If you cannot spot turtles from your balcony at Ras al Hadd guesthouse, this is a perfect place for a stopover on your way to Ras Al Jinz for turtle watching, which is just 15 km away. From the moment I walked in the door, the Sur Hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful. I was able to walk most every where in town. Especially nice was the coffee and dates in the lobby every time i walked in the door.
Staff are helpful, Subeesh Incharge at front office area, he help me for anything and give me information while i am travelling to sur. Room are clean and nice location there. I will be back again to the hotel and suggest this hotel to all my friends who want to trip to oman :)

Ideal place to explore Sur and the surroundings. Walking distance from enywhere in Sur, and with a parking place right in front. Our room had views to the beach. Only problems were: staff (not friendly at all and very poor English) and the beds (really hard). Other than that it was an excellent place

One of the best states in the Sultanate Of Oman, lots of attractions which are nearby, such as the turtles reserve, marvelous beaches with a breathtaking white sands.
There is not much to do or see in Sur. The two Castell are not that impressive - there are nicer ones in Oman.
Sur is a small city, with an old history. In the centre is the old port, with 2 yards still building dows.
I only stayed one night as I wanted to see the turtle reserve at Ras al-Jinz. During the day (in May), Sur was extremely hot.
