jack and Janelle their Staff al s...

We just arrived home yesterday and I could not wait to write this review! The Grand hotel & Casino far exceeded our expectations. The view from the panoramic rooms are breathtaking and we absolutely loved waking up to an incredible view every morning. The sunsets were to die for as well! The hotel is so conveniently located to everything and the staff were so warm and...

You will have your own private reef with an abundance of fish. Esline started feeding them a couple years ago and has even planted some coral gardens and the diversity and number of fish we saw was incredible and it's literally on your doorstep. She provides yummy breakfast, snorkling gear and a nice little secluded part of Santo. Lee the groundskeeper is great, very a...

Room was large and clean. Staff were helpful. Bed was low and very firm. Some upper floor rooms have views of the harbour. Appreciated the nice pool area. As for all of Vanuatu food and drinks are quite limited and expensive. The self catering option was appreciated.

I travelled to Vanuatu for a conference. Great things are as above. The staff although overwhelmed with the influx of people checking in were friendly. Continental breakfast was lovely with a selection of pastries and fruit with Vanuatu coffee. Things to be aware of: 1 the roosters crow at all hours of the night so if you're a light sleeper, take your ear plugs.i didn'...

We have found the staff and management to be very approachable and helpful. They certainly went out of their way to sort out a few issues for us. We have visited a few restaurants in vanuatu and have stayed at other resorts previously and have found food to be 1, too expensive and 2 not tasty. The restaurant food at the Lagoon Resort is certainly much, much better. It ...

This was a property that looked great on paper with a potential colonial feel to it. Rooms basic with basic problems. Room was not very private with staff talking outside and a light that kept going on and off. Breakfast on porch with a good aspect of the harbor.
Cheap places to stay in Vanuatu

I had a conference down the road at Warwick and stayed twin share with a colleague to save some cash. It was easy to get to and from airport and town. I quickly got use to the "bus" system. Going rate was 150-200VT. There are local kava huts next door (red bucket lights). 1nomakas bakery 30min walk up the hill has cheap beef and egg rolls 150VT. People in Vanuatu are ...

People in Vanuatu are so friendly but it was hard to get stout booked they don't like to force sell things to you. They come across very shy but we found that the market was very good for fresh fruits and local meals. When the cruise ships roll into town you can feel the buzz in the people. Our room was good for the price they didn't realize we booked a fan room and ...

The girl at the check in was really nice, but also kept really close because I had to pay in cash and I still had to go to the atm to get it and she came with me. Either because she was nice or because she wanted to make sure I get the cash. I paid the same evening but in the supermarket since she left. The hotel is huge but there were only 2 guests. I booked a dorm bu...

After "roughing it" for a few nights at the base of Mt Yasur, staying at Alofa was like being in the lap of luxury with electricity and hot water! :-) You can see the beautiful white sand beach from the bungalow (good swimming area just a short walk down the beach) and the gardens around the grounds are beautifully maintained. Sam and Sabrina and their team took very g...

Our entire trip to Vanuatu was made all the better thanks to Pasi Lodge. This was the last leg of our 3-month South Pacific tour, and it was easily the best spot in all our travels. Having your own apartment is awesome no matter where you are, but with an outdoor patio, two comfy beds, a cooking area, and living room, it was like having your own place in Vanuatu. Plus,...

Le Life Resort has a fantastic view from the restaurant area and each of the bungalows, with the ocean immediately in front of it just steps away. It has the best natural ocean swimming pool I've ever seen - large, sandy bottom, close to shore, easy to access, reasonable depth (up to armpits), warm water, gentle / calm waves (whilst loud, big waves crash 50 metres in f...

I was so happy with my choice because I was looking for somewhere I could relax on the beach and feel at home as opposed to a big hotel! The natural setting of these bungalows offered peace & quiet, access to local sites, convenient transport, an opportunity to experience Vanuatu as if I lived there! I will definitely be back with my family and friends! I found the bun...

