Where to stay in Kep
Kep hotels & accommodations

kep was the relaxation part of our cambodia trip and definitely filled the bill. kep is a pretty rustic area and out of the way (lizards, hotel pets, frogs, etc. were the norm) but you would not know it from the veranda's services. friendly and helpful staff. also, had more than adequate staff numbers so tasks such as cleaning room/villas and bringing luggage, runnin...

Absolutely top drawer. Restaurant however needs time to mature - normal in Cambodia- in 6 months this will be the only place I'd want to stay again. But with Kep being so small, other restaurants and food options are available, so I'd happily still give Samanea top marks purely on the beautiful setting, rooms and wonderful staff.

We loved this charming hotel! Lovely theme and decor in the rooms and cafe / coffee bar and stunning views from the balconies overlooking the beach and sea. Just gorgeous! Best hotel in Kep in my view. Right on the beach with shops, laundry, bike rental, and restaurants next door. 3 minute / 2 dollar tuk tuk ride to crab Market restaurants, 5 mins to rabbit Island pier...

We stayed with our two year old son. The room was amazing--bigger than our apartment in Phnom Penh! Very new, clean, beautiful, opulent and child-friendly space. There was not much he could hurt himself on or damage, which we count as big pluses! The staff were wonderfully flexible in helping us to adapt and create plans and meals that were suitable for his 2-year old ...

We had a great time at Mealea for 5 nights. There was a strong WiFi connection so you could lay by the pool and get some stuff done in the morning while enjoying the ocean view. Great for relaxing. Crab market directly across the street for lunch or dinner. It is a short walk into town or there are tuk tuk available. The staff was great and helped me with booking a tri...

Probably the best bungalow resort experience we had so far on our trip, this Cambodian-owned resort has a very beautiful garden with nice scents (frangipani, tamarind, ylangylang etc.), probably the biggest and best pool in town. It is great value for money. The friendly manager(Mr. Sam) has a good connection in the area, helps out with anything (surprisingly, Bus tick...

Our couple visited from Nov 9 ~ 12. And it was THE BEST hotel in Cambodia. The best thing about Le Ponton is its location. It is ONLY 30 SECONDS walking distance from Crab Market which is the main place you get to spend time in KEP. We ate at Crab Market, we rent a motorbike in Crab Market, we bought some daily stuff (ie. toothpaste, water, beer) at Crab Market and w...

The place sit on quiet area. Each room design is different in color theme. PRO: Price is good, location in the Kep city seem very lonely but it's a quiet and relaxing stay. Outdoor swimming pool is big and clean. CON: the hotel have no public door, it's located near the mountain, therefore, alot of insect are flying around the area of hotel, but there no harmful. I stayed there 2 nights with my friend. We booked a sea view room on Agoda but at the arrival it was no seaview room available. But for the2nd night it was ok. The hotel is very quiet because not in busy area. The room is clean and functional. Wifi works good. The breakfast was simple but excellent. The kindness of the staff and the owner is huge. I'll stay there again...

Having stayed at many hotels in Kep we decided to give Q Bungalows a try and were very pleased with our stay, so much so we have already booked to go next month. The staff were friendly and attentive, the pool is large with nice places to sit and the breakfast pretty good. The hotel is only a few mins walk away from the crab market and Kep Beach. A great value stay!

A great spot for a few days of relaxing. Very convenient location, just a short walk from the Crab Market, Sailing Club (for happy hour cocktails) and Kep National Park. The beach is a little further, but still walkable or the hotel has bikes available. Staff were great - helpful with recommendations and onwards travel bookings, and friendly. As an added bonus, th...

We had such a great time here. Our room was perfect and very large with a very comfortable bed. The swimming pool was good for a relaxing swim. Management/staff were so kind and really looked after us. Hotel is close to the beach and about a 10 min easy walk to the crab market. Definitely recommend this hotel in Kep.

I stayed here with my family (my wife, my 16 years old son and my 9 years old daughter) in June 2015. I can highly recommend this hotel to anybody going to Kep. What we appreciated the most were : - the charming and nicely decorated bungalows with air-conditioning - the nice swimming pool in the middle of a tropical garden - The breakfast with a great choice (incl...

My friends and I stayed in the Penthouse Suite and had a wonderful time in Kep. The room was large, comfortable, and had a great view of the ocean. It was a short walk to both the crab market and Kep National Park. The staff was great and the included breakfast was delicious. We wished we could have stayed another night or two, but we already had accommodations boo...

Location - set back just off the main road in a nice quiet spot yet close enough to use the free cycles provided to get anywhere in Kep. Hotel - The setting is lovely. The rooms are set around a central area that is home to the pool and is dotted with flowering trees and other plants that provide shade when needed. The open air bar/restaurant area is on the ground flo...

We booked this hotel on impulse after our hotel in nearby Kampiot failed to live up to our expectations. And we're really glad we did otherwise we may have missed this true gem of a hotel. After a smooth and friendly check-in we were given room 9, tucked away in one corner of the pool area, and away enough to feel somewhat secluded from other (few) guests staying in th...

