Peaceful getaway from the city ”
We chose Alfonso Hotel since it was close to the venue of a wedding we'd be attending. The price point and good reviews we read convinced us to book immediately. The hotel was a bit tricky to find since we checked in at night and the facade isn't well lit, but the interior of the hotel was sufficiently lit (and quite cozy). We were pleasantly surprised at the size of our room. It was so spacious! Even the bathroom was spacious. We were a bit disappointed that there wasn't a TV, but it was okay since it made our stay feel more like an escape from normal life. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom had a heated shower, which were our minimum requirements. The clean air and quiet atmosphere was a plus. Oh and it's close to good places to eat (Delantera, Bag of Beans, Sonya's Garden). And the staff were kind enough to let us check out late. We'd definitely come back! (Just bring your own water and some snacks if you have a tendency to get hungry at night)

Needs an update”
The hotel and room is nice it just needs to be a little more less scary since it has few guests and the design and appliances are a bit old or outdated. But all in all the place is clean, quiet and can accommodate if your purpose is just to sleep or rest. Have complimentary breakfast of 2 loaves of bread with jam and butter plus a cup of coffee. Near the highway and the staff are friendly.

Dear Sir, thank you so much for taking your time to leave a review on the cleanness of the hotel and friendliness of the staff.
The only great thing about this place is Bek's hospitality and warmth. ”
Questionable sheets. No wifi in room. Too bright at day time. Dining is next to the toilet.

Thank you for taking your time to commend our staff! We didn't first understand your statement about "Dining is next to the toilet" but upon investigating, we learned that the housekeeper placed the table and chairs in the bathtub and CR area of your Family Room. Our Family Room has a very large bathroom area of 17sqm and with lack of comfortable space in the bedroom, she placed it in the bathroom area, which was not correct, and we apologize. Thank you for pointing this out as it will help us to do better next time.
Best Value for Money”
we stayed twice at the alfonso hotel, last december 29, 2012 and january 30, 2013, both because of weddings held at chapel on the hill and caleruega. the hotel served its purpose well, just the right place to stay for out-of-town guests. the alfonso hotel is a 5-10 minute drive to the two chapels, 2-3 minute drive to sonya's garden. the rooms are unexpectedly big for a budget hotel and very clean. the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. the breakfast served at the hotel is nice especially the barako coffee. there is a big space at the front and rear of the hotel for parking. the hotel is suitable for families with small children. best value for money.

Quiet location, spacious rooms”
The suite we got had a dressing area, a study, a receiving area with a sala set, and a comfy queen size bed that faced a grassy window view. Waking up to this view was really pleasurable, because this was exactly the out-of-town scene that I was looking for. If you're in for a drinking-out night with your friends, you may want to look for a hotel closer to restaurants and bars. Otherwise, if quiet is all you need, consider Alfonso Hotel. There's a pool, jacuzzi, golf course, and badminton court at a neighboring country club, which was just a 3 min walk. Alfonso Hotel will endorse you so you could use these club facilities even w/o membership, Ask the staff about this. Also, some of you might find it useful that there was impressive Globe 3G internet reception in the area all day. I was connecting via an iPhone. I just wish there was in-room wi-fi.

Accommodating and very friendly staff”
We arrived at Alfonso Hotel on a non-peak season. The hotel was under renovation and we have transferred from junior suite to the Suite without additional payment. Because we cannot use the junior suite we have used a better room. Great value for money, friendly staff. We enjoyed staying there. Very relaxing and good place to stay. :)

Value for Money”
We stayed at their Deluxe King room at 41% off here at Agoda. Hassle-free check-in and check-out. The room was spacious and clean, all amenities were working. Wi-fi signal was poor since it fluctuates, not a big issue though since we easily found a spot where we got a better signal within the room. There were not enough sockets for charging your phone or other gadgets, that's the only minor issue I have with the room where we stayed at. Breakfast consists of two bread toasts with butter or jam, choice of drinks were either coffee or Milo. Breakfast could have been improved but for the price I paid, I couldn't complain as it was fair enough. Location was far from Tagaytay proper but I like this area better since it's not that congested plus it's also very near Twin Lakes. This hotel is also near the highway. I have stayed at other hotels in Tagaytay but this is the hotel I would probably book again in the future if I just wanted to relax and spend a quiet time with loved ones.

Thank you very much for leaving a review. It is very much appreciated. All constructive criticisms are reviewed for further improvement where possible and feasible. Would like to clarify here for the benefit of future guests that we do NOT have Wi-fi in the rooms. However, all guests have access to free fiber optic wi-fi at the reception and patio area.
Quite place ”
I did not stay too long in Alfonso Hotel but I appreciated how accommodating the staff are. Also, the rooms are big and neat. This hotel is just perfect if you need to rest after a long day at work. I was able to rest well since the place is so peaceful.

Good, basic hotel”
OVerall, we had a pleasant night's stay in Alfonso, considering what we paid. The breakfast was a disappointment (coffee and toast) but it was a blessing that it was light so that we could have a sumptuous lunch at Sonya's Garden next door. We would definitely stay in this hotel again next time we visit Tagaytay.

good ”
Alfonso Hotel was really a simple and old fashioned hotel, with complete amenities inside the room. TV, wide space, and even a small sitting room. The location is not too accessible but it was near the location of my brother's wedding so we booked here. Price is midpoint but totally worth it because of the space of the rooms. A junior suite can fit up to eight people easily and they are not very strict with the number of people per room. Extra mattresses through cost an extra P350. Toothbrushes are also not provided. Should you want to buy them, you have to shell out another P50. Wi-fi in public areas only.

