Where to stay in Kampot
Kampot hotels & accommodations
I had a good stay at the Thansur Bokor resort. I had been in Cambodia for three weeks and I was ready to go somewhere to cool off. This is the only hotel up on the plateau near the old French Bokor hill station, where it's cool enough to wear long pants at night. My room was very nice, the staff was great and welcoming, and the food was good, both the breakfast and ...
I stayed here for 3 nights initially in the bungalows and I cancelled my bus and hotel reservations to the next location to stay here longer.hans and his family and staff have welcomed and treated me like one of the family if I did not have to leave they would have to remove me by force!!great pool area to chill in the day,the grounds and view are just unbeatable in ka...
This was the second/remaining hotel booked in Kampot. My fiancée and I were pleasantly surprised by the hotel. The prior night we stayed at a Resort/Coral Bay hotel, that hotel was a completely opposite of this Hotel FIve S. The staff, Kosal, at Five S was very friendly with excellent customer service. He greeted us, provided a welcome drink and explained the area to ...
Just stayed here for a weekend during low season with my girlfriend. It's one of the most expensive hotels in Kampot but it was worth the money. We stayed in the premium room on the 5th floor and it was very well done. There were windows on three sides of the room and a small balcony which gave wonderful views of Bokur Mountain. The bathroom was spotless and well d...
We are a group of 7 with booking of 3 rooms at MAKK hotel for two nights. The hotel is well located with kampot river across the road, you can just sit comfortably in the hotel rest area with a cup of coffee enjoying kampot river's sunset view. Rooms are of good size, clean and nicely decorated. Facilities are adequate with wifi works well throughout. We took day tou...
Close to all Kampot has to offer, but far enough away from the backpacker party scene. Only problem we had was a little traffic noise but coming from a rural area we were not used to the sound of vehicles.
Good value accommodation in a great location in Kampot town, 1 block from the river and lots of restaurants and cafes around. Large comfortable room, relatively basic facilities but good for the price, and the pool is a real bonus - quite small but great to have a chance for a dip, not many hotels in Kampot have pools. Staff were helpful and sorted out a couple of is...
The hotel doesn't actually face the river but the hospital across the side street so no nightclub noises nearby! The restaurant is basic but breakfast and lunchtime baquettes were delicious. Bathrooms are very small with shower right near toilet and basin but plenty of wTer and hot if you wanted it. Room was large with 2 double beds fan and ac. Hanging rack for towels ...
It’s the best place for you to relax if you are on a holiday and lovely to enjoy a peaceful life rather than joining the city hotels containing full of loud noise, the surrounding making it more perfect especially if you are a morning person you will love to smell the fresh air coming from the mountain and sun rise view.
My stay was superb. I had some work to do, and it was the perfect place to relax and get it done. The hotel's location is ideal. I ventured into busier part of town for dinner one night and was a bit disappointed with the food and by the ambiance. It was touristy and loud, compared to my serene spot with excellent food. I did enjoy the sunset river cruise and the ...
This was our first stay at The Columns Hotel but certainly will not be the last. Hotel is tastefully decorated, rooms are comfortable, breakfast is great, staff are attentive. By far the best Khmer managed hotel I have ever stayed in and will certainly stay again on our next visit to Kampot. We only stayed here by chance as our regular 'choices' were booked out but I r...
My girlfriend and I traveled through Cambodia for a month through Siem Reap, Battambang, Sihanoukville and Kampot. Mea Culpa is by far the best accommodations we've stayed at. Their service here stands out more than other accommodations. We were greeted with a smile every time we speak with them. The area of the hotel is very relaxing. Great for just sitting and havi...
My second time here. The resort is nice compare to its price. Good view of Kampot river. Even staffs their is bit slow but I still rate this hotel goods.
This hotel has 6 rooms in front of a grassed area, a nice outdoors pool and a restaurant. The owner and chef are both very friendly and are always available to help you to visit the area. It is a short 5 minutes walk to the main area on Kampot and that is perfect as you can walk by the river to get there and get a great view. The nice thing about it too is that it i...
Spend a night there, the room was great, clean, with classic wooden theme. The bungalow which I stayed was designed to look like typical Cambodian house. This resort is newly built and it’s located next to Kampot river which is also great to relax and enjoy seeing sunset in the evening. Overall, I had a good stay there.
We took a risk with this booking as there were no reviews, and so glad we did. This is a brand new small place with several bungalows. We stayed directly on the river front. Bathroom was clean with a good shower. Bed was clean and comfortable. Not a vast amount of space but enough for us. Lovely small decking area to chill on the river, with your own steps leading down...