We absolutely loved Tranquility! Staff were amazingly considerate, thoughtful, polite and welcoming. Douglas cooks incredible meals every day and Joe and Sun are the loveliest managers we've ever had the pleasure to stay with. The island is a stunning, isolated paradise where you can be the only ones on the beach or only divers underwater. Marine life is abundant - s...

We loved our stay there! It’s in a good location on the island and the resort it really pretty. You can see the ocean from your bedroom window and hear the sound of waves at night. Food was great and staff were really friendly. I would recommend hiring a car for your stay though as there’s nothing around the resort and you will need it to get to other attractions on th...

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, I honestly don't have enough words for how welcomed we felt. The owners were very welcoming and would always stop to say hi and have a chat, your customer service is just brilliant! This hotel is beautiful, easy to travel to, close to town and they have a great restaurant. Above all the great amenities they have the best staff. The staff are friendly, helpful and loving. It didn’t feel like a hotel it felt like a home. Florena was our personal favourite. She exudes love. We absolutely loved our stay and cannot wait to come back.

Felt at home straight away, topped off our trip. Quiet, a bit out of town. Great for us. Spent last 3 nights of our 2 week trip here. Lovely upper room over looking lagoon. Great to come out in the morning and sit on the balcony. All food in Vanuatu is expensive, but so often sub standard, not here, wonderful every time. Good abundant breakfast of fruits, croissants, t...

My family and I (Partner and 2 kids aged 9 and 12) recently stayed at the Vanuatu Beachfront apartments. We stayed in the Ocean View Apartment (2 br) which were very clean and had all the amenities we needed. Step back to the 1960s in the South Pacific, but now with wi-fi. Fan rooms step straight into the lovely garden with a big pool and huge trees. Walk over the road to the waterfront park. And it's right in town, but quiet. The breakfast could be a bit better, for the price. But overall, it's sooo relaxing.

we booked to stay and chantilly's after reading the many favorable comments on trip advisor and we were very happy with our selection. after trying a couple of other restaurants in port villa we confirmed that tilly's is the best. the location of chantilly's is great, close to everything and easy to catch local buses if we didn't want to walk. we organised all our a...

We have stayed for 5 nights and loved the resort so much. It is stress-free from the moment we have arrived. They took us to our room straight away without asking our names. It has the best locations. There are so many colourful fish, star fish, sea cucumber, live coral and many other sea creatures around the jetty, which is literally 3 meters away from our breakfast ...

Pros: onsite restaurant and activities booking is very convenient for guests. Things are well organized and staff is very professional. Chris and Chuck who runs the Blue Cave tour for the resort are excellent, very helpful in the open water with strong waves (saved my life). Facilities are gorgeous and closed to the airport given that if you stay at the cheaper accommo...

We went as a special holiday for my 40th birthday, which I told them prior and we choose the island based on the individual secluded bungalows shown on their website. BUT we were given the room closest to the kids playground and when I said we're travelling without kids so wanted privacy she told us we wouldn't hear them. WRONG - I heard every bounce of the trampoline,...

No frllls, no nonsense accommodation. Not luxury, but comfortable, and very good value for money. Jacinda went out of her way to make me feel welcomed and to make my stay comfortable, for example providing breakfast provisions, and DVDs when there was a TV failure.. Only negative is that hill you have to walk up to walk to the town centre! But that's Port Vila!

We had the Junior Suite which I highly recommend for the extra space. A beautiful location over looking the lagoon. Staff are friendly and willing to help. Food and beverage prices indicative of a resort, where you expect to pay more. Would be happy to stay again when next in Vanuatu.
Luxury hotels in Vanuatu

I have to admit, my holiday in Vanuatu wasn't anything special, certainly some highlights, but nothing I thought I would return for. However, at the end of our trip, we stayed at Lope Lope and it was probably the best part of the entire trip for me. The location was glorious, right on a nice protected beach, each of the beachfront bungalows had their own private outdoo...