Just Right ”
I was looking for a place to stay, away from Tagaytay City proper, for a weekend vacation from the Metro and found Alfonso Hotel. The room is so spacious and big, so is the toilet and bath. There is water heater in the shower, towels, soap and shampoo are provided for. drinking water is available at the pantry. bottle water is for sale at Php 35.00 / 500 ml. free breakfast of toasted bread with jam is up-gradable with a fee to a full breakfast meal. the only downside was the floor, it was so dusty for me that it needs mopping. I had an allergy attack a few minutes after entering the room :( good thing I bought anti-allergy medications with me ^_^ overall I had a great stay with a good night's sleep and a quiet place to stay away from the busy Metro ^_^ that's all that matters ^_^

Comfortable, Relaxing, Clean.”
Rooms were simple and large, and quite clean. The rooms are spacious enough for a few extra beds/mattresses.. I suggest some upgrades for the furniture and appliances, since much of the furniture is quite old and the piano in the breakfast hall is out of tune/broken. The food however is a bit expensive, and the complimentary breakfast is hardly a breakfast (you have to pay extra to get a real meal). I like the Italian restaurant though- good food and ambiance. I chose Alfonso hotel because my weekend plan was to go hiking nearby on Mt. Batulao - this hotel is just a few minutes away. We had a comfortable stay, the tv had lots of good channels, and the staff was very nice.

Good enough”
Place is good enough to spend a night after going around Tagaytay. Located in a quiet place in Alfonso near Twin Lakes.

Thank you very much for your review and comments. If you go further past Twin Lakes, say about 5 min. more, you can also visit Caleruega Church which has a beautiful garden on their sprawling property. You can enjoy a good 30 min leisurely hike to their second outdoor chapel. There is a small entrance fee but it is a beautiful place to visit!
peaceful and practical”
I went to this hotel with my husband last September 2011. The exterior of the hotel looks old, and relatively small just like the main entrance. The main village (Royale Tagaytay) was very quiet and had only a few houses nearby. So the hotel's perfect if you're looking for a place to meditate, reflect and just relax. Aside from having a small main entrance gate, the reception, corridors and restaurant were also small. But we were surprised by the room size, it was spacious! The room was well maintained, no bugs in sight. However, it wasn't cozy and had only a cable TV, and a cabinet. In contrast, the staff were really warm, service-oriented, and friendly. They were also quick to respond to our needs.

attentive staff, clean and big room”
We had a nice stay inthis hotel, the staff are very accomodating, We arrive late at night but the staff are there to welcome and assist us. We were happy aboutbour room, its big and had its own living room. The bathrooms are also big. The price that we pay for is actually worth it. Its easy to find. If youvwant a nice, quiet and affordable place you can book on this hotel. Its near sonya's garden, splendido and antonio so if you'll be having some activities there you might want to book on this hotel.

Prompt service and Nice location”
When we arrived at the hotel, we just presented our voucher and promptly, the hotel attendant gave us our room number and our key. My husband loves the location though it's about 5-6 km away from Tagaytay City proper. The room is big enough for 2 and it can house around 5 people and the bed is big, king size. When we order for our midnight snack, just after 5 mins of call, they already served the pizza, hot and fresh. We loved our stay there.

Fast Service, Not so Proactive”
We went there on the 30th of December to celebrate the coming of 2013. When we got there, the room was ready although we reserved the room only a day prior. I would like to commend Agoda for that. I was a bit disappointed though that we were given the room right beside the Hotel Entrance so we can actually hear the noise from the outside during the day. The stay itself was quite nice. When we need something, we just call the front desk and they deliver whatever we needed within 5 minutes. However, there was no one who asked us if our stay was comfortable or anyone proactive enough to offer things that they think will make our stay more pleasant. I was expecting something like that from the staff or even the owner. The room was spacious and clean. Even the restroom. However, I think it's a good idea to provide guests with bedroom slippers and robes. The rubber slippers cost Php120 each. That I think is too expensive. Lastly, if you went to Tagaytay to do some sight-seeing and food tripping, I wouldn't suggest this hotel unless you have your own car because the attractions/Tagay proper is a bit way off the Royal Tagaytay estates. We were backpacking so when we wanted to go to restaurants to eat, we had to ride a jeep and we had to wait long for then both going to and back from the major tourist spots. Over-all, it was an ok experience.

Incomplete hotel facilities”
It was a nice stay. But the review I had over the web was a bit misleading. We have expected pool and horseback riding facilities and tennis court. But that was for Alfonso Farm. Not for the hotel. There should at least wifi in the suite. You pay a litle extra for a better service. No secured parking spaces no se urity personnel considering there were two entrances in the hotel breakfast should b a buffet one. No bottled water available in the room yo have to pay for it at the front desk we had to pay for the extra beds but no breakfast was included anotger additional Room was bug but nothing to do a very small old conventional box type television was there