I was lucky enough to be upgraded to a room because room I had booked was taken. I decided to stay an extra night in the cheaper room, which was pleasant enough, but without air-con or a fridge. Kep is expensive by Cambodia standards so although costs more, still value for money. Pool is big and kept clean. The views are beautiful, and the hotel is right next to the na...

For a group, or group of families, it is the best place to stay in Kep. It's completely luxurious, and at the same time incredible comfortable and family-friendly. My five year keeps saying - "it's paradise" - and it really is. The staff are wonderfully warm and can cater for anything, and the food was yummy and fresh. Nothing but good things to say about our weekend...

the owner French lady is so kind. I booked 1day family room and 2 days superior room, but got upgrade to 3 days family room without any charge. And she will give you a lot information of Kep travel. a clean, peaceful place to finish Cambodia trip with my wife.

The Riviera Hotel in Kep just opened a few months ago and it is wonderful. The owner, Sovanna, was great and helpful. We were able to book excursions and a motorbike directly with her. She helped arrange taxi to/from Sihanoukville Airport. All the staff (including the friendly bartender!) were delightful. The place is brand new, clean and lovely - it is only 8 roo...

This was my favourite hotel throughout all our stay in Cambodia. Having said that, it was so peaceful and away from the town, so green and inviting. And green in all meanings - they are even growing their own vegetables and fruit. Mango smoothie anyone? - Just a moment, fresh mango from the tree! Although being adult only hotel, its swimming pool was equipped with ball...

Being suffocated by tuk tuk drivers getting off the bus from Phnom Penh, we paid $2.50 for the 3km drive just outside of Kep to Visual Sak. Our room was in perfect condition upon arrival, very clean, private bathroom, big comfortable bed ($6/night). There is a restaurant with very good and quite reasonably priced food on the 2nd floor, making it okay that the hostel is...
Cheap places to stay in Kep

My stay were perfect !! The room was big, clean and cheap ! The hotel is very quiet and i sleep like a baby! You can eat here and food are really good! Also you can have a free tuktuk ride to go to the crab market to eat in their restaurant (very good ! And nice happy hour!) The staff was very helpful and friendly ! You can ride bike of bicycle! It's located ne...

After ready the reviews we expected the worst but wanted to experience a night on rabbit island. The bungalow was huge, the bathroom was basic but clean. Shower was cold but really good! The bed was probably the best bed we slept in throughout our stay in Cambodia! The island does have a lot of litter but it’s still a wonderful experience even just for one night!

We loved the lush green gardens full of fruit trees and cute little tree houses. Each one of them is different and special. The main area where the restaurant is is beautiful, with stunning views of the sea. We ate free organic passion fruit from the garden every morning. The lovely lady owner was very helpful, smiley and sweet. It's for people who love nature, the ...

Fantastic stay here. Chris the owner is very helpful and can thoroughly explain or help plan any activities you express interest in. There was an overbooking issue the first night but it was handled with complete professionalism: Chris drove us to an acceptable (if different) substitute then upgraded our room on our second night as well as a third night we extended at...

We stayed for two nights in our little bungalow on stilts. The guy who runs them speaks great English and was really helpful and full of advice. Our room had a little balcony looking over the pretty garden which was great to sit out on, night or day. Kep is really spread out so unless you just want to see the crab market, and get a hotel near the crab market, you need...

We had a great stay at Kep Arunrass Hotel. The place is new and so there are a few kinks that they're still working out regarding detailing in the rooms, but overall we were very impressed at the value provided for the low-season cost. Our room was large with a huge balcony, the building and grounds are new and clean, and the owner/manager is great and eager to please....

If you're coming down to Kep, (and you're not one of the few British bozos who I've seen on here complaining about not having a TV and children playing, etc) you'll be wanting to relax in the gentle surroundings of the this beautiful part of Cambodia, still relatively untarnished by tourism. With the sea front crab market a few hundred yards away and the Kep National P...

this property is located a fair distance from kep township and crab market, but this did not bother us as we had our own transport. could be a problem for those without own transport. one major con. we booked the rooms on agoda which stated 'breakfast included, but when we arrived downstairs for breakfast were told no, but they could give us bread. hmmm not good. how...

We had an excellent experience at the Reaksme Krong Kep Guesthouse. The view from our room as well as from the public balcony at the top of the staircase was wonderful. out woop woop, nothin happening here, expect maybe some serious book reading n cow grazin. the nightlife is great if u want to watch the local tv with the only person working there. the room is good n large n was very comportable n had nice relaxing stay here, nice balcony

This hotel was one of the nicer places I have ever stayed. I could not believe how HUGE the room was for the price we paid! It was far larger, nicer, and cleaner than we could ever have expected. Seeing the word guesthouse in the name made us think of the usual cramped and spartan room one usually associates with guesthouses. It fact, it's quite the opposite. There i...

owner doesn't speak any english but she goes all the way out to help you. location is far from town n if u don't have transport you're in a fix cos no tuk tuk around. there is also no tar road leading to the hotel or street lamp. however it is very quiet with lots of greenery.