We had an absolutely fantastic stay in the twin home guesthouse. We enjoyed our stay and Kampot so much that we extended from 1 night to 6 nights. The room was exactly as advertised-TVwith many channels, wifi, clean shower with hot water and good pressure, fantastic aircon. The room was spotless clean and well maintained. The room is a bit smaller but out is exactly as...
We booked this as a last minute option as our plans changed, it is good value for money and in a good location, with a lovely swimming pool. The rooms are brand new and comfortable with nice balconies. However the hotel is a bit of a strange place, the regular guests seem to be mostly "sexpats" and their treatment of the girls who work there was pretty embarrasing. The...
We had 2 extra days to spend somewhere and we found this friendly small hotel in Kampot. We were surprised when we got to know that one of the owners spoke Swedish. Nice view from the roof terrace.
A very nice hotel, newly built and tastefully decorated, complete with blue buddha statue and goldfish pond in the garden. The rooms are huge, so large you could have yoga classes inside of them. For this price range you will not find a better hotel in Kampot. One of the guys working at reception, his name is Wat, was very kind to take me on his scooter early one morni...
Champa Lodge offers one of the best lodging experiences in Cambodia, particularly for those that love nature and quiet settings. It's location a short distance from Kampot - down a road that is now 90% paved - is ideal, as town is still very accessible via a short moto, bicycle, or tuk-tuk ride, while the Lodge itself is tucked away in a quiet river bend. The owner and...
Living in Phnom Penh can be exhausting from street traffic and pile of trash everywhere, and not too much fresh breeze. Being in Kampot for the purpose of relaxing by the ocean. We are a couple with our motobike (we rode the train with our motobike from Phnom Penh to Kampot). The location of My Parents Guesthouse is about 10min walk from train. Less than 10min by moto...
We loved Good Morning Kampot, after staying in some not so clean places without hot water for a while it was a nice change to find a clean, spacious room. The staff are very friendly, even the owner of the hotel came to speak to us in the rooftop bar. The location is great it’s right on the river front and close to the town centre. You can watch the sunset from...
We stayed here for 3 nights towards the end of our trip, really wished we could stay for longer. Kampot is such a nice town, Sabay beach was about 1.5km out of town on a bumpy road. The facilities are awesome, we stayed in the beach bungalow, overlooking the river. They had a cool restaurant which was kind of a treehouse, had amazing views overlooking the river. Th...
Loved absolutely everything about this place! The concept, the food, the cute little bungalows where you can jump to the river right from your porch! Free yoga class, bycicles and kayaks for guests, astonishing view and great vibe. Ended up not living it for our whole short Kampot stay. Would absolutely recommend it to anyone planning to visit Kampot and relax.
This is a lovely old French colonial hotel, great atmosphere, front rooms have lovely view over the river and mountain. Great food, friendly and helpful staff. A little noisy because of karaoke across the river but it shuts down early, like most of Kampot. Like Kampot, it has huge character, feels like time has passed it by.
many places in Kampot to stay in a hut like accomodation near the river. If you prefer a real hotel in the center of town at a budget than this is the best choice
We thoroughly enjoyed our 1 night stay and would have been happy to stay longer. Cedric the host was excellent and extremely helpful and welcoming. The food in the restaurant was fabulous. We stayed in the family room in the loft which was very spacious, extremely clean and perfect for our family. It was also excellent value for money. We woukd highly recommed auberge...
Cheap places to stay in Kampot
We planned to stay in Kampot for a day or two, and just booked our 4th night here. The location is a 3 minute moped ride (rentals available here) to the center of town, or 10 minutes walking thanks to the old bridge. Quite, fun, relaxed atmosphere with the best food this side of the river. Pool table is a great pass-time, fast wifi, deck/chairs over the river looking a...
Close to everything in Kampot but still quiet as the bar (with quiet music) closes at midnight. Super friendly staff. Although not all of them spoke a lot of English we had no trouble communicating what we needed. Food and drinks were good for a reasonable price, the rooftop terrace was our favorite spot to hang out and meet other travelers when it rained a lot. The ro...
Whilst the resort is a little way out of Kampot (20 min Tuk Tuk) we absolutely loved it here. It's the epitome of what Kampot is about, relaxing with good people in nice surroundings. The staff are very friendly, the food is great and cheap, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The pool is a quirky natural pool which organically cleans itself. It's quite dis...
Excellent facilities very clean excellent WIFI. Very friendly place to stay. Cheap food close to hotel. Tem minute walk to town. 2 minute walk to the river. After 2 months is best hotel i find for this price in Cambodia
Had a fantastic stay here, and didn't want to leave. I heard about this from Nomadic Matt so I booked for a couple of nights, but I kept extending my stay because the town of Kampot and this hostel were so great. I eventually had to move on because they were completely booked, and I didn't want to risk a bad hostel experience by moving someplace else, so I left town re...
