City Center hotels & places to stay

Hidden like a secret garden this was one of the best places we stayed during our 3 week travel in Cambodia. Great little villas of high standard, quiet, nice pool to relax after touring the area, super friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast and restaurant. Maybe a little on the outskirts of the city, but getting to the city center by tuk tuk or free bike is only 5 mins. Only trouble we had was the communication with the restaurant staff. You get about half of what you ordered and the other half is a surprise, but still always good food, so we can't really complain.

Very attentive staff, tucked away hotel in Battambang made it a very nice oasis from the dirty ruckus in city center, however is still close enough to walk to some restaurants/bars and definitely accessible by $1 USD tuk tuk drivers. Room was spacious and peaceful, breakfast was great, and service was always highly attentive w/ great, courteous staff. Great value for money as well.

Loved this hotel, read previous reviews and wasn't so sure after we had booked it but couldn't fault anything (we got a room with a window but kept the curtains shut). The room was spotlessly clean, the staff friendly and attentive. We put some clothes to launder and they came back the next day, very cheap too. We had breakfast at the hotel, the food wasn't special but it was tasty and served quickly. The pool was great to cool down in. We really enjoyed the rooftop, it was peaceful with fantastic views of the city, shame it didn't have a bar, they could make a fortune from it. Would recommend highly a stay here, great value for money, would definitely go back.

My stay at Jasmine Hotel exceeded my expectation. The room was very clean and spacious. There's a desk, TV and a wardrobe to hang your clothes. The bed was comfortable, air con worked good. The bathroom was very clean and modern. There's a hair dryer that you can borrow from the receptionist. Wifi was also good. The food they serve in the cafe was also good and with a good price. The menu was well varied. The only minor disadvantage is the location that is slightly outside the city center. But not so far.

For $46US total for 2 nights it was a deal. Nice location, nice room - hot water, good A/C, fan, good Wifi, comfortable bed, fridge. There was no safe in my room but the hotel and the city were safe. Just carried my passport, money and credit cards with me. There was a gecko in the room - which I didn't mind - except that it made sounds that woke me up. A simple "Shhhh!" took care of the problem. My rate did not include breakfast but there were plenty of cafes within walking distance. The staff was good - not rude nor friendly - efficient, yes. The whole city was like that, which was fine with me. Small town with a big city attitude. Will definitely stay at Lux Guest House again.

The whole accommodation was really nice and spacious. It was quite fancy and out of my expectation (the pool) for the price I paid. Staffs were also very nice and accommodating to our requests. AC and Wifi were good. Like any guesthouse, they provide the basic needs. Best part about this place is the restaurant in the same compound. The food was good and at an affordable price. The only disappointing factor about this place is its location. I was expecting it to be closer to city center in a walking distant manner.

Had a decent stay at lucky hostel. Battambang city centre is small so its easy to get around on foot from the hostel - or at least we thought so! Looks recently renovated and the rooms are pretty new and clean so feels like a hotel. Stayed in both fan with shared bathroom and a/c private bathroom and both were nice just depends on your budget. There's even a pool to take a dip in. Staff were super friendly and helpful, although it would be great if they could be mindful of noise before 7am. I'm an early riser but still like a bit of peace! Recommend this place to all.

Battambang is a sleepy town with plenty to see if you do your research. This hotel was very well priced, opposite local food markets Only downsides were demolition going on next door, music from market pumping til late and leaking air con (had to place a bin underneath to catch the drips), and breakfast cafe options nearby were minimal & pricey These are only very minor grievances, you're travelling, you should be up nice and early seeing this great city!

Pomme Hostel is one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at. Owners and staff are great - more personable than any staff I’ve met in Cambodia. Had a great few evenings chatting (and drinking) with them into the night. The bar is one of the “places to be” in Battambang (live music, trivia, daily happy hour, a selection of beers on tap including Cambodian craft beer), but it doesnt stay loud too late in the evening. The rooms are basic and small and get a little warm, but they’re also incredible value for the money. They offer tours (highly recommended - we did the full day and the cooking class with Smokin Pot) and will book your travel. Put simply, we loved this place and you will too.

We booked for 2 nights but only stayed for 1 then we got on the overnight bus down to the South. Really large room and soft bed, nice hot shower! Located at the city center, just 30 meters away from the sitting bus station and 20 meters away from the overnight sleeping bus station(just behind the gas station). Didn't try the food at the restaurant. There's a restaurant&cafe just across the street. Good food. If you want to book bus ticket just go to the bus station, don't book from the hotel, they charge more.

