Located on the outskirts of Obertraun, Apartment Stadler is just a 5-minute walk from Lake Hallstatt and 5 km from Hallstatt. All apartments offer free WiFi and have a balcony overlooking the lake. The spacious apartments feature wooden floors, a bathroom, and a living room with a kitchenette, satellite TV, and CD and DVD players. The Stadler Apartment has a terrace and a ski storage room. The apartment is situated a bit uphill from the center of Obertraun which allows it to have an amazing lake view from the balcony. There’s also a beautiful garden with a small lake and lovely flowers. Apartment was perfectly clean and had all the basic facilities. Elisabeth was a great host and she gave us helpful tips on parking, tours and places to see. We also got a toursit card that allows for special discount on some attractions.

Million Dollar View with Comfortable Cabin Charm in the Austrian Alps!”

The view was amazing. The house is up on a hill and situated on the edge of the woods with beautiful views in all directions. The flat was extremely comfortable, with two well-matched bedrooms, private sinks, a full kitchen with oven and dishwasher, and a really comfortable seating area around the dining table. Wifi worked well enough to stream and hold work meetings. Lighting in all of the rooms was excellent, and the natural wood made it feel warm and homey. Entire space was very well equipped. The water pressure was not particularly strong, but the water was warm, drained well, and didn't leak. The small town is extremely walkable. Radiators worked great, and towel warmers in the bathroom were lovely. The host was even good enough to pick us up at the train station to avoid the rain, and told us where to find dinner. Host also lived on-site and was extremely responsive without being intrusive. The neighborhood was extremely quiet.
The only minor down-side was that the best view was in the bedrooms, rather than the communal space. In the warmer months, however, you could sit on the shared balcony to enjoy it together. The town is also very small with minimal dining options, but the pizzaria and the resort restaurant both more than met our needs, and it's only a ~15 minute bus ride to Hallstatt with a few more options. This is not to do with the property, but I cannot recommend the large supermarkt across from the bus stop in Hallstatt. My brother & I missed our bus while purchasing a few things for dinner after touring Hallstatt. The next bus wasn't due for an hour so we returned to the store to continue browsing, but the man at the register rudely kicked us out just as soon as we re-entered, in spite of the driving rain and freezing temperature. Much better to go to the supermarkt in Obertraun or even the mini market in Obertraun resort, which had better selection and prices anyway.