We stay here every time we visit Kampot. Mama is truly a "salt of the earth" human being. Simple, but a great bang for your buck. A great place to hang out in Kampot.
Very happy we stayed here. Great A/C, large room with hanging space for clothing, and one of the most comfortable mattresses I’ve felt in Asia. They hand washed some laundry for us at an amazing price. They rented us a great motorbike for the ride into Bokor National Park. Owner was friendly and accommodating. Short walk to the river front, didn’t bother us because we ...

Great food! Amazing, friendly staff :) comfy beds. Best place we have stayed in all of Cambodia Thanks to the owner Chris for organising moto’s, our return bus and all in all a fantastic time in Kampot!! Monique and Paul - Australia
First, it was extremely hard to find the hotel. Neither Google nor Agoda could give us the right adress: the guesthouse is located on same road than Diamond Hotel of Kampot, on Google you may find it close to Hotel "Sambo Leap Guesthouse". Room was OK: clean with confortable beds, this is what we were desiring the most; although the entire place seemed to be still "und...
When we came to a booked hotel it was full. But we got another building new one, same owner. Everything new.
This was my 3rd trip to Kampot and this is the best place i've stayed. It's a new hotel with big rooms. Super good value and quiet at night. Staff are amazing, even moving a table in from reception so I could work. Jimmi rode me to the store loads of times and kept me entertained with his great singing. This really is an undiscovered gem, I think because people think t...
Hotel staff friendly upon arrival but during our stay the staff was often impolite for no apparent reason. My daughter got our room number wrong and the employee openly laughed and made fun of her to other employees. There are Tuk Tuks parked outside of hotel which is convenient. The drivers become rude and belligerent if you turn down their services regardless of how ...
many places in Kampot to stay in a hut like accomodation near the river. If you prefer a real hotel in the center of town at a budget than this is the best choice
Loved this hotel so much, prompted me to write my first review after being SE Asia for 3 months. We booked for one night, ended up staying for 5. The rooms are spacious, very clean, have comfortable beds, nice flat screen television, powerful shower, effective air conditioning and dimmable lighting for the evenings. Everything you need to unwind after a busy day in kam...
Located right on the river, Samon Village is a great place to chill out. The bamboo huts are hidden in banana trees, the bar juts out over the river, and the communal bathrooms are very clean and well kept. Samon wants to educate his travellers and the locals of Kampot on Khmer culture. Once a week there is a traditional Khmer communal meal held at Samon Village which ...
If you're looking for a cheap good value place in Kampot this is it. Rooms are basic (ours didn't have a sink?) but nice with comfortable beds and good shower pressure. Easy walking distance (5 min) to river and main downtown area. Not a backpacker hostel so no real atmosphere, but staff are really friendly and ready to help with anything you need (scooter, bus, etc)! ...
Stayed here a few months ago but forgot to review. The value for money for this place was Amazing!! So clean and looked brand new. Needed a ped to get around as the location wasn't great but a fantastic place to stay. Could rent less from the hotel. Owners couldn't speak much English but was always happy to try and help. Would definitely return.
This place is kept very clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel was built last year and they are doing very well at keeping it clean. The cleaners are busy everyday. The location is great, right next to the market so you can get everything you need nearby. It's about a 5-10 minute walk to the waterfront which is not a problem. The hotel is set ...
The hotel is newly built/refurbished and the decor was of a modern-standard. The room was reasonably spacious, clean and well-decorated too. The front of house staff were very friendly which enhanced our, already enjoyable, stay in Kampot. The bathroom/wetroom was decorated to a good standard but the water did not drain off properly, leaving standing water that sometim...
Lovely place. Restaurant has a super chill atmosphere and nice views over the river, serving good breakfast for a decent price. Bungalows come with musquito net and fan. Everything is very clean. Good internet. Friendly hosts. An extra bathroom (or just a toilet toilet) would be nice. Not too far from the city, cheap bicycles are for rent and you'll be in Kampot in 5 m...
The place is quite new but minea and the rest of the staff do the best to comfort you and welcome you. It's a little bit far off but as you need a scooter for kampot anyway that shouldn't be the biggest issue. The breakfast is the best I had in any hostel between Oceania and Asia and you got a kitchen as well for your own use
I chose this new hotel in Kampot based on Agoda reviews and was not disappointed. The location is just off of the Durian roundabout, within easy walking distance to the river front area. There is a mini market nearby and a café just across the street for excellent Cambodian coffee. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to accommodate my needs, includ...

