After a week in Venice, celebrating my mother's birthday along with my wife, we journeyed to Slovenia to spend 3 days exploring Ljubljana and its surrounding towns. We'd booked Dvor Tacen based on the strength of other reviews and the fact that it was technically in Ljubljana but wasn't directly downtown (we had a car, but if you don't, there's a bus line directly in front that will take you to downtown in 10-15 minutes). We arrived exhausted, were greeted by an extremely helpful employee name Tina, and then went up to our rooms. There are 7 rooms total and both of our rooms were exceptional: large, with soothing lighter woods, clean, comfortable beds and bedding (the most comfortable of our trip), a wonderful shower, and windows everywhere. The hotel overlooks the Sava river and because we had fairly heavy rain on our last day, the river was churning quite impressively. On a sunny afternoon, we ran for an hour through farms and neighborhoods near the bed and breakfast: we count those views and dappled sunlight among the highlights of the trip. Breakfast is on the basement level of the hotel, and it seems to be enjoyed by neighborhood visitors and other travelers too. We initially were concerned of nighttime noise associated with the restaurant (it becomes a bar and cafe (good desserts!) at night), but the windows are excellent and we weren't bothered at all. I'd highly recommend staying here--it allows you a chance to see an urban and rural environment without sacrificing amenities or natural beauty.

Really great hotel - seems to be the perfect size and blend of professional and familial. The breakfast is excellent, the rooms are really nice and well-appointed. The whole property is immaculately clean and neat. The service and staff are really exceptional, and do a great job to make everyone feel at home and cater to their needs. We were so happy here on our short break we cancelled another local Ljubljana hotel and came back for an extra night!

Bovec is not a big town, especially in fall when I was staying was very quiet. This hotel is just a mere 300 meters away from main street where all the shops and restaurants are. Location is great with all the mountain views around, it's so refreshing to wake up to in the morning. Room is very spacious and clean. Breakfast is not the best I've seen but it should fill you up long enough. The owners who run the place are also some of the nicest people I have conversation with in Slovenia.

We had a lovely time during our 4 nights at Hotel Nox! We stayed on the brand new third floor, so our room was impeccable: clean, spacious and modern, we loved the styling (every room is different) and space. The bathroom was particularly clean, with lots of light. We even had a balcony! Definitely a very cosy, comfortable place to stay. The Hotel is situated by the road (thought noise was not a problem). It's possible to take a bus into town; this takes 20 minutes – though note that you'll need to have a Ljubljana "LPP" travel card already (you can buy one from the "Petrol" gas station down the street). The staff were exceptional, particularly John/Jean – incredibly friendly, chatty and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble (even a Cappuccino at 11pm!). Breakfast was great, with plenty of fruit, coffee, tea, etc. Parking was easy too. Would definitely recommend staying here!

We were greeted with a less than friendly arrival. Apparently we were meant to check in before 10pm but that was not mentioned on either email we had received in advance and was not possible due to flight times. There was no reason for the rudeness we encountered and left us with a very negative feeling towards Vila Mia. The room itself was small but adequate. The curtain did not block any light which does not help in the summer. The bed was not comfortable and the single pillow on the bed was flat and pointless. Outside, although there are three apartments, there are only two parking spaces available. This could be resolved by clearly marking spaces instead of letting guests park poorly and blocking the drive. Overall, our initial impression spoiled what might have been a good stay. Our friends stayed at the Old Parish House which served a great breakfast, had lots of parking and charming staff...stay there instead.

Very nice greeting with explanation of apartment (tv, internet etc) and places to see in the area. Great map & binder listing closest grocery store, best cream cake, etc. Porch very pretty. Easily walkable to all the sites we wanted to see. Parking right in front of front door. Internet signal (at least in our apartment, on 2nd floor looking out front of building) was weak and had difficulty connecting at times, that’s my only negative, otherwise was fantastic!

