"My friend and I stayed in a twin room with an ensuite- a nice, comfortable room for a hostel. (Some kind of soap holder would have been appreciated in the shower, though the bathroom was clean and water pressure was good!). All the accomodation in Sydney was very pricey during the weekend of the stay- given the fact, the cost of the room was reasonable. Beds were quite comfortable (double bed + trundle), there was a tv in the room (but no wifi) and the hostel is in a great location. Staff were friendly and we also appreciated the 'cinema' room, which has nightly movie screenings. There are also lockers downstairs where you can put your belongings after checkout ($4 for the first 4 hours and then $2 for the next 4 I think). The staff also helped us to book a YHA discount for the Aquarium. Unfortunately it was quite noisy on Saturday night (seemed mostly to be coming from drunks and hoons on the main road) but Sunday night was much quieter. Would stay there again if on a budget!"

"Terrific hostel! Located in The Rocks (Old Town Sydney), near Circular Quay and the Opera House, this hostel was truly amazing: friendly and always helpful staff members who would patiently answer all my questions, a clean and bright room (4-bed private) with a bathroom that some 4-star hotels can't offer, Opera House view from insde the room (!), a gorgeous rooftop, spacious and well equipped kitchen facilities, internet, pubs right in front of the house, walking distance to convenience stores and fancy restaurants, and downtown right around the corner. A/C upon request, quiet at night, bright and colorful athmosphere... I could go on for a long time, I guess. I have traveled many countries and continents--this was a top-notch experience! Highly recommended, and Sydney is a fun place, too."

"We spent 4 nights at Adge as two guys mostly looking for nightlife. We'd both visited Sydney on prior occasions and were less concerned with the more obvious tourist spots, although you can walk to Circular Quay in about 15-20 mins and there are buses that go to Bondi just nearby. Aussie hotels generally seem quite expensive (partly due to the FX rate) so we figured that if we were going to have to pay, we would do it in style and Adge did not disappoint. Staff were incredibly friendly and could not do enough for us - the main reception/concierge person that we dealt with (Chris) was extremely knowledgeable of the local area and gave great personal recommendations of place to eat and drink around Surry Hills, which is a very trendy part of town with lots of cool bars, coffee shops and eateries. The room itself was very modern and well equipped with upscale goods (e.g. a Smeg fridge, high end LED TV) but the thing that set it apart was again the staff - personal touches like a weather forecast for the next day included in the turn-down service made a difference. I'd wholeheartedly recommend Adge for a visit to Sydney"

"We stayed on the 6th floor and I was SO impressed. I usually have a hard time sleeping in CBD Sydney hotels because the traffic noise keeps me up since I'm a light sleeper. Not a concern here. The rooms are very small, but if you're like us - it's just a pit stop. The bed was nice (small but was sufficient for us), very classy use of the space, the hotel itself is very chic and new looking. The light breakfast (muffins, pastries and drinks) was perfect for us. There's unlimited bottled water, which was great it the 33+C heat. Friendly staff, easy check in and check out. VERY convenient location, literally across the street from Central station. 100% staying here again. "

"Travelodge Sydney Hotel is perfect for first time visitors to Sydney, returning visitors and the like. It's easily accessible location ( from the airport) and closeness to everything makes it the perfect hotel. Trains were only a few minutes walk away (Museum Station), buses, monorail and light rail were also within short walking distance. Rooms were adequately sized and well equipped, they also included Foxtel channels. The hotel is very close to Chinatown, World Square and Paddy's Markets/Market City so it makes it very easy to find something to eat or a place to shop. Overall I enjoyed my stay at Travelodge Sydney Hotel and I will definitely stay there again if I returned to Sydney!"

"had to book a hotel in sydney in a hurry. after going through hundreds of hotels in various websites i decided to book 'devere hotel'in potts point. probably i was lucky to get a really good deal. per night for a single room suited my budget well (believe me sydney hotels are expensive). i was not impressed by the comments about this hotel but decided to take a chance. location is convenient. 500m to the kings cross railway station and the bus stop is right in front of the hotel. woolworths across the road (and coles situated 500m away) is always handy. room was quite satisfactory, bed was comfortable, reverse cycle ac keeps you warm in winter, hot water was great and housekeeping was good. reception was great at helping the customers. unable to comment on food as i could not eat from the restaurant. if only they provided free wifi ....but none of the sydney hotels give you free wifi (except backpackers) overall i was really impressed by the quality of the hotel and the room considering the price. hope that they would maintain the good standard so that i would not have to hesitate in choosing devere hotel next time around in sydney.
