Lyon hotels & accommodations
Nicely located near the Parc de la Tete d'Or. Very friendly and helpful personal. Good sized rooms. Good breakfast for a reasonable price (€ 15).
Around 20 mins walking distance to shopping area and commercial center The room is very spaicious and the staff are helpful. I love this room very much and I will definitely book this hotel again if I go Lyon again. The only thing is the church nearby rings the bell every hours or every half hour in the morning so if you are easily wake up by sound, you may not able t...
This was my first hotel in France and when I stepped into the room I thought I was starring in a French comedy. The room had a bed and not much space for anything else; and a bathroom smaller than most wardrobes. However, it's surprising what you can get used to and I quickly adapted to the compact and cosy space. The location is excellent, right by the local and regio...
We found this hotel to be of a high standard in most ways. However, as with most city hotels there was a noticeable impersonal (but efficient) note in our interaction with staff. We were pleasantly surprised to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room but astounded that the only cups provided were cardboard. Once we had used these cups our only choices for a s...
You'll love Old Town Lyon but you'll miss a truly wonderful experience if you miss Villa Florentine. The views. The patios. The relaxation. Its all here in the heart of Vieux Lyon.
Great Hotel, Nice and Friendly Staff, Good location where you can find HALAL Food nearby. I would recommended this Hotel to all, Good food too.
Citadines is located right off the main shopping street. It's just a few blocks in, but it's silent in the rooms , the best of both worlds. We had a kitchen in the room, which was great even though we didn't need it in Lyon! There are tons of bouchons around the area, and it's a quick walk to the riverside. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Wifi was grea...
The hotel is the top half of the tallest building in the Lyons CBD, starting from level 40 - so amazing views. Otherwise a good/average business hotel. Large rooms, good facilities, uninspiring bar and restaurant - apart from the view of course!
Despite the room being clean, it did feel a little dated. However, the facilities more than made up for it. With excellent wifi for working, spacious room, safe (paid) parking on-site, friendly staff and close proximity to the center of Lyon this was unbeatable for price. Thanks for a great stay
Very nice neibourghood, perfectly clean room, with confortable beds. Easy to get to Rhonexpress and then to the airport: at just two metro stations from it.
Lyon is the food capital of France as we were told. We had a wonderful experience. We were fortunate enough to come across Les Halles during our self directed orientation of the area and found it to be the greatest food market ever. Try the Foie Gras Macaroons. This hotel isn't the closest to the main town but is manageable if ya wanna go that route. We opted for a sco...
When we arrived in Lyon it was raining for the first time of our 5 week trip, but the staff was very helpful and had amazing umbrellas, so it wasn't too bad. We also got a free upgrade to a better room because we were on our honeymoon - much appreciated. The costumer service was impeccable and they have fantastic recommendations for restaurants and called to book for...
The hotel is situated 6 tram stops away from Lyon Part-Dieu Railway Station, but it is in the inside streets away from the main tram road. Nice and quiet neighbourhood. The rooms are clean and tidy but a bit small and crowded. Free wifi connection though a bit slow in some times. Many good restaurants nearby and the staff would introduce you. The breakfast was not as r...
It is a upper class, central located Hotel. The service is very good, people are very friendly and are supporting with any question or problem. the room wasn't to big but confortable and (whats not else expected) clean. Modern entertainment systems in the room. The Highlight is the bar on the top with a nice view over Lyon and the Rhone river.
Good location, just 2-3 min walk from the train station. There is a large shopping mall on the other side of the train station, around 10 min walk from the hotel with lots of fast food restaurants and shops. Spacious room. Good to have the toilet separated from the bathroom, esp for family travellers.
Great location, just outside Lyon, easy access to Bellecour by tram or river taxi. Next to mall, near to restaurants. Room is big, clean & with good size toilet. Breakfast is of standard spread. The wifi is a little poor in connection but definitely acceptable. Will be back if in Lyon.
To start with the location wasn't too convenient and the staff weren't able to speak English very well so we had some trouble communicating.. You can cook here but the stove and kitchenware might not work properly... our stove didn't seem to turn off for some reason. Only stayed there for a night but I don't plan on revisiting this place. It was larger than a normal ho...
I traveled with my mom and we extended our stay in Lyon, stayed in this hotel for 5 nights. It was a bit stuffy in the room during the end of August. Our room is not air-conditioned, but it has a fan, which is not bad. It'll be perfect if the room is on a higher floor, then you can open the window with the help of the fan to cool down. Ca marche! But ours is on the 3rd...
the staff of the hotel was really friendly and helpful, and made our first night in our week-long stay in France memorable and exciting. the location was also convenient to shops and historical sites. the room was cosy and clean. in all, I recommend people visiting Lyon to stay at Mercure Lyon Plaza Republique.
Lovely hotel , although on a main street the hotel isin a quiet residential are, felt very safe there. Good shops/cafes nearby with a restaurant next door, cafe down the room selling lovely pastries. short walk over two rivers Rhone and Saone to old centre, good transport links with trams, buses and metro covering Lyon and funiculure to the top near the old centre. ...
We were a group of 4 people in total and booked 2 rooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the rooms were very decent and comfortable, and so were the bathrooms. Regarding the location of the hotel, it wasn't too far off from anything but not too close either. I would say it took us about 20-25 minutes walk to reach Old Lyon, which is the main thing in the city...
Close to public transport to the center, little kitchenette in the room is usefull
This is my second stay and its even better than before after undergoing a stylish and graceful renovation. Great value for money with large rooms, great beds and a good breakfast. Staff were helpful and the location is second to none in the heart of Lyon, close to the Tourist Information office. Will definitely stay again if returning to Lyon.
The hotel is nicely located near to the University Lumiere Lyon 2 and other places of interest; one can reach the hole central town well by public transport which runs frequently. There are multiday tickets for the transport available. The breakfast in the hotel is very nice. The room prices are moderate. The staff is friendly and helpful. The infrastructure of the hot...
it has good location. just 10 min walk from the lyon part dieu station. the room was clean but if you expect some hotel facilities in the room, then you will be disappointed.
This Hotel is located in a decent location and near to major train stations. Staff and reception are awesome and they do speak English and address all your concerns politely
An easy walk or electric scooter ride (if you haven't tried these, you're missing out!) to other parts of Lyon, especially Old Lyon. Grand Hotel des Terreaux is definitely one for those who prefer old world charm over generic modern hotel rooms - my wife loved it. The views are just of nearby buildings rather than any city panorama - but when you're in charming old tow...
Good things: - great location, immediately above Ampere-Victor Hugo station, with staircase with outside hotel and elevator very close by (within 30 metres) - extremely comfortable bed (firm enough) - large bathroom with heating element - 24hr reception with helpful staff Things that can be improved upon: - shower stall door -- some water tends to leak from under the ...
Cheap places to stay in Lyon
It is convenient to arrive everywhere and it is a better experience than before.
Close to SNCF Lyon Part Dieu and clean - highly recommended!
I booked through Agoda for the price. I cannot believe the price, for 3 nights with breakfast included. I'm not sure if all the rooms are refurbished, but we were in a refurbished room. It was suberb. The fabrics etc were modern and stylish. The room was clean, as was the bathroom. The bathroom seemed to be like a kit bathroom, like an all in cabin that was installed,...

