Where to stay in Gyeongju-si
Gyeongju-si hotels & accommodations

Hilton Gyeonguju is located at the center of tourist attraction spot in Gyeongju. Lake Bomun is also just behind this hotel. it is very good for walking with fresh air. Star bucks coffee shop newly opened beside this hotel. So, I enjoyed my favorite coffee there and the interior of this star bucks coffee shop is very unique. it expresses part of traditional Korean cu...

I am so glad I have chose this hotel for my trip jn Gyeongju. Everything was excellent. Such a beautiful hotel and clean. The location of this hotel at Bomun Lake which very convenient to access most all of the attractions in Gyeongju. The staff was very helpful, I asked for the tour guide in Gyeongju and they recommend me Mr John/Jihn which I think I would rate him 10...

the bus from singyeongju station goes straight to the hotel, just make sure you get on the one that goes to bomun lake resort (i think it was number 700). we ordered room service and they messed up our order a lot so we almost got charged twice for the food we ordered, which was difficult to explain in basic english, but it got sorted out eventually. it was pretty ea...

Excellent!!! My thanks to Ms. Lee for arranging a wonderful Taxi (6484) Driver/Guide Mr. Lee who took us around the cultural & historical sites in Gyeongju-si. Our Gratitude to Mr. Chang the owner who personally come around to attend to our needs. Our trip to Gyeongju-si has been greatly enhanced with the intervention of the hotel staff & Mr. Chang; without which we wo...

Good location in city. Just few minutes to go all famous tour attractions by driving. The room was clean and cozy. Not really huge but enough to stay for a couple. One single size bed with one double size bed in the Skyview room. All hotel staffs were friendly. Nice jacuzzi. Recommended hotel.

Location is excellent. within waking distance from express bus terminal and also intercity bus terminal. Room is clean, nice, but has thin wall, so we can hear if someone was walking and talking loud outside. But fortunately, during our stay, there was only a few guest. the hotel staff is so helpful with giving information and quite good with english. There are lockers...

Pros: smack in the middle of the business district Lots of tourist attractions close by Cons: the park view is facing a very public place and the mountain view is too green...very lush view. What stood out: Gyeongju is not known for its night life and if you are using public transportation it's even more dangerous so being close to a lot of things and not having to...

This hotel had favorable reviews so I followed those before me and booked a room for my overnight trip for Silla tomb sightseeing. So glad I did. Everything about the stay was excellent including the usuals - location, cleanliness, staff, and price. The icing on the cake was the hotel 'sauna', included in the price of the room. In Korea, 'sauna' means a public-styl...

The property is gorgeous and well kept. All the amenities are as promised. It has the old world charm and the staff are extremely helpful and welcoming. It is located a little away from the city but that just adds to the countryside feel. It is peaceful and away from all the hustle and bustle. I would recommend everyone to stay here while in Gyeongju.

My stay at Gyeongju was made perfect by the choice of The Suite Hotel. It came across as a relatively new hotel (was there in feb 2011), with contemporary designs and new/well-maintained facilities. The check-in counter staff were very friendly. Even though they did not speak English very fluently, they tried their very best to communicate with us in the clearest way p...

Located in the heart of Gyeongju Daereungwon Ancient Tomb Complex in Gyeongju-si. Accessible by bus from the Singyeongju Station. If you are looking for Korean traditional house to stay, this is the right place. Easy to find convenient shops and closed to Western fast food. You must contact the host before arriving at the guesthouse as there is no one waiting in the re...

Location is great, next to intercity bus terminal. There is a tourist information center next the bus terminal too. I can catch a bus to sightseeing too. Communication with the staff is just good enough and they have well prepared English instruction for everything. Breakfast is serviced in the room which need to order when check-in. I am having a pleasant stay in Gyeo...

The hotel has an excellent location for Bulguksa temple and the Seokguram grotto. It has a golf course pool and other leisure facilities. Otherwise there is nothing in the near vicinity as it it far from central Gyeongju. Overall standard is good and clean although slightly dated. Breakfast mostly Korean food and quite expensive.

Had a really great memorable stay in Gyeongju Blue Boat. The room is very clean, bed is very comfy, room heating works well, clean bathroom, hostel has all the basic facilities you need, location is convenient in the city centre and close to some historical sites such as cheomsongdae, anapji pond, daerungwon. Finding places to eat is very easy too. The staff Sharon wa...