The stay was excellent. The receptionist helped us in so many ways: we wanted to leave a day early to catch a boat trip and he arranged that with no problems. There was no parking left for my car and he arranged a special parking for us. And they also provided us with a lunch "take-away" on the last day when we left before the breakfast. All in all, great service, highly recommended!

The apartment is just perfect for our stay in Bled. It is located in a centre area in Bled with supermarket nearby and just 10 mins walk to the lake. The apartment is clean with a refreshing smell. It is just the same as the pictures. (actually better!) The bed is comfortable and the house is equipped with everything you need. We love the terrance the most. You can see the castle far away. It is so enjoyable to have breakfast there. The breakfast is at extra charge but it definitely worth it. Last but not least, the host Sasa has been so helpful and welcoming. She helped us with all the enquiries that we have. Our communication was so smooth both before we check-in and during our stay. Sasa also has two free bikes for us to travel around the lake which saved us a lot of time. Definitely recommend this place for everyone who is visiting Lake Bled. You won't regret it! We will definitely stay here again if we come back to Bled!

The staff in this hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. They spoke and understood English well. I would certainly stay here again. I was booked for Bed and Breakfast but after wandering about Bled I chose the option of Dinner for 13euros in the hotel and was very glad I had made this choice. It was excellent value for money. It is in a very convenient situation. quite quiet but only about 2 minutes walk to the shops. The main bus station was just round the corner. If you stay here do not miss coffee and cake 2 minutes away, round the corner and up the hill in the baker's shop. It is delicious!!

This little hotel really took us by surprise, we had booked a small double room as it was just for the one night passing through Lake Bled so we weren't expecting much but we loved it so much we stayed an extra night. The staff were really good, we arrived late at about 8:30pm and they hadn't received our booking from Agoda, but that was ok they sorted it out and gave us a room, luckily they had availability. The room was small but we expected that as we booked a small double but it was clean and the rest of the place made up for it. The restaurant/bar downstairs was so nice, the ambience was warm and inviting, the staff were lovely. It was late like 9:30pm and it was no problem to still have dinner. The food was amazing, everything was first class, the pasta & risotto I had was better than I had found through Italy, the desserts divine and the coffee's and hot chocolate superb, we can't say enough about it. The location right on the Lake is amazing. Would have stayed a week if we could. Highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel itself is fairly standard, and the rooms are large, comfortable, and clean. But the establishment gets bonus points for its extraordinary staff, which made me feel so welcome in Postojna. One of the employees even drove me to the train station because it was too early in the morning to get a taxi (apparently, there are only a handful available in town). If I ever make it back to Postojna, I wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else. Oh, and it's walking distance to the caves, which is a huge plus.

We had a great time at this hotel. While it was showing its age and a bit of lack of maintenance- or lack of having invested in quality items during the initial refurbishment of this very old apartment building- it was charming. The rooms were huge, including a full-kitchen with electric stove, simple set of pots, pans, dishes, glasses, and silverware. The mini refridgerator was just large enough to put some personal items inside along with the mini-bar drinks. The bathroom was a bit odd; it was quite noisy and the shower very old (no bathtub as advertised) so we were not happy with that, but the other rooms were so large it was an ok balance at the end. We used the gym one night, and it was very modern. The breakfast was just 5 euro per person, with heaps of fruits, meat selection, breads, and pastries. Even though the bathroom set-up was poor, we will return again because the rooms were large and for the convenient location.

This one of the best apartments I have stayed.the owners are very friendly and helpful.they picked us up from the airport for a very nominal fee.too us to city and bought us back with their son who was going to university she helped us to find trains to go to Italy and took us to station free of charge.prepared lovely breakfast every day.the village is very beautiful.i would love to visit Slovania and stay there.

Lasko. Resort town. IMHO, Vila Monet beats the nearby hotels hands down. Including the more expensive one with the thermal pools which is within a minute walk which I went! This is a winner! Free parking for drivers. Supremely satisfied. Huge bathroom. Use the heater to dry off your washed undies. Visit it and you'll see. Genius design. Highest recommendation. Wish I could stay longer.......I could go back... yes!
