Traveling to China? Find Qingdao hotels

I visit Qingdao regularly for business and as with all my destinations research all possible hotels as much as possible. Initially I could find little or no information / reviews about Far Glory, especially on Tripadvisor. As with all Chinese hotels I was skeptical about reviews and information provided online. Farglory is an amazing hotel. It is located almost next door to may 4th square right in CBD of qingdao. As it is very new few taxis and locals know of it as a hotel. As it doubles as both an appartment and commercial complex. The room was very clean, large and modern. A full set of bathroom amenities was available, wonderful large bathroom, free wifi, kitchen (pls note no cooking utensils - plates, cutlery, pots etc) HBO & Sat TV, microwave, large refrigerator, enormous bed etc etc. all the amenities you expect from a 5 star hotel but in an appartment setting. Some of the reviews I read suggested difficulties with English at front desk & concierge however I experienced no such difficulties. The service standard was excellent. I even requested help to work the washing machine and within 10 minutes house keeping was at my door to instruct me how to operate the appliance. Breakfast is good but don't expect a 5 star breakfast in terms of selection however I found it more than adequate with selection of both Chinese and western. All food was well prepared presented and fresh. The view from the breakfast area is what sets this appart from other hotels. The recreation facilities are superb both pool and gym with views over the square, ocean and city. All in all and excellent hotel. If you are staying 1 night, 1 week or 1 month u will not be disappointed. My stay was 3 nights. If ever I am placed in Qingdao for longer stays this is the location as it is more of a residence. My only concern with this review is that by posting this more people will stay and ultimately the price will increase! An absolute bargain and an amazing hotel. Great pool & fitness centre

Room was spacious, well-designed. It has a living room, bedroom, Kitchen and bathroom. As my place of visiting is Shangri-La Office Tower, which is just about 200-300m away from the hotel, it saves me travelling time from taking any transportation. The Qingdao Metro is work in progress along this Hong Kong Middle Road, there will be a station below this hotel and will be convenient when it is finished in 2014-2015 period, I was told by locals.

I had a great time in the Sea view garden hotel. All I want to say is “Thank you!” Their service is absolutely superior to any other hotels I’ve visited! -Free Airport Pick Up: You can get to the hotel if you call n book the hotel shuttle bus in advance. -Staff: All staff was so friendly and tried to figure out my problem. There was a problem with my Chinese visa right before boarding, so I missed my flight to Qingdao on my first day of trip. I called the Sea view garden hotel, saying that I aint be there on time I was supposed to be. Peter said “No problem!” When I got there the following day, He already rearranged my reservation. I didn’ have to explain and ask for anything about it. I really appreciate it. Thank you again. He recommended some shopping districts and a good restaurant called ‘Hai di lao’. u guys better try it, taste so good. -Breakfast: nice enough, but mostly Chinese food. I wish they had some more Italian foods. It would have been better. Well, I enjoyed a lot, tho. Coffee was the best in breakfast. It comes with lots of crema. -Executive lounge: I was lil bit disappointed wit this lounge. Some finger foods are up there, but all dried. It would be better if the lounge has a just one coffeemaker instead of dried bagels and fruits. Nth is really special about the lounge, but spacious. -Facility: Awesome. No doubt. -Tip: I put 50 yian on my bed wit Thank you messages, but housecleaner didn take my tip Nobody gets tips even a bellguy. They do their own things as best as they can. I can really tell that u guys are professional. You should be proud of. Qingdao people are so friendly eventho I can’t speak Chinese at all. I was recently so exhausted with my work and this holyday did help recharge my batteries. Special thanks to Peter.

Me and a colleague were visiting Qingdao for work when we decided to stay here. We were pleasantly surprised how nice this place turned out to be. The property is very nice and the staff are very well trained. A special mention to the concierge staff members (Jesse & Justin) at their knowledge of the City, their enthusiasm and willingness to help and English skills. The rooms are very nice as my colleague got a free upgrade to a bigger room. Modern artsy decor, 5 star amenities, complementary minibar drinks are only some of the perks. The breakfast is also very nice with good variety. Will definitely return back.

Since it was a relatively new hotel in Qingdao I decided to check it out. Stayed here with my family over the holidays. The room is comfortable, big and clean. The view of the beach was nice and made me wish we were staying over summer. The restaurants had good food and thankfully so as there isn't anything within walking distance (i.e. 5 mins) from the hotel to have a meal.

We loved our weekend getaway at the Qingdao Huiquan Dynasty Hotel! The staff graciously upgraded our room from oceanview (on the side of the building) to oceanfront balcony. Our second day there, my husband turned to me and said "This is exactly what I wanted!" Truly high praise! The rotating restaurant was a treat for both the eyes and the tastebuds! We look forward to our next chance to visit Qingdao & the Huiquan Dynasty Hotel!

I was in Qingdao due to business and a honeymoon. And that was the BEST CHOICE that I can possibly make. The hotel is a very big property and it sits right next to the very beautifull Silver Beach. As I enter the hotel, the reception greeted us with high enthusiasm and they threat their guess really good so every guest may feel so special. I would like to express my thank you to Ms. OLIVIA, the reception supervisor, her service maybe is one of the best service I can expect from a hotelier. I was so impressed in how she is willing to help me sincerely during my stay. She offered me to buy me my domestic air tickets with her credit card and I can pay her in cash. She also offered to accompany me go to Qingdao market during her off-working day so she can become a translator for us. What an extraordinary service! Also my high praise is to the restaurant of this hotel, Element restaurant provided a very very good buffet dinner and breakfast, very much choice with high quality food. I was also impressed with two of the restaurant manager, who always assisted us that make this restaurant is so special. Over all I had a very2 good experience during my stay, all the interior is luxury as in the picture, cleanliness, service and location is perfect to me, this hotel will be the only hotel I will stay if I come again to Qingdao.

i stayed in that hotel for 2 nights. as for me i liked almost everything in that hotel: location, service, food in restaurant was divided for chinese and good quality european food, deserts were also perfect. you can chose seafood and chef cooks you a bbq. room was spacious enough with big tv, vision from the room was also perfect. so, if i travel again in qingdao i definitely stay in that hotel again.

