Where to stay in Moorea Island
Moorea Island hotels & accommodations

We stayed at Pearl Resort and Spa for 6 nights. Were were in a family room, duplex type. Plenty of space. Rooms were cleaned daily, althought at random times. Apart from CNN there were no English channels available so not alot of tv watching at night. Room was airconditioned and sometime we had to keep it on during the night. It occasionally made loud noises but no big...

The stay was great. The prices in the hotel are extremely expensive. Take beverage and some food with you. This hotel has the best location in Moorea Island. As there are only bungalows (not rooms), the hotel cater for maximum 200 guests what makes it nicely quiet.

I manage 25 vacation rental homes on the north coast of Oregon hence know the Sunset Beach Residence facility on the beautiful island of Moorea is a good one. New, clean, adequate stocked units are idea for a family and folks who don't like the resort scene. Really liked the deck. However, folks that don't speak french or don't know the area may struggle to procure fo...

Tamas, the owner, was extremely helpful and nice! On the terrace, we watched perhaps the most beautiful sunsets from all our trips in French Polynesia and afterwards, the sky full of stars. Feeling at ease and enjoying wonderful nature and the company of other nice people staying at the hotel! I would recommend to have a car though, although anywhere in Moorea it woul...

We loved our stay here. We actually caught the 7.30am ferry over to Moorea and had no expectations that we would be able to check into our bungalow until later but the amazingly staff had it ready for us within 15 minutes. We were in garden view bungalow number 4 which was about 5 rows back from the beach but that suited us fine as you didn’t have people constantly wal...

The IC Moorea is a nice older resort, typical of many on Moorea. A bit isolated on the far corner of the island but an small market it walking distance and several nice restaurants will provide shuttle service. Nice pool & lagoon for snorkeling. Several eating options on site, all expensive. The staff is very accommodating.

We stayed at Kaveka several nights and were really happy with our decision to spend most of the time in Moorea at this place. The price is quite ok for French Polynesia and the bungalow was nicely decorated in polynesian style. Rooms were quite modern and clean. Staff was very helpful and we enjoyed the quiet atmosphere as there were not many guests around. We would de...

If you can't afford an over water bungalow on Moorea, then this place will suffice if you don't mind simplicity. We wished we had booked more than two nights as we could just sit and look at the lagoon. The lagoon isn't great here so you'll need transportation to get around, taxis cost a fortune. The restaurant isn't great - but that's all over French Polynesia, unless...

Wonderful hosts, happy to include us in trips to the bank, grocery, etc. Great location next to the Hilton, but also with its own private beach. Our bungalow was large with full kitchen. Think beach house or summer cabin. Nice common room for relaxation. We enjoyed a trrrific meal, reasonably priced, made by Jean and his family. If you want luxury, go to the Hilton, ...

The value for what you get is most excellent. We returned from a week long catamaran trip and caught the ferry from Tahiti to Moorea. Linareva was on the west side of the island. We rented a car at the ferry location on the east side and off we went. 60kms (36 miles) is the distance around the island. We arrived at the resort and checked in. There are maybe 7 or 8 buil...

The pension is located away from the heavy tourist area of Moorea. In my opinion, the nicest part of the island. Included, were bicycles and canoes. Naturally, we took advantage of both. The front yard across the street, there were mangroves and in the morning, looking out on the balcony, one could spots stingrays close by and further outside the lagoon, dolphins and s...

You have just arrived in French Polynesia after a long overnight flight and you want to experience the real Moorea...forget about all these big resorts that lack personality and go to Fenua Mata'i'oa instead. It is a beautiful location, wonderful place to experience the interior of the island. The garden is lovely, nice pool and very clean accommodation....loved the bathroom. After a few days on the beach it was nice to experience something a bit different. We loved the unique character of the villa - had a fun tropical feel to it with beautiful picturesque views of the pool and beach. Having kayaks and free Wi-Fi was a plus. Great location to v...

The place looks attractive on internet but bare minimum amenities. No comfortable chairs, scruffy mended sheets.TV is placed so high that there is no logical place to sit and watch. Very kind hosts, Alex and Tea, went above and beyond to help me navigate the island -- made arrangements for a local restaurant to come pick me up for dinner (!) and also called the local bus operator AND the owner of other pensione I was staying at later in the week to make transfer arrangements.