It was a pleasant locality. The climate was nice during June & July. The location of hotel was in an accessible distance from all the tourist spots nearby. Vegetarians will find it difficult in Gyeongju but still you can manage with global food chains like Domino's, Burger King and Starbucks nearby this hotel. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. They prov...

If you want to be away from the hustle and bustle busy streets, this place is perfect. Tucked away in a quiet corner near bulguksa, not even easy to find the entry. Only a few pensions are nearby. No amenities around but they run a cozy cafe where you can get drinks. We enjoyed our stay.

This great located in Gyeongju Central city, close to sightseeing place such as Daereungwan can reach their by walk, also can walk to bus terminal. Owner is very nice, helpful and warm welcome. It was a good time with experience to stay such Undol style. I love it, Breakfast it look easy but served and cook by owener. I have a wonderful time on my vacation at Happy vi...

The hotel was relatively new so it was clean! But this place deserves 5+ stars for customer service and excellent front desk. They helped my family not only with getting cabs but also with making reservations for the bullet train and bus rides to other cities. Again, the staff service was above and beyond what I have seen from other places. I'm not sure why others gave...

This cute Hanok stay is located perfectly in Gyeongju. All the historical sites are within walking distance. The rooms are so comfy and have a touch of the owner who paints all the paintings in the room. The owner and her daughter helped us with our travels and took the time to explain everything to us. The home made Korea Breakfast is delicious. I will definitely be b...

Not a far walk from Gyeongju train station but the road it is on has pretty much nothing else. Each bed has a privacy curtain and light so it was real comfy. Make sure you know a little Korean or have someone who can help because the staff didn't seem to speak much English so I spoke only in Korean to them. They seemed friendly though. The hostel is under 10 min from t...

Walking distance from intercity bus terminal and express bus terminal. Unesco World Heritage sites are also within walking distance. One of the best hostels. Very strategic location: within 200 meters from Gyeongju Express Bus and Inter-city Bus Terminals, walking distance from Gyeongju Historic Areas (Ancient Tombs, Anapji Pond, and Gyeongju National Museum), and very near the bus stations to Bulguksa Temple or to Yangdong Village, or even to the train stations. The room was very clean, beds and ...

Amazing service from the owner/host, who gave us fantastic and detailed advice on how to make the most of our limited time and see the best of Gyeongju. The house was clean, and they've done a great job of integrating modern amenities with the traditional architecture.

It’s our first night in Gyeongju, and we arrived at 11pm+ with a late bus from Seoul. The owner waited for us and even gave us ramyeon when she knew we were hungry but most shops/restaurants close early in this quaint town. That was so touching! The room is comfy and warm with enough blankets and extremely clean. The guesthouse also functions as a cafe and their decor...

This is an hostel which has an ambition of becoming a hotel! I like it very much! It's a new hostel. Everything is new and clean. The room is well-equipped and nice-furnished! The bed sheet and comforter are super clean! The heating system is powerful, more than warm enough. I felt warm and comfortable in winter nights. There is a tea bag, an instant coffee bag and a b...

The owner is warm and kind. There were a lot trouble in this trip but the owner gave me help. At first, We were too busy to go on way to Gyeongju si from airpot, and we didn't eat anyhing. even if that, she still provided breakfeast to us and was concerned with my grandpa. Then, My cousin's shoes was broken, she gave us power glue to repair. the room was clean and w...

Very well maintained guest house. Great location and helpful staff. 7 mins walk from the intercity bus terminal. Agoda's check in time was 1 pm but on arrival, the staff said check in is at 3 pm. However, the accommodated us by 1 30 so I am not taking this into account. The room and property is very clean and the breakfast is quite good (bread, eggs, peanut butter, j...

This hostel is just a few minutes walk away from Gyeongju Train Station, so it is really convenient. My friends and I booked one entire 4-bed room, and it was very clean. Each room has a private bathroom, which was also very clean. There was enough space for all of our belongings although the room isn't that large. The hostel provides egg and toast breakfast in the lou...

This guest house is really great,me and my friend decided to stay there for 1 night. At first it was hard to find but in the end it was easy. I had an amazing time here. 41st is down the road and across the bridge from Gyeongju Train Station, or opposite Silla Middle School. You can access it easily with city buses or a taxi. They're mainly a Backpackers Hostel, but I do think they may have private rooms as well. The beds are really great, and you get a locker with a key. The central lounge area is always ...