Lovely place. After ten minutes there, we did run to reception to ask for one more night. We were amazed by the views from the second floor (probably the best views we have had in Kep). Very close to the National Park entrance (good for trekking) and to the Crab Market. Longer walk to the beach, but manageble. Recently opened so everything looks new. No restaurant or l...

Pros: very clean, quiet & peaceful environment, very close to crab market & the beach, big room with big balcony, beautiful mountain view, beautiful garden, big swimming pool,. We enjoyed 2 nights in Kep and found N4 very convenient for visiting the crab market and enjoying some down time near the end of our hectic 3 month trip. The hotel seemed pretty deserted when we were there so we had the pool and loungers to ourselves. Of course the place has seen better days and there were plenty of little things that could use fixing in the rooms ...

Always take the express bus if traveling by public transport -- it only took 2.5 hours via Kampot and 20 minutes by motodup / tuktuk.
Kep is a great place to visit for family fun or rest and relaxation. Great seafood and place to enjoy hanging out with family and friends.
It is a nice, quiet city for over night stay or for a couple of nights to enjoy the seafood and nature.
Lovely quiet place to relax and do little if you want, or a lot more with the national park, rabbit island, beech and crab market to visit.
Keep is a very small town. The main beach area is kept clean the rest of the town is full of rubbish.
If you are looking to get away from the sometimes hectic life travelers experience in busy cities, you can't do much better than Kep.
Kep was is a derelict town with nothing to offer from what i saw.. I was harrassed and looked at very inappropriately to the point where tuk tuk drivers were yelling to each other as they went past and turning around to look at me.
If you are looking for quiet place where you both can be enjoy some origin beach and maoutain trees..
Kep is small and there isnt much to do there at all, but it is beautiful and you must eat lunch at the crab market!!! it is soooooo good!!!
Forget about coming here for beaches. There is very little to do here. Only recommend this place if you stay somewhere nice and you want to spend a few days relaxing.
There is very little to do in Kep. It is solely for peace, tranquility and isolation. Definitely NOT the centre of the universe!!
Kep is a peaceful place, perfect for PP expats, to relax. Highly recommended the Sailing Club anytime, but it is great for dining at sunset overlooking the ocean and Bokor mountain.
Surrounding by nature, romantic landscape, fresh sea food and delicious crab, very very nice landscape.
National Park is nice. Mountains are cooler. Nice to see run down colonial buildings. Excellent sea food.
Small seaside resort town right on the beach, other than seafood restaurants and proximity to beach not much else to do.
Lovely small town where you can get a sense of history, take in some natural sights, enjoy the local friendly people and also have time to relax.
I didn't have a lot of time but the best parts of Kep for me are Rabbit Island which is a very rustic beach.
September and October are the not so hot - not so cool months where you can enjoy fantastic Kep. Your children can learn how to protect environment and how to develop and build a good generation of nature friendly city.
Kep is a great place for seafood lovers to kick back and relax with nearby secluded beaches and islands You can always get a feed of fresh seafood particularly crab or prawns from the locals and usually a cold beer bonus!! The crab in green pepper sauce at the crab market is one of the most magnificent things I have ever tasted Kimly restaurant probably the best We hired a couple of tuk tuks that tuk us everywhere I was quite amazed at where they got to including getting obviously lost but all great fun Very friendly guys
Kep is a vey laid back beach town which is worth a visit for a couple of days. Get a good deal in one of the hotels with pool (eg Vanna or Kep Lodge) or try one of the lovely guesthouses.
it looks like Kep is trying desperately to come back on the travel scene. However, some local shop, bar and restaurant keepers are a bit detached from reality, it seems like prices in general go up by each month and they are not afraid of ripping you off, they do not seem to think about a sustainable future.
great place to find excellent seafood. many small restaurants near crab markets and all are decent and some are excellent.
we enjoyed everything in 1 day and 2 nights , they did a 1 hour drive to Pampot and moved there the next day and spent 5 days there and will go back to Kampot.
Very small, unspoiled by many tourists so far. If you want to get away from touristy areas and experience life in a small town, go here.
Kep is a very laid back location which is not for everyone but it also has beautiful countryside to explore if you are a shopaholic then this isnt for you but if you just want to get away and relax then it is great
You may spend your whole time in Kep trying to find it. It's more of a sprawl of hotels, markets, small shops and restaurants.
Kep is a great place to get away if you want a quiet town to relax in. The beaches aren't very good, so it's not so much a beach town as it is a coastal town.
Dont forget to go to Crab Market and enjoy the seafood over there, amazing food. Apart from that, Rabbit Island and the National Park is more a small village than a city, dont expect anything else.
Kep is a beautiful small city or big village sets on the west cost of Cambodia. Everyone one I met there is very friendly and hospitable.
