I love Melrose hostel so much! The bed is so comfortable and roommates are all nice.Melrose is the best choice for someone travels alone. I left all my stuff and hung out for whole day,the location is really good and you can take a metro bus to the nearest metro station or downtown.(BTW if you want to buy a bus day pass you need to go to metro station,where you can take a real metro:) The card cost 2 dollars and day pass cost 7 dollars). You can see the Hollywood sign on the roof.It is brilliant if you just come back and feel tired.Just sit over there, you will find everything’s perfect. The worker I want to say thanks to is a cool girl with a little bit green hair.She is really nice,explained so much for me and permitted my request once. I like her! At last!Give all my love to the breakfast Melrose provided !! Go ahead and you will never feel regret.

The owner asked me what kind of drugs I did and when I told him I don't do drugs. He then asked if I drank in which I told him I did not. He found it strange and asked how I handled stress as if it is normal to do drugs or drink to handle anything. I told him I only drink to celebrate and he said that that was strange. I booked an all female room but this room is accessed by guys and the bathroom has no privacy. A Russian women, who lives in the female dorm permanently was up late and really loud and obnoxious. I checked out early because I could not stand being there any longer. I am in the process of seeking a refund because I was charged an additional processing fee without cause. I did not book a bed in a mixed dorm and I was unaware that this was a drug house. DO NOT BOOK A ROOM HERE NO MATTER HOW CHEAP IT IS. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Great place to stay, cheap and affordable so don’t expect the Hilton or ritz when you arrive but certainly value for money. Only downfall is customer service.with staff. They hire backpackers for front desk so the desk people aren’t there cause they want to, but cause they have to as it pays for their rooms.... I said hello every time I came and left for the day but was ignored! I come from a hotel and hospitality background so I get the industry and customer service ALWAYS makes a lot of your experience when you stay.... other than that, awesome place

Its absolutely the best hostel Ive lived in the states. The staff r so chilled, so many different activities every day that u feel so great because u can meet everyone in just one day(its a huge hostel BTW). I recommended this hostel to my friends, they all like it. Vibe here is always social and friendly. I stayed here for my first night and last 2 nights, just perfect.

Location just could’nt be better... walk of fame is right at the front door. Across the hotel is the metro subway station, Dolby Theater, TCL Chinesse theater and the lot that you need to see while in Hollywood. On Sunday the part of hollywood boulevard in front of the hotel was closed for vehicles. So you can enjoy all the actions more freely. To my surprise the hostel is spacious, clean, and got everything you need for your stay. The spacious all-day self-accessible storage room is something you’ll find helpful for your check in and out times outside the normal hours. Seriously recommended.

As a solo female traveller, it can be difficult to narrow down on a hostel in Hollywood. But this place was the best! It's extremely close to Hollywood Boulevard and TCL Chinese Theatre (a 3-minute walk). The rooms and bathrooms were clean and well-maintained. The staff were friendly, and always ready with some helpful advice. They have a DIY breakfast, but all the printed instructions are pretty clear. The waffles were delicious! Just remember to wash your dishes after you use them. All in all, I'm glad I chose Orange Drive Hostel, and would definitely recommend it!

I booked for just one day, but when I arrived PodShare, I regreted a lot. If I have another chance to stay in LA, I’m gonna stay here again without any hesitation!! This hostel is SUPER clean, and has everything(shampoo, body shampoo, hair dryer, even toothpaste! + something to eat like bread, milk, tea, coffee, etc+ also has WATER). Eventhough I just stayed here one day, I really enjoyed a lot. The woman staff(I forget her name) was very kind and friendly, I really appreciate! Finally don’t be worry about personal space. Even if it’s a hostel, every each person has enough personal space. Perfect hostel ever!

Not as close to Disneyland but still good. About 2 bus rides away. There are some food options available in the area. I saw an El Pollo Loco. I wasn't able to try it though. Breakfast was okay as it is the typical bread breakfast that's kinda average for me. Amenities was also okay. There was a pool by the hotel parking lot. The star of this hotel was the room. It was for four people and I'm only one person. There were two beds and eight pillows in total, so I totally enjoyed my sleep. Room included a TV, microwave, and a fridge. The room even has a sofa, which was awesome. There was a menu by the phone that allowed me to order pizza, which I did as I didn't plan on eating out on the first day. My only disappointment was the internet. It was spotty at times and not very fast. Overall, I loved staying here. Despite the internet troubles, I enjoyed my stay here the most out of the 3 hotels that I had during my trip.

To start, podshare is not a hostel. They call it shared living or something. It's more like sharing an apartment. It's basically one room directly off the pavement in an old warehouse. There are 3 sets of bunk beds around a table and desk, a small kitchen area and one bathroom with a frosted glass door. There is very little privacy. After a 24 hour journey in high temperatures and a 9 hour flight, it was not what I wanted. However, after a couple of days I settled in. The staff are helpful and friendly, the beds are comfortable and the place is clean. As long as you understand that it's not like a hostel then it's great. The price is very good and the location is excellent.