Amazing place where to spend some exceptional quiet time. A bit outside of the town of Kampot, the guesthouse is right in the middle of a lovely local village. Perfect for kayaking around, bicycle or walking is also lovely with lots of lovely places where to have food or drink just around the corner. With a motorbike rented at the guesthouse the town is just 10 min awa...
Kampot Guesthouse is the best budget hotel in Kampot, recommended for small groups or families. The pool is sparkling, crystal clear, and well maintained. The bar and restaurant menu are limited, they do serve cold draft beer in the bar area which looks like a cool little Tiki bar. The rooms are average, dimly lit, and could use a makeover. We enjoyed our stay at Kamp...
Our stay at Mr. Lengs place was memorable. Mr. Leng and his family were very warm and welcoming. Not only they provided us with great recommendations, but Mr. Leng also rescued us when our motorbike wasn't starting in the middle of nowhere. He came very quickly, and arranged a new bike for us. The next day he accompanied us to bargain the price to fix the bike. You co...

It was amazing to see the restoration of this 1920s Hotel to its Glory! Very comfortable rooms. The location is far but a great drive up Bokor Mountain and the view is Awesome especially watching the sunset over the Ocean from 1000 metres. We visited during soft opening and surprised with the great service and food.A credit to Sokha Hotels.

The town has a lovely green location with the river and Bokor Mountains to admire. River trips are enjoyable and visit the pepper fields.
Historic French colonial former port Laid back, very friendly, great food, good base to explore the area from None of the greedy hassle that ruined Sihanokville All its short of are some beaches, but if you're going to Cambodia don't miss this place
The river is good to watch & there is a promenade beside it. The market is an endless source of interest, selling just about anything & a fine choice of fresh seafood.
Nice pepper farm to visit with private tour if you have lunch there, caves nearby to visit. Good trips to other hotels for lunch or dinner.
Kampot was much quieter than Sihanoukville, where we live. I find the quiet streets, and lack of Tuk-Tuks, motos and cars to be a pleasant diversion.
Ever stumbled on a small unassuming restaurant that blows you away with its food ... Check out the Honeymoon restaurant and its French owner .
Had a fantastic time in Kampot. Visit a water hole which is over the new bridge take right and follow this road.
Far from see. Close Kep seems better future in tourist industry. Two main attractions:pepper and durian.
Walking or staying at a bar along the river to watch the sunset is quite fun. Get another full day to visit Kep and Rabbit island.
Very nice relaxing and laid back town in Cambodia. It is worth a visit to chill out and visit some significant locations in Cambodian history.
The town has a very French flavour about it, but I was slightly disappointed to read that many of the buildings which look quite old are, in fact, relatively modern, although there are, clearly, quite a few older "French" style dwellings, shops etc.
Good City to hang out in! Lots of good restaurants available, lots of outdoor activities possible, lots of relaxation possible! Also good to visit Kep which is nearby.
Great, relaxing city. Easy to get around by tuk tuk or just walking. Nice place to unwind. Try some crab with kampot pepper!
Such a beautiful are to relax in after you have been through the hustle and bustle that is Cambodia. Lovely food, lovely people, lovely sights
Shop at the old rickety market (not at the fancy Central "revitalised "market). You can get different grades of Kampot pepper there for $8 to $30 a kilogram.
A tranquil riverine town with a nice placid river & riverfront. One could easily rent a good motorcycle & go for a bit of adventure in the countryside.
Try the ribs at Rusty Keyhole but be very hungry before you go. Senor Pacos is worth a trip. Go up river by boat and stop off at Champ and Greenhouse for cold beers and see the fireflies on return
Kampot is a scenic destinations with a beautiful river. The surrounding mountains provide a beautiful backdrop.
I didnt have time to stop by, just to pass by. I didn't see much activity beside a lots of food vendor on street.
Kampot is a charming riverfront town with beautiful views of the mountains. It is a comfortable relaxing place to spend a few days.
Peaceful and relaxing little city with some splendid views. Drinking beer by the lake was simple fantastic! Highly recommend.
Don't have a health problem here I needed to see a doctor so went to new hospital outpatients and the nursing staff not only wouldn't help me but were rude.
The best word to describe Kampot is laidback. Sleepy, relaxing, fresh air, peace and quiet. It's not the most picturesque place you'll ever see, but it most certainly isn't ugly.
Kampot is a peaceful quaint charm small town with French colonial building. The timeless countryside that surrounds it is carpeted by a wide range of emerald color.
Kampot is not a very big town but it is still worth a look if you are out and about after the sun goes down I do recommend that you have a torch handy as there is no street lights apart from that the people are friendly and welcoming
Kampot is a great place to witness Cambodia, as it is, not just the big city of Phnom Penh or the tourist attraction of Siem Riep.