The guesthouse is in a great location, right next to a delicious restaurant where you can also take a cooking class. You are about 3 minutes away from the market and some other great cafes and restaurants. The room was extremely clean and the bathroom was well kept. Would highly recommend. Staff was also very kind! PS. Not apart of the room but we had an amazing tuk-tuk driver who gave us a tour around the city, he was so helpful and informative, we started with one day and ended up hanging out with him for two days! If anyone wants a driver who is authentic and not trying to hassle you for every penny along with someone to just really help show you Battambang, his name is Mr. Sophat 085-651-731 or 031 4 137 137.

The hotel manager is extremely nice. He met us at the boat deck from Siem Reap and gave us a free ride to the hotel. . the hotel location is not too far from the city center. You can leisury walk to the market and all the restaurants. The room is large, clean and has nice bedding. The bathroom has a bathtub. Rent a tuk tuk to go to Wat Pra Saphoueng up in the moutain.

Loved it! Was strange to me that people moaned about the fact its not a "real" shower and just a large basin (i.e. use a cup to throw cold water on yourself) because 1. That was common many places we've travelled in SE Asia and 2. It's so refreshing and great to shower this way when the weather is so hot! My advice is to just embrace it - there's a reason this is a common way to shower. We were worried how much we'd get bitten here as my bf reacts badly to bites, but it wasn't a problem. The location is a bit far out but really beautiful and so easy to book tours from. We stayed 2 nights here and then 2 nights in the centre and really felt this gave us a full feel of Battambang, seeing 2 totally different sides!

Situated close to town in a relatively quite street. We were unlucky to strike a funeral which lasted two days and was very noisy. This was not the owners fault and could not be helped. They did however put us in a rear room as far from the noise as possible. Very helpful. Close to the market, cafes and restaurants. Front desk can organise most things for you at a reasonable price.

I stayed at Paris Hotel for one night, and it was a last minute booking. The hotel itself is in a great location, close to the central market and bus stations. The building itself is quite old and could use some updating. The room was acceptable, and the a/c was able to keep up with the heat. When I arrived, the room had no towels and toiletries or toilet paper. The plus side is I believe each room has a balcony, but it's usually too hot to enjoy being outside this time of year. Additionally, this hotel does not have wifi. Otherwise, the hotel itself was fine, the staff was friendly.

I chose this hotel because I did not want to be on the residential side of the river nor in the busy city center. The hotel is a pleasant 10 to 15 minute stroll from the market area and nearby restaurants. Breakfast in the vast dining area is somewhat limited for such a large hotel, and is exactly the same every day. Sometimes you must wait for the lady who cooks the eggs to appear. The pool area is in the sun most of the day and is very pleasant.

Stayed for 1 night. Single room without breakfast $6. + Very close to the city center. Big room with aircon and bathroom. They provide towels soap and thooth brushes. - Location is not very inviting though. Blanket was dirty, bathroom stinks and wifi connection was slow, weak, disconnected all the time. Some of the staff don't speak English at all. There are for sure better places to stay for that price.

Quite good I'd recomend it especially for the price.It has no food that I could tell but I ate at places like Ganesha anyway. worked out well.It seems to be an asian centric hotel,Maybe Thai's?,wealthier than average locals visiting town? English is bad or non existant among staff if your like me and not panicked by that its all good as they are freindly.I had trouble booking onward transport I would cut the hassle and book buses at another hotel like the Hotel Royal.cheap clean and luxurious almost but still with a bit of carachter.

We stayed for 2 weeks in a superior room. There were many positive things - the bed was comfy, the table/desk was good for extended periods on a laptop, aircon worked well, nice warm bath, good sized flat-screen TV with many channels. Our balcony overlooked a banana field with squirrels, which was pleasant. We enjoyed the pool, the garden (hunt for the pagoda with the plug if you want to use your laptop) and the well equipped gym. A few warnings / minor negatives - the standard rooms are all in an older part of the hotel and are a clear step down from the superior ones, for only a small saving in price. They are also busier so you'll get more noise from other guests; it's better to get the superior room. Don't expect much from the restaurant. There are a couple of nice places to eat across the road but the center of town with more food options is a couple of kms away. There are always tuk tuks waiting to take you there but realistically you'll need your own transport unless you're only staying a short time. The gym has aircon but they wouldn't turn it on so it's too hot to use except in the mornings and evenings.