I had to spend a night in Lyon before I moved into my place. I found this hotel very accessible and very welcoming. The manager was available for help and he even upgraded my room. The room is small but cozy. It's got all you'll need.

A delightful boutique hotel surrounded by great restaurants. Walking distance to old Lyon, museums and parks. The rooms are clean and efficient and the staff are friendly and helpful.
My husband and I traveled with his brother around France. The hotel is a five or ten minute walk from Gare de Lyon Part Dieu, which is a major train station with an express train to the airport and to many international destinations. There are also many city buses outside the station. Perfect for a night or two to rest before heading to your next destination. There wer...
I chose this hotel for its excellent location in central Lyon 2e arrondissement near Bellecour subway station. It's a short walk across the Saone river to the old town in one direction and across the Rhone in the other direction, and there are many excellent restaurants of every kind nearby. The street Hotel Elysee is on reminds me of 5th Ave. NYC for its many high-end...

Well, normally I'm a fond of serviced apartments so to find this property seemed to be a real luck. In fact the apartments itself are not bed: they were clean and spacious and had a kitchenette with quite a big fridge. But why its staff works in hospitality sphere if they almost hate visitors??? A lady on reception paid no attention to us when we tried to check in, a...
Was close to cute shops, long was from the train to get there. The staff was rude. The room was ok, no A/C
It’s a well located and the staff are very friendly to give advice on where and what to visit in Lyon. Everything works except you have to leave your key to the reception whenever you leave the hotel. It’s a pity there’s no kettle or fridge in the room. But they do provide free coffee and tea at the lobby which is quite nice designed area. WiFi is slow everywhere in Fr...

Nice hotel with very comfortable beds. Walking distance to the centre which was excellent
Very nice neibourghood, perfectly clean room, with confortable beds. Easy to get to Rhonexpress and then to the airport: at just two metro stations from it.
Location near Lyon Perrache Station. Easy to commute around. We bought a 24 hrs ticket so it was easy to get around Lyon. Room was ok. Bed comfy enough. Didnt like that the sinks/wash basin is in the room instead of toilet/bathroom as the floor wet easily. Kettle and coffee provided in room but was only provided with plastic cup! At least should provide paper cup, whic...

Last night I had a friend who came to visit me. When we were going up the stairway the receptionist stop him and speak in French without explaining what is it about. Anything the receptionist should...