Stayed here 4 nights. The place has a nice, cozy vibe to it. Breakfast is simple, but good. The beds are spacious and the whole place is quite clean. The hosts are absolutely wonderful; they went above and beyond to make my stay as pleasant as it could be. Also close to the bus station and in walking distance of quite a few of the attractions. Will be staying again sho...

Due to the cherry blossom festival, it's not easy to find a hotel in Gyeongju. The hotel is within 15min walk from rail station & bus station but it was quite difficult to find. So better go to the Tourism Information Desk to get the map & the route of how to get there. Tradition hanok and great for money. Nearby, many good restaurants.

We got to Gyeongju late around 11:00 pm and the owner friendly greeted us. We got the last couple room on the third floor which is located quite far from other rooms. I don't know if you can request but please ask for that room if you'd want some privacy. Breakfast is provided. Basic simple room for 2 people with bed, TV and bathroom. It's close to the Bus terminal st...

I have a short one-night stay here. This place is nice with attentive staffs. It is close to attractive and Gyeongju Station. Their bed and room is cozy and overall atmosphere is fun. I love their decoration on the wall. It gives good information about many attraction around Gyeongju.

I really liked Modorine because it's relaxed and not complicated. I arrived during Chuseok so CHanseok hasn't been around personally. But all was well arranged to welcome me. In the hostel there's even kind of a family atmosphere. Having breakfast with homemade bread and jam together is great. We even cooked dinner together.

Had an excellent stay here in November. When searching for lodging in Gyeongju, I was a little hesitant about Tavo due to the startlingly (I'm being quite literal here - look them up) positive reviews on other sites, but they do live up to their reputation. Leaving afterwards to Seoul, it was my first time in Gyeongju and my second time travelling via intercity train, ...

Great location! This hotel is just 5-min on foot from the long distance bus terminal (we got to Gyeongju from Seoul by bus), and just outside the bus terminal there is a Tourist Center where the girl can speak very good Chinese! There are many small restaurants around, you can walk around to see the traditional korean-style alleys and houses and get to the ancient tomb...

The hostel is superbly clean. Stayed in a 6 bed female dorm. Breakfast was alright (eggs, toast). Fresh towels daily. Abit far from gyeongju express bus station if you walk, probably takes 20 mins with your luggage but the hostel is close to gyeongju's 'town centre' where there's lots of food and shops. It is close to the tomb complex too. Other main attractions (eg. a...

a pleasant surprise, such large rooms and bathroom was unbelievable. I loved the owners, an elderly couple and their son who helped us book our flight tickets to Jeju using his credit card----------so much trust. Don't waste your money spending three times as much on one of the resorts in Gyeongju, and avoid the traffic. Outside of Bulguksa and Seokkuram, most attractions are near downtown. This is a 'love motel' but definitely not shady. Nice spacy room, very clean, quiet neighborhood, but within 5 minutes of downtown and most Gyeongju attractions. Definitely recommend for the...

We self-drive during our trip in South Korea. We encountered a little trouble because the place is not in the GPS system in our rented car. Luckily, we managed to find it with some kind help. This place will be slightly hard to reach by using public transport. However, the place is really worth to stay. It is like a serviced apartment with a well-equipped kitchen, bedr...

This area is FULL of stuff to do!! Toy Village, Temples, Museums, Parks...you name it! There's fishing nearby (bring your own fishing pole though), and the pension is comfortable and cute. The AC, internet, Cable tv, BBQ, kids play pool etc were all great. Plenty of cups, but not many plates. The staff is responsive, friendly and helpful.

A beautiful and fairly quiet setting amid other luxury and highrise hotels and condo complexes on Pomun Lake, about 10-15 minutes by car from downtown Gyeongju and about 15-20 minutes from the famous Bulgooksa temple. Location is conveniently near several restaurants. Spacious rooms all afford excellent views and have balconies. Staff is very attentive and helpful a...

we stayed here 3 nights in order to visit the historical sites in gyeongju. the hotel was in a lovely location on bomun lake, and it has a lot of conveniences on site, such as a little grocery, a few restaurants and even a baskin robbins. there is a water park on site too, but it looked like 1/2 of it was outside (and it was quite chilly out) so we didn't end up goin...