The hotel is located really far from city center but if you have to catch a plane in the morning, staying this hotel could be very nice. It takes about 10 minutes to go there by taxi, and taxi fare will be at around 20 yuan. Whenever i go to qingdao, before one day i leave there, i usually stay here. Room is super big and everything is really nice. And the bar on the first floor is really nice to drink some qingdao bees, and the bartender at the bar is really kind and speaks english fair enough.

Our flight to Qingdao was delayed and we only arrived at 1:30 AM at the hotel. Very efficient and fast check in. The staff is friendly and they can speak good English. The hotel is a little dated and decor looks like a plush palace from the last century. And so does the room. But it is all very clean and has all the amenities one needs. Fast Wi-Fi Internet access and a small desk with even a LAN connection. The bathrooms are rather small but well equipped and functional. Breakfast is buffet style and offers a wide variety of Chinese dishes. Western breakfast is rather limited. The location of this hotel within 5 walking minutes from the airport is excellent. The ideal place to spend the night when traveling in or out of Qingdao. However, the hotel is located far out of town with no attractions or shopping facilities nearby. Don't compare this hotel to standards of Grand Mercure hotels in other places, it is less expensive and maybe not as modern but at a very convenient location.

The China Community Art and Culture Hotel Qingdao is an excellent place to stay for a very reasonable price. The hotel is tucked away off a side street which makes it quiet from street noise. The hotel lobby and foyer is very well decorated with a "serenity" theme. It contains many displays of cultural artwork, sculptures, stones and other relics. There are a few ponds and constant incense burning. Our party of 3 had two rooms, one had a double bed and the other had two twin beds. The rooms were modern, small but adequate. The rooms contained basic amenities including a flat-screen TV, overhead rain shower, western toilet, good internet connection, good AC/heater control, and the beds were softer than the standard Chinese hard beds. The breakfast was good and offered both western and Chinese food. The staff was very friendly and always had at least one member who could speak English well. The rooms were small, ideally best for one person. It was a bit tight with two people in one room. The other negative was the thin walls. We could hear people in the next room. Overall, it is a very peaceful, clean, and modern hotel offered at a very good price.

Me and my wife arrived the airport almost 11:30pm, we knew that the hotel was within walking distance, but we also had to catch a a taxi. However, the taxi drivers at the airport were crazy, tried to ask RMB50-100 for a short 2 minute ride, so we ended up walking there, only took about 10 minutes, no trick. The lobby was like a typical hotel lobby in China, dark and quiet, with a staff or two. Check-in was quick. We booked Deluxe King Bed, when I entered, oh wow........a huge room with big TV, huge bed, spacious lounge room, and .... an amazing rounded jacuzzi...by the way it's fully functional. Wifi signal was strong and fast, had fridge, ventilation was good, a small window there but dont expect a spectacular view, a lovely hotel for airport guests. We didn't have chance to test out the BBQ restaurant, instead we went to the Korean restaurant at the golf driving range behind the hotel, RMB30 for a big bowl of beef rice, which was good for a next morning brunch. When we left, the hotel was very helpful in arranging a taxi for us because we had to get to another hotel in Shinan (China Community Art And Culture Hotel Qingdao), taxi fare was RMB70, save the hassle of hopping on and off public transports. For the same price, I will return for sure if I ever arrive late at night. Highly recommended

JinJiang scores again at this QingDao property. A basic chain hotel, it neither overwhelms nor disappoints. Very enjoyable stay in a good location at a good price. Strongly recommend that all guests enjoy the breakfast. Can't beat the price at 18yuan, and the buffet offers Western and Asian choices in abundance. The staff English is mixed, but good enough to get by and cover the basic needs of hotel service.

After looking at the photos for this hotel, I was a little disappointed after I arrived. It wasn't quite as modern as I expected. That said, it was fairly clean. A little bit small, but it was quite adequate for the 3 days I was there. I ended up paying around AUD 55.00 (USD 40.00) per night and considering it was fairly cheap, I guess I got what I paid for. One of the male Front Desk staff was a little abrupt, but one of the females was absolutely lovely and although challenged by English, she went out of her way to be welcoming, hospitable and obliging. Good location - close to plenty of shops, but not much English is spoken in the area.

this was our first visit to qingdao and this hotel was recommended by our supplier. a very plesant stay and trully excellent staff. i have to especially mention the concierges jason and light. we had become seperated from our luggage in guangzhou because of a late connection and they helped us through this. also when received my laptop had disappeared from my bag which necessitated a rather long visit to the local police station for which light accompanied me in his off duty time - and wouldn't take any compensation from me for that. all really beyond the call of duty.

Me and my colleague stayed in this hotel in Qingdao near Qingdao airport for 2 nights in mid Apr. One morning we asked concierge to call a taxi to send us to Qingdao train station located in downtown. That taxi has normal taxi appearance but it turned out to be one installed with a crooked meter - distance between the hotel and Qingdao train station in downtown is around 35 km but the taxi meter counted 58 km traveled for that journey. There was no traffic jam at all and GPS on my phone shown that the route traveled was the shortest so it must be the meter which was cheated. Very disappointing experience with this hotel. The facility and cleanness is acceptable. Breakfast is boring. This hotel is located near to Qingdao airport but far from downtown.