Best location while in Lyon. It’s walking distance to Lyon’s attractions, shops, transportation, restaurants. Bottled water, coffee/tea, happy hour goodies is complimentary. My friend and I had a lovely stay at the Mercure Lyon Grand Hotel Saxe Lafayette. We could not have asked for more. The staff (both in housekeeping and front office)were very helpful and friendly. Clean spacious located a bit far . Overall an excellent hotel, but expensive for both the room and incidentals. ( gin &a tonic from the bar was something like 18€) Very nice hotel but I am sure Lyon would have options as good for much less cost.
Rooms were basic, not the best location , no hotel bar, expensive basic breakfast . Stay somewhere else
Great location to visit Lyon center.
We came to Lyon by train from Paris, reached Perrache station and just a short walk to the hotel. We spent 3 nights here. It is a old fashion design building, but has very clean and comfortable room. Staff are caring and attentive. My wife likes the breakfast very much. If we come to Lyon we will definitely stay here again.
It has a very nice design. The surrounding also nice and calm. A bit secluded. It would be better if they have a mini gym.
We stayed for 1 night in Premium room. It was really big and comfortable. But they don't provide shower gel and shampoo as usual in 4 star hotels.
Everything is good but there’s stains on the toilet rim
We enjoyed our stay in the hotel and were impressed by our spacious room, its nice and comfortable interior with modern furniture, and the helpful English speaking staff. Apart from its good location to the metro and main train station, we have found a Carrefour supermarket nearby the hotel.
The stay was enjoyable - we went for a concert at the Toni Garnier hall and the hotel was perfectly located for this. I understand the Lyon stadium is close by as well. The hotel is nice, farily new, has parking so fully met our needs
Hotel was ok, not much to say about. Just a one night stay in Lyon, perhaps in future can stay longer to better judge the hotel service.
the location is perfecto for visiting parc te te dor which includes free zoo, some atruction for yunger chiled. i visited my family in lyon with my yunger child. they loved the parc very much and i can recommend. restrant cite33 is high quality and opening even weekend. allow to have with child as well.
Was close to cute shops, long was from the train to get there. The staff was rude. The room was ok, no A/C
Great stay. Awesome location.
Good hotel, especially for visiting the nearby conference center. Other than that, the Cité area of Lyon is rather dull. Most of the action is on the other side of the river, which you'll find yourself frequently travelling to. Staff is very good, rooms are spacious. Downside would be the costs, they tend to increase them with over 50% during large conferences at the n...
The reception staff at this hotel were really lovely - friendly, helpful and provide great tips on what to see in the city. The lady with the long, dark hair and glasses was especially good. The rooms were fine but it's difficult to stay here if travelling alone as there is no "Do not disturb" sign for the door (however after a "getting out of the shower" near miss wit...

I loved this hotel. I read bad reviews about the basic room being split over 2 levels so I got the better room. The hotel isn't cheap but it really is gorgeous. It's in the historical area of Lyon and the building itself is one of the attractions to the area. The location is perfect - I had four nights in Lyon and I filled my days without needing to catch public trans...
Most simply the perfect hotel in Lyon, if not France, and we've stayed in many! Superior double was a big size, wonderful bed, impeccable service and staff, great location within walking distance of main shopping, old town and restaurants and less than 100m from Bellacourt metro with easy link on the pink line to the Rhône express to the airport. Would stay there again...
This is a cross between a hotel and apartment. Has microwave oven and some plates and utensils - but really a very nice hotel room. No reception - staff come and meet you and let you in. Real reviews for hotels
It is a old city but the view is quite good. It is very peaceful and relaxed. People look very friendly.
Lyon is a big city, with 3 rather distinct parts in terms of for various tourism pursuits - ie. Shopping, cultural or food centric.
A much bigger city than some others that i have been to. Many more places to visit and explore in Lyon.
Needs bigger rubbish bins, more free public toilets, quite a nightmare finding one and restaurants not friendly about it even if you offer to pay! Rubbish bins out of monument oo historical buildings as does not look good on pictures.
best thing to do in Lyon is to walk around the city the daytime exploring the streets and buildings and then repeat that again in the night.
Try to catch a movie at the CNP Bellcour if you have time, take the funicular to see the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière; take a walk down the rhone-saone river, and dont' forget to try the bouchons scattered across the city.
I came to Lyon for its reputation as a gastronomy must stop over. It did not disappoint. My only advice is not to travel during August as most museums and public facilities are either under maintanence or closed for summer vacation.
Try the local cuisine in a "bouchon lyonnais. Visit la fourviere, le parc de la tete d'or, la place bellecour.
try the michelin restaurant here at Lyon..it is cheaper here compared to Paris and the food is on Par.
The best restaurants are on the other side of the main square from the La Residence Hotel. Visit the 'Basilique Notre-Dame de Fourvière' on the hill but take the metro or cable car to the top and walk down, not walk up as we did, it's a hard climb.
Lyon is a wonderful city to visit. It is not as busy as Paris so it is a great place to unwind and take it easy.
Lyon is the second biggest city in France. Rather unknown compared to the hotspots such as Paris or Nice, but it is completely worth visiting.