Real reviews for hotels
Many people make Seoul the number 1 spot for South Korea. Well, maybe for accessibility wise. But if you are talking about relaxation, culture and history, it must be Gyeongju.
Gyeongju has its own Namsan which gives u a good hike (wear appropriate hiking shoes pls) with nice views and Buddhist Relics.
it is a small town, but it has many historical sights, and one of those, Anap-ji is really good to see at night.
Gyeongju is a quaint town that used to to be the capital of ancient silla. The sokkuran grotto and bulguks temple is a must-see.
I recommend to go by car so you can visit Busan and Ulsan as well. Kyung-ju alone may not be so much to offer .
Having lived in Korea for five years, I will say that Gyeongju is probably the best place I've visited in terms of experiencing Korea culture and for sightseeing.
Very small city, however, there is a lot to see, so plan accordingly. It was tough for us to see all that we wanted to, but there is always spots that you miss.
The only problem we seem to have about this city is that it lacks adequate public transportation. Whenever a big event is planned such as a marathon, the city has only one bus line to take people back and forth to the temple areas.
In short, Gyeongju-si can be called a city of ancient tombs. You can so easily find tombs of ancient kings and queens of the Shilla dynasty there.
There are lots of sites to visit in Gyeongju, with lots of diversity. There is a nice National museum, the tumulus park beautiful in autumn, the Anapji pond magic at night, Namsan mount fabulous to walk, Bugulska to discover .
Selecting the best spots to visit in Gyeongju, one would be able to cover them all in a day. Go to Anapji Pond at night where the lights show the beauty of the structures.
You must hire a bike for cycling and exploring the sightseeing venue there. Cycling is a very good choice.
Only Korean historical sites are worthy to visit. No other tourist spots. Traffic is not convenient. We had to catch taxi to go anywhere.
People were great even they spit a lot. Good transportation and a lot of place for sightseeing but none of them really impressed me
If you are going around the downtown area, you can rent a bicycle and go around. There are plenty of sites in walking distance at downtown area like Anapji Pond, Cheomseongdae Tomb Complex and etc.
great , peacefull and people are friendly but a bit disappointed on the bus driver where he did not refund the balance of the amounts for the bus fare.
Excellent city, lots of sightseeing activities,. You can learn a lot about ancient kKrea and Korean Buddhism.
Very historical place. Unlike Seoul or other places in Korea, it is very peaceful and beautiful, especially in the spring.
Gyeongju is a must for those who wish to learn about the Silla Dynasty. Downtown Gyeongju is not where the typical tourist would go to.
This city offers a cross-section of Korean life - agriculture, commerce and a breakout retail area. Add the cultural significance of the Historic areas and the visitor is in for a real treat
Nice small city. Just a base of operations. All of the attractions are out of town, buteasy to reach.
As above, something of a tourist mecca, catering for most, if not all tastes and budgets. Also seemed to be a cruise stop off point (Ulsan near by?) so a good mix of tourists there.
The only reason to stay near this city is to visit the temples. Not much else and everything can be seen in one day if you have a car and get up early.
Relaxing and calming place without a subway system but efficient bus systems. However, it might be difficult if you do not understand Korean as the bus routes are all in Korean.
It is a very nice and clean city. there are many activities. We did ATV's and it was fun! i would definetly go back again if I had the change.
It is an old town where developments are still far away. Quite different from Seoul and Pusan. People are friendly and kind.
Very close to Busan and can be very busy in the weekend. Beautiful county scenery and the historical sites are fascinating.
A very beautiful place surrounded by ancient monuments and rich history. Shilla Millenium Park at Bomun Lake area is a good place to explore with replica of Shilla Palace and lots of activites there to fill the day.
Traditional Korean city. All houses are very low in structure and you can see a lot of Korean style houses even the roof of gasoline station are in Korean style .

Gyeongju-si, often referred to as the "museum without walls," is a city brimming with historical significance, once serving as the capital of the ancient Silla Kingdom. This enchanting destination is home to numerous UNESCO World Heritage Sites that offer a glimpse into Korea's rich past. Notably, the Bulguksa Temple and Seokguram Grotto stand out as prime examples of exquisite architecture and spiritual heritage. Bulguksa Temple, with its intricate stone carvings and serene atmosphere, invites visitors to explore its beautiful halls and pagodas, all while soaking in the peaceful ambiance that surrounds this sacred site.
Seokguram Grotto, perched on the slopes of Toham Mountain, is equally captivating. Traveling to Gyeongju-si can be an exciting adventure, but being prepared with some essential tips can make your experience even smoother.