I booked a room with a refrigerator and microwave, but had neither once We entered the room, I had a few things that needed to be kept cold, but was informed, no other room was available. I checked again in the morning, as required, and was moved to the room first desired. In this move we found both amenities, but the TV seemed to be downgraded to basic. A bit confusing, but refused to request another change, unsure of what will be missing next. Good for a few days.

The staff at this hotel is very friendly and helpful. They can give you valuable information about things around LA and also helpful with telling me about things around the hotel. For the price this is one of the best hotels I could find in LA. The breakfast is a good continental breakfast with a fair amount of options though it doesn't change from day to day. The quality of the breakfast is very good. The only problem I found is that the hotel is a bit far from most popular attractions and it can get expensive if you use taxis to get around LA. The better option is to use a rental car, they have excellent parking for cars. I would definitely stay here again if I travel to LA again.

travelled around usa with our friends, so when they had to leave a day earlier than us, we decided to spend the night nearer the airport, as our flight was an early morning flight. the hotel send a shuttle to collect us from the airport and then return us to the airport the next day. the room was very comfortable and the staff just so helpful. we left with great memories of la.

The rooms are actually quite nice. The facilities are a little old but this hotel is centrally located and a lot nicer than other more expensive motels right down the street that are absolutely disgusting. The staff isn't very friendly but they are polite enough. Breakfast is surprisingly decent as these free breakfasts go. Some of the same branded hotels as this give you orange juice and coffee and call it a free breakfast.

I read a lot of reviews before booking my room and a few about the staff really made me not want to stay there but being on a budget due to relocation from San Diego, I said “ What the heck”.. Well, let me say the staff is fantastic! My room was very comfortable . No graffiti, Sofa bed, Queen sized bed , A/C was well maintained, 32’ flat screen w/ direct tv, microwave, mini fridge, bathroom, (was a bit small and clostophobic), counter w/sink and a hair dryer. Everyone has been very helpful and courteous. A few of the guests were out of hand with their music but they where not afraid to make them be quiet. Mike always has a cheerful smile as he goes about his duties and he does a fabulous job. Good Job Guys!!!!

CONS: The first major problem I had was with AGODA itself. Although they seemed to have the best price comparatively, what they stated as the TOTAL PRICE was NOT the TOTAL PRICE. Their TOTAL PRICE, in big bold lettering DID NOT INCLUDE Californian hotel tax - which was considerable (20%). it was mentioned in small, faint print below the emboldened TOTAL PRICE. I'm sorry - TOTAL, last I checked, means TOTAL. This is a misleading and deceptive practice, and though probably not illegal, was a rude surprise when I got to the location - and was just plain wrong. It skewed my research. I do not intend ever to do business with AGODA again for this reason. The hotel: • the bath mat contained hairs from the previous occupant. •The refrigerator was a deep freezer, no matter how one tried to adjust the temperature. •The "free" breakfast was basically white bread, donuts, and frosted flakes. I had to go to the supermarket and buy breakfast food - only to have it frozen in the "refrigerator". •The microwave turntable did not operate. PROS: Desk Staff was pleasant. HouseKeeping responded to my concerns, and did a good daily job. Pool and jacuzzi were fine. The accommodations were reasonably clean except as noted above. Coffee was good. There were several other hotels nearby - a Travel Inn and several others within walking distance from this one. They looked nice. If I had to stay in this area in the future, I would certainly look into these others. And - Buyer Beware when it comes to the "TOTAL PRICE".

The place is small. The location is great. It's close to metro station, bus stop and even Flyaway bus stop (for airport). The facility is a bit too simple, but the price is really cheap so I'm OK as long as there are a bed and a bathroom. The air conditioner is pretty old and loud. It is pretty loud outside, but I'm the person who can fall asleep very easily, so this is not a big deal to me. The people working at the front desk are pretty helpful. A guy helped me carry my suitcase upstairs and helped me heat my food. When I offered him tips, he even refused and said that I'm his customer and what he did is what he should do. I'm pretty touched. I know people give bad ratings to this hotel and honestly, I won't book it if I have many other options, but this is beyond my expectation and I appreciate it.

I would go back again, and I would recommend them to anyone who needs a cheap accomodation to take a bath and sleep . When people choose a hotel like this that means they wont spend their precious californian time in their room. We wanted to visit Los Angeles , not just watch TV , or swim in the pool in the hotel. For that kind of needs, the Tradewinds Hotel is a perfect choice. Do not expect a new and luxury five stars appartement! (For that kind pay more.) But if you want to take a shower in hot water, lay down in a clean room at late night, sleep well, and start your tour in the early morning this is your hotel. Thank you for the kind service in the bar, and delicious freshly baked hot muffins and great coffe. Our only forgetable difficulties were with the magnet keys, many times decided not to open our door.
