Booked for my aunt and uncle for short trip in Hualien. Glad the location is convenient for them to move around in city. There is a supermarket and 7-11 just opposite hotel. They enjoyed hotel breakfast as well.

Lovely hotel located in a walking distance from the train station. The hotel is very neat and room is comfy and clean. The best thing ever is the breakfast. You can also borrow bicycle from the hotel or rent a motorbike near by. Highly recommended for travelers. Will definitely come back again.

Hotel was walking distance away from Hualien bus and train station. Which is ideal when heading to Taroko Gorge. Staff are courteous and friendly as well. Many food options and convenience stores nearby too.

Great value”
The room was clean and it is very close to the rail station. It is a 20 to 30 min walk to the night market. There are some very nice breakfast shops nearby and both a Family Mart and Seven Eleven, so breakfast is not really worth it unless you need the convenience (it was going to cost an extra 200 NT per room for breakfast for me, so do check on that). The double is literally two double beds shoved next to each other to make a king bed. The in room tea is TenRen and they have complimentary mochi. My only real criticism is there is no lighter curtain, so either you are fully exposed or curtains have to be closed. So no way to get light in without sacrificing privacy. The room was very clean .

We nabbed a last-minute booking discount in late December (low season) which made this very good hotel incredible value. Breakfast was fantastic, and staff put us on to an excellent tour guide for Taroko Gorge with less than a day's notice.

Disappointed. Arrived at 4.00 PM to find rooms not ready. Had to wait over an hour before we could get into rooms. Bad odour on floor indicating damp and mould.

Lovely hotel & service”
i was apprehensive when i arrived in hualien, wondering what the hotel and place will be like. when i went to the tourist information centre, a guy pointed out the location of classic city resort to me. the hotel side view with the chinese word "jing dian" looks kinda typical of all taiwan hotels. upon arrival at the hotel, i noticed many umbrellas (about 12nos) placed openly in a box outside the hotel (without any person looking after it). i supposed these umbrellas are for the hotel guest usage. prior to this, i didn't know the passer-bys (non hotel guest) in city of hualien do not conveniently take these umbrellas for use. wow, the place is so safe that umbrellas placed outside will not be lost. the biggest surprise was when i entered the hotel room. the decor and the finishing was very new. the place was kept clean and smells clean. the hotel staffs were pleasant, were most patient and extremely clear in their reply, when answering my numerous queries about map, directions to my destinations. this was so unlike my stay in taipei ymca (also known as y-hotel). as a non chinese foreign visitor, i find the chinese in taiwan spoken a little too fast. in classic city, their staffs seemed to a be aware, and they spoke clear and simple chinese when giving direction via map handouts to a first time visitor to hualien like me. the bed and pillow though were a little too soft for our liking (my wife, me and son). a firmer bed and pillow like those we had in ymca taipei ensure we had a good rest for the next day's itinerary. that is a minus point for us. but for a cheaper hotel price compared to ymca taipei, classic city provide daily free breakfast! the range of items was good, its coffee machine with fresh coffee bean was great. there were cereals, fresh fruits, cooked dishes, toasted breads, chilled orange drink, local dishes, etc..

Simple yet clean and comfortable room”
Stay was good. Hotel is about 5 mins walk from the train station which connects to other cities in Taiwan. Hualien is a laid back city with lots of breathtaking sceneries to offer. There isnt much restaurants around the hotel though but the hotel provide free bicycle rentals and so you can rent a bicycle and cycle around for restaurants. The room at Classic Hotel City Resort was relatively big and cleanliness was tip top. Beds were comfortable and there's free WIFI in the rooms. Breakfast buffet was equally good with a wide selection and yes for the price of the rooms, yes I will be back staying at the same hotel if I were to visit Hualien.

Possibly one for the best 4 star hotel”
This is our first stop in our trip. By the time we arrived in Hualien, it was late afternoon so we "cleverly" decided to book this hotel as a layover before our actual adventure in the Taroko Gouge the very next day. At a first glance, the place seemed deserted. We attributed that to being the off peak season. Although I speak Chinese, I naughtily spoke in English to see what would happen. We were pleasantly surprised by the service from the friendly staff. Although their English was not perfect, it was sufficient and they more than made up with their hospitality, something you don't see very often in Singapore. Really!!! In Singapore, you could literally get waved to stand at a corner if you are not understood in some hotels. The wave here means "I don't understand you so stand there and somebody will come talk to you". Throwing dagger eyes back at the staff won't help. They are very good at ignoring "unpleasant" guests. I digress. Back to our lovely Classic Hotel. The room was superb to a 5 star standard. Bed was soft. I have learnt that beds are probably the most important hotel amenity we should pay attention to for a 4 star hotel since logically speaking, you will be "making use" of this amenity at least 7 hours a day. Hard and strange smelling beds NEVER improve your traveling mood the next day. Clean room. Adequately big bathroom. Free wifi in the room was a bonus. Breakfast was value for money. I learnt that Taiwanese Hotels don't serve rice for breakfast. The closest you get is porridge. Hualien was unfortunately sleepy with very few places of interests. We were going to check into Silk Taroko Hotel the very next day so this one night here was perfect. Throw in a pool, some usual spa amenity, Classic is your usual 5 star hotel!

Lovely hotel and service with a smile”
Best value for money hotel in Hualien. Cozy with personal touch. New and modern in-room facilities (eg the shower. I have stayed in many so-called 5 star hotels where the water seeps out of the shower stall and you find that the bathroom is half flooded your shower. But not Classic Hotel City Resort. The seal on the shower stall we just perfect). Hotel does not show any sign of wear and tear (I thought it was recently renovated but it was actually built 5 years ago). Front office staff were very helpful and knowledgeable.

Relaxing and enjoyable. ”
The hotel is located about 10 minutes walk away from the train station, which is pretty convenient for us as we travelled with friends as a group of 4. Hualien City is a quiet and scenic area, it is highly recommendable that the hotel rents out bicycle for free. With the rented bicycles we actually cycled around the whole Hualien City instead of travelling by buses or train. Hualien is a pretty small city so with proper planning you can easier travel around the city. The hotel also helped us to book for a day tour to Taroko National Park. The taxi driver selected by the hotel was very nice and humble. For the price that we paid, it was value for money and indeed a relaxing stay at the hotel.

Comfortable and Affordable”
I enjoyed my stay at the Classic Hotel City Resort which is just a stone throw away from the Hualien train station, even though its a little far away from the attractions and the city area, the taxi fares are still considered acceptable. Love the wide spread of the breakfast buffet in the morning and the friendliness of the staffs working there, always ready to answer our enquiries.

Great hotel near to the Hualien Train Station”
being near to the hualien train station means that it is slight far from the city. we walked to zhi qiang night market, which took about 25 mins. suggest to take cab instead, which cost us 150 twd to travel back from zhi qiang night market to classic hotel. got a free upgrade, probably due to off-peak season. east to locate and there are some great food haunts around the hotel. hotel does liase to provide day tour to taroko. we got a contact from our friends who visited previously, and went with the cab tour instead of the bus tour. breakfast was only okay, slightly below satisfaction.

Luxurious stay at Hualien”
You will probably love your stay in Hualien as much as you like the hotel itself. As soon as you arrive at Classic City HOtel's doorstep you will feel the 5* ambience and service of this hotel. The rooms and corridors are not only clean but also of high standard. Breakfast is awesome. The staffs are very helpful in helping you to find what to do, where to go, et cetera.
